If there's nothing wrong with naked pubescent girls, then why do we arrest those that possess pictures of them. Maybe taking pictures of nude little 8YO girls is not a bad thing. You guys want to punish the pedophiles, but I guess if there's nothing wrong with naked children, there can't be anything wrong with having pictures of naked 8YO children either. How clever of you to introduce rape into the conversation, just so you can argue against it. Look, we'd all love the pedophiles to be in jail forever, but that simply cannot happen. While on probation or parole, a pedophile can't go near parks and pools (why would that be? Hmmm.) And, my daughters won't/don't feel oppressed by this, they know that their father is looking out for them BTW - I wonder what all these kids who have their nude pictures in the possession of a pedophile think of their parents? Do they think their parents are super cool and liberated or do they think that their parents let them down at some point - I'd really like to know that.

This whole crap about the kid feeling bad is just that - crap. If the kid feels bad about putting on a shirt, I'll guarantee that it's simply a reflection of what the parents have put onto her. Do you feel bad about putting on a shirt or bathing suit Jacee?

I wish we could go after the predators harder - believe me, that would be great. Unfortunately, that's not how it works though. No one is sexualizing an 8YO girl. Kids go naked to a certain age, then at a certain point they need to start wearing bathing suits - nothing wrong with that. There is a difference between fear and dislike. I don't fear anything, however i would dislike the idea of a pervert masturbating to pictures of my topless 8 YO daughter - and believe me, it does happen. If you have an 8YO girl, then fine, let all the creeps masturbate to her picture all you want, I prefer to not go down that road. A naked 8YO girl is more sexualized than one wearing a bathing suit. Sure, it's just a matter of different parenting. I tell my girls that their body is private, and they don't need to show it to strangers. No shame, no embarrassement - just privacy. It's funny that just a few years ago it was popular to be open with kids about strangers and perverts and keeping safe, now we've decided that girls (even at a pubescent age) can just go topless in public without a care in the world

Suing companies when their products are used to murder people sets a really bad precedent.

The fisheries were taken over by Chinese buyers in 90's helped by the provincial BC NDP. Allowing licenses to be sold to foreign entities was a provincial decision not federal as evidenced by New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and others refusing to allow license holders to be outside of Canada - in fact you couldn't have a commercial license there if you were even out of province in those other areas. Go check wild fish at the market and somewhere on the packaging will likely have a Chinese business name. As for raw timber, that's another one that was provincial NDP of the 90's. The NDP and their unions made it impossible for mills to compete and raw timber was shipped off to Japan. Fish farms; well the only reason we have even a single salmon left in the ocean is because fish farms are supplying the world with a much needed commodity. You want them on land? When I hear this, I know the speaker knows nothing about the issue or the environmental impact of land based aquaculture. If you wonder where your salmon rivers have gone, look at ground water pollution from the fraser valley - that's a pretty good start.
