"Right now, I cannot."

Re Doug Ford immune from giving testimony at the EA inquiry.
"Parliamentary privilege has its roots in the English House of Commons. When applied, it provides immunity to parliamentarians from being scrutinized by courts, experts say."
Nice job these people have, where can I get one? I should be just as skilled and knowledgable as he.
And I never even bought or sold dope from my driveway in Scarborough.

Both tried to invade. No one is invading the Motherland.
BTW far more recently the Mujahideen served the Russians their lunch.

Sure Boges. Putin shouldn’t mind that US imposed puppet ruler Zelenski is hell bent on joining NATO.
It’s not an invasion of the motherland...

He was elected in a real election. I know those are hard concept for Conservatives to understand these days.

Canada's Sports Minister is telling people at Hockey Canada to step down, resign so they can put their own government approved leadership in.
At a hearing today Hockey Canada stated-
“Our board does not share the view that Hockey Canada should be making more leadership changes at this time. As a board, we continue to support the CEO and management.”
Exactly. Someone needs to tell the government to stand down. They have no business in the locker rooms of Canadians.

Hockey is a sport that many Canadians play. Here in my town we have several arenas, each with multiple rinks and they are all full. There is some pleasure skating and figure skating, but for the most part it is hockey.
We play right from a kid 5 yo to an old man in his 70’s. Sometimes more.
We know they’re gone when they no longer appear in the dressing room.
And one day, we’ll be gone.
But someone else will be there
to chase the puck
in our stead
-
And who are we? We are ordinary Canadians. We were raised in Canadian schools that taught about being tolerant and fair, whether that be religion, skin colour or gender.
That’s why we got all kinds of players on the ice. Japs, blacks, italians. And some, are good players.
We have female players too. We cherish female players.
This is grass roots stuff, not the big leagues of course. It takes place in every small town, across this great land.
I doubt Mr. Trudeau or any of them on the government inquisition panel ever put on skates. But they want to remodel Canada, first by spreading the lie that Canada’s traditional structures and institutions are corrupt. That “Old Canada” is racist and misogynist and genocidal, and incapable of dealing with these issues.
Only their newly woke culture can save us. They seek to express it in every media form possible, including TV sports.
Totalitarianism.

I wont be held hostage to the "Progressive" Communists by any institution
any institution which falls to them, I simply walk away from

Watching the news on hurricane damage on the Atlantic coast
Power lines down
water shut off
no heat
food spoiled
Canada is a small country population-wise
with a lot of rotting infrastructure especially in rural areas
They need the power back on
roads fixed and internet restored
Mr. Trudeau used the opportunity for a photo-op on CTV
yet little else in terms of tangible support for Canadians
Makes me think, what is the point of confederation in this goddam country?

What is especially shocking in Eastern provinces are the houses, how they are built. Many of them don't have bricks, it is vinyl, with roofs that are very thin. Horrible maintenance as well! Having worked in the insurance industry in the past, I can tell you that Eastern provinces have the highest premiums in terms of house insurance, except some parts of British Columbia. It is preposterous how weak infrastructure is, and how the electrical wires are on posts instead of being inground, in such windy parts of the country. They literally build electrical posts on the side of trees sometimes!

I mean sure Boges, we can excuse those that do not. Although the new paradigm requires that in the future they do. It is an emergency after all.
However let us not also forget history. After Fukushima the new green Germany declared it must take a completely anti-nuclear stance, and dismantled their reactors. Not because they were afraid of a Tsunami coming down the Rhine, no. But just on principle, to demonstrate their purity.
What it amounts to is Virtue signalling from the highest level, this time bringing harm unto themselves.
In other words, Environ-Mentalism.
And the world will have to pay the carbon price.

I agree, Germany was dumb to move away from Nuclear.
And it's not really environmentalism. It's fear of the power source and governments not wanting to invest in the cost.
Right now Ontario has no back-up plans to replace the Pickering Nuclear power station with more Nuclear.

