I read an article today in the globe and mail about a Canadian bringing former nhl players to North Korea for a tournament. This will help to encourage rapport between our countries. This is the same guy who brought Rodman to this country. Given the latest reports of possible nuclear tests earlier this month and threats of imminent tests should Canada encourage these visits. I'm of the opinion that yes it could be a good idea. It could help to encourage the release of Canadian prisoners. Sorry. Can't post the link. Many of these freeloaders are being hired by employers in Canada who were themselves refugees or immigrants at one time. Try again.

Well, personally there isn't much I can do financially (except through my taxes), but not sure why that would prove my tolerance and empathy towards the refugees.

Many aren't but when they get tired of staying in camps with no jobs, no future and countries discriminating against them, they will return to fight for whatever organization pays the most. This is exactly what shouldn't be encouraged but really, what alternative do they have. They will just become bitter because they have been cast aside as threats.

I can't argue against your beliefs. You will believe what you will. I can only post about my belief in humankind and supporting these Syrian refugees. We have troubling problems with global refugee crisis and I would not want Canada to step away and leave the issues to European countries. This is an international issue. We have no right to step away

We are talking about refugees. I have stated in the past that Canadians don't give two fu..ks about First Nations. Why would they start now.

An individual can support refugees through offering volunteer services such as English speaking skills, offering accommodations, transportation services. It doesn't all come down to private sponsorship to support refugees. I do get that you are all about the money.

And let's not forget that many of these single male Syrian refugees are really just very young men, 18 to 20ish. Yes, some are still teenagers.

It is truly upsetting to read all these hostile posts against other human beings. I would hope that these islamaphobes would extend themselves to experience opportunities that would put them in direct face to face communication with them. What harm could it do?

Yes I know. Unfortunately there are many like him that are not sympathetic to individuals trying for a better life in a strange country, different languages, culture etc. Instead of working with and helping them, they instead choose to beat them while they are vulnerable.
