Im not sure how having him in Canada makes Canada a better spot on the globe. Are they moderate Muslims or extremist? Maybe we don't need more of their views in Canada. Has anyone checked the family view of homosexuals? Or apostates? How do they feel about honour killings? Do they feel non Muslim s should be killed as heretics as it commands in the koran? What if a woman comes from Somalia or Pakistan or Afghanistan or some other place where this is enforced a her mosque tells her she must wear it? Her imam tells her she must wear as does her husband. Say, she doesn't speak much English if at all, so has no contact with outside life other than in her own cultural ghetto. Upon going to the citizenship oath she sees women wearing this so she thinks the men in her life was right even though in her mind she wants to be free. So now we've just become complicit in the practice of subjugation against women.

I think we should let the police decide what's worth their time or not unless you are speaking on behalf of the police. No one has said that walking on the street protesting will be treated like a terrorist. NO one has said that someone will be detained for 7 days for street protesting. Stop making things up please.

Uhm, destroying property isn't peacefully protesting "Jacee". That's breaking the law and people deserve to get arrested for it. Protesters have no right to destroy someone elses property. None of the protesters were innocent in the g20. They were told to stay away and they didn't listen so they got detained. Too bad. Don't like that? Listen to the police next time then and these things won't happen.

I completely agree. This is why I finally decided to join up and report every infraction that I see. In an effort to help clean this forum up some and hopefully attract some new good people who are interested in having honest debate and discussion. I'm probably really up against it but the way I see it is either I'm part of the solution or I'm part of the problem or I'm just part of the landscape.

Don't disobey the police and you won't be detained. Quite simple.

Family, religion, state, nationality...I think. But I don't know if their are absolutes here. The order may change depending on the issue.
