  1. It's alarming she can't get the test. Hopefully this case will change the approval process.
  2. I wouldn't want to be on the Olympic committee right about now. Can lawsuits arise?
  3. There has only been one accuser take the stand so far.
  4. I can't post the link. Sorry. It's in the national post.
  5. A woman in Canada has returned from Brazil, discovered she was pregnant. She was refused a test to determine if she had the virus. She has chosen to abort the baby without knowing whether or not the baby has the virus. If it were me, I'd find a way to have the test and if it were positive I would abort.
  6. The point is that sexual assault cases do not have a high conviction rate. It will be interesting to see how this case unfolds.
  7. Much of her and Bill's speaking fees go to their charitable foundation. And there is no reason she should have to twiddle her thumbs just because she is wealthy. She is also raising the bar for speaking fees for women which is still way behind men's fees. Kudos to her on that.
  8. Probably will but that's to be expected.
  9. Sanders doesn't stand a chance. Iowa represents 1% of delegates and he only came away with 21. Hilary is very strong in the big-state, delegate-rich primaries and in the South. Not only that, she also has super delegates who number around 200.
  10. Huge turnouts tonight. Doesn't bode well for Hillary but probably does for trump.
  11. Their concerns were picked to reflect concerns of many other Canadians. I didn't have a problem with the format.
  12. This case is going to cast a huge spotlight on how sexual assault cases are handled in Canada.
  13. It was a great podcast. I highly recommended anyone following this case to listen to it.
  14. Most people have to earn a living.
  15. Hold? Right, so now he is a cult leader.
  16. Sure it was PR, but it wasn't initiated by him and did make him accessible unlike Harper. Nothing wrong with that. Why would it be a waste of time if he his listening to Canadians across Canada and answering their concerns.
  17. It's astonishing that you would want our PM of Canada to not be a leader.
  18. That's right and to further add, this interview was initiated by Peter Mansbridge and not the PMO. This wasn't a PR stunt initiated by JT, but was in fact JT following through on his promise: "He and his team had campaigned on the promise of openness and accessibility, so we called them on it." http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mansbridge-face-to-face-trudeau-1.3424017
  19. What's interesting is that posters who use 'Jr' are supporters of Harper. Hmmmmm. Nothing derogatory there, no sirreee.
  20. What the heck did you win and why?
  21. On a positive note, Greece footballers staged a sit in protest prior to the start of the game, highlighting the death toll of migrants trying to reach their shores, especially the hundreds of children drowning.
  22. Perhaps the title of this thread should be changed to 'Islamaphobia in Europe'.
  23. As if this can't get any worse. The leader of a right wing populist party, Frauke Petry, has said that migrants trying to enter Germany illegally should be stopped and if necessary use firearms. Thankfully Germany's police union said that would never happen. They said her thoughts reflect a radical and inhumane mentality. No kidding! You can read it on the bbc website. Can't post the link. Sorry.
  24. Sanction the hell out of countries who are abysmal at human rights. And yes, JT should do more and maybe he will but I think the SA deal is a done deal, We do have a list of conditions that a country has to meet before we will sell them arms etc including that they can't use them on their citizens. It seems weird that the SA deal went through on these conditions.
