  1. Yet another example of why conservative education beliefs should never be taken seriously.
  2. Absolute joke of a post.
  3. Thanks! Most of my political positions fit well with Canadian politics, but seem crazy in an American system, unfortunately. Oh no question about that last part though. A different voting system than FPTP, an elected Senate similar to Australia's, and at some point after Elizabeth II passes, renaming the GG position and either making it the official head of state position or making it more of a "Co-Head of State" position depending on how the British monarchy works in coming years...especially if the UK abolishes it. Ideally, in America, I'd like a more ceremonial head of state position with the President...with slightly more powers than a Canadian GG. I'd love a multiparty Parliament with a Premier as head of government, and an elected Senate that serves as a check on the House except on financial matters, etc., and that approves Supreme Court Justices. Votes of non confidence, shorter election campaigns, and longer terms for sitting Congresses etc. would be a much-welcomed development. That's just a general overview though, my beliefs go a lot deeper!
  4. I know of one other on this board! I love Canada, and I'd love to live there someday for a little while. I fully believe the Parliamentary system is a vastly superior system compared to the American Presidential system, especially in this day of rapid information access and movement.
  5. I hope some more polls come out soon... the longer it takes, and the closer we get to election, the antsier I get...
  6. That's all they need to have a plurality in the national popular vote.
  7. They've been eating into Conservative numbers the past several days across the country.
  8. Yeah. No one with a job ever votes NDP (lol "socialist"... American politics is infecting Canada too much)... and everyone who votes Tory are successful people with jobs. Yup.
  9. Confusing your dreams with reality, are ya?
  10. I wish they would take Alberta out of Sask/Man... it's affecting the numbers way too much.
  11. There is time, actually. Look at the change in polling percentages for the NDP the past 4-5 days. Now add that rate to their current standing. There is certainly enough time. I still say the most interesting will be if the NDP and Tories tie for a plurality.
  12. I can't believe I'm saying this, but at this rate, we are looking at the NDP tie or lead the Tories by election day! Especially with the Ontario numbers moving like they are...
  13. There is actually nothing wrong with the poll when put in context with the others. It's just old, and it fits well with a few other polls from its timeframe.
  14. That poll seems a bit behind. Includes information from as far back as April 21 and only up to April 25.
  15. I feel like this question is like asking "What type of berry is most blue?" The obvious answer would be blueberries... but then a few people would say blue raspberry, and a few would overanalyze the situation and try to figure out which berry's pigment is closest to blue, then coming to the conclusion that it is the blackberry.
  16. Weren't you blathering on earlier about how you don't work, but your wife does? How about you go get a job before you start lecturing the rest of us on who is a tax contributor and who isn't?
  17. I'm surprised you don't live in Alabama.
  18. Follow the LD trend from the first debate. It's a steady decline in interest. That combined with Clegg's gaffes are not going to encourage voters to get to the polls. The NDP have been on a solid, steady rise with no sign of weakening. Completely different.
  19. Probably not if the Tories, who I suspect would do something like this, decided to try to overrule the NDP government.
  20. Tories: "Everybody's wrong but us!"
  21. If the unelected Tories in the Senate even remotely try to thwart the will of the people by doing that, you can say goodbye to the entire chamber.
  22. If you aren't sure, then perhaps you shouldn't bring it up since the Lib Dems polling support was falling as election day approached and they committed several gaffes during the last week of the campaign. This is not to mention that the lib Dems are more similar to the liberals in Canada and Labour is most similar to the NDP. The two parties are only similar for the fact that historically they are third. Canada is also not the UK. For examples of third parties, you are better served looking at the mechanics behind NDP in Ontario in 1990, Nova Scotia in 2009, and the ADQ IN Quebec in 2007. That is what Canada is like.
  23. Show me proof where the NDP has adopted said position.
  24. I hope post-BB generations have the energy and ability to fix all of the problems the BB generation has caused.
  25. Basically, his view is that since the NDP have some similar positions to the Bloc, they must have all of the positions of the Bloc. Okay, we can play this game. Since the Tories have similar positions to the Western Block Party, they must also want separation of the West from Canada.