Krauts do a double-take on nuclear. Backward summersault in the bakery aisle. It is good now.
Economics’ Trump’s virtue
-
The problem with France/Germany and nuclear power is that their rivers are generally slow moving and smallish...heating during the summer to unacceptable temperatures for core cooling. This forces a lot of reductions or shutdowns no matter the desire for more power.
Russia also has generally slow rivers....but they're also very big. Less of a problem for them.
-
I didn’t know about the river water problem. The article I read states:
“Following the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi plant in Japan in March 2011, the government of then Chancellor Angela Merkel decided it would phase out its use of nuclear power by the end of 2022 at the latest. Prior to the accident, Germany was obtaining around one-quarter of its electricity from nuclear power.
“In August 2011, the 13th amendment of the Nuclear Power Act came into effect, which underlined the political will to phase out nuclear power in Germany. As a result, eight units were closed down immediately: Biblis A and B, Brunsbüttel, Isar 1, Krümmel, Neckarwestheim 1, Phillipsburg 1 and Unterweser. The Brokdorf, Grohnde and Gundremmingen C plants were permanently shut down at the end of December 2021.
“The country's final three units - Emsland, Isar 2 and Neckarwestheim 2 - are set to close at the end of this year.“
This is the result of virtue signalling. Pure and utterly misguided. A perfect example of the road to leftist hell.
In other words, they are Environ- mental

When I go out now, it seems very few people are wearing masks anymore. Maybe they’ve figured it out. But na.
Maybe less than 10 percent of people still wear it, in a recent survey. The ones still wearing it are of all ages, young and old.
Makes you wonder why.
Was at the supermarket, and I came around the corner a little too fast. There was this old guy wearing a mask. He got all flipped out that I was there and did a double-take, attempted evasive manouvers that almost ended up in him doing a full summersault in the bakery aisle. Poor bastard.

Covid’s like the flu now, didn’t you hear about that?
“COVID-19 case fatality rates are substantially lower and are rapidly approaching that of the annual flu,” said Lemp, former Director of the California HIV/AIDS Research Program at the University of California, Office of the President.

we are well into Orwellian world Canada at this point
the entire Canadian media acting as propagandists for a de facto one party state
it's exactly like Pravda & TASS from the Soviet Union
I don't even recognize the Canadian Forces anymore
the government executing Stalinist purges of the chain of command
the bizarre edicts imposed on the military from the government
they say the purpose of the CF is to "fight systemic racism & misogyny" ?
this is totalitarian bizzaro world, right out of Kafka or Solzhenitsyn
-
we are also witnessing the stark difference between the American constitution
and the Canada Act 1982
all of this lunacy is emanating from the Democrat Party in America
but in America, they are consistently being overruled by the judiciary
in America, there are alternate media sources, wiping the legacy media out
in America, there is fierce resistance in the face of this totarianism
but in Canada, nothing
in Canada, the judiciary, the prosecutors, the police, the military
it's all in the pockets of this lunatic state
the government simply invokes Section One of the Charter
to negate every other Section after
we literally have no rights, and every institution in Canada goes along with that
-
in terms of Justin Trudeau ?
he appears to me to be a literal pathological lying psychopath
he's knows he is lying
you know he is lying
he knows that you know that he is lying
but that's the whole point
that is how a totalitarian cult of the personality works
that is how it is in China
that is how it is in Russia
Trudeau is knowingly and deliberately trying to incite a civil conflict
pitting Canadians against each other with malice
this is the behaviour of a malevolent manipulative personality disorder

This references the fact that petroleum etc is easily sequesterable, but electricity is not.
Energy is security. Will be more and more important in the future.
That’s why the US has a “Strategic Petroleum Reserve”.
Meanwhile you people go piss around with your little batteries. See how far you get, when the lights finally go out.
-
Honestly if the power goes out. My forms of transportation will be the least of my worries.
This line of reasoning is a red herring. Your computer won't work either when the lights go out.
-
Also, Gasoline just doesn't come from the ground. Crude Oil does and requires labour intensive refining. The supply of Gasoline will quickly dry up if the tankers stop coming.
The real solution to having electricity available after civilization collapses is expanded use of Solar and wind power. If every room had a solar panel, you could be completely self sufficient.
