  1. I thought the halftime show was kinda lame. I think it's time for them to look beyond the mainstream artists and book instead artists like arcade fire, Florence and the machine. The half time show is becoming boring.
  2. I don't object to it but I think it highlights the deficiency of the moderation of the site.
  3. Bruno Mars reminds me of Motown
  4. Why would you suggest that?
  5. I think we are in agreement. Not sure why you think otherwise?
  6. I missed Lady Gaga. I forgot about that! She has an amazing voice. Did you not hear her duet with Tony Bennett?
  7. That doesn't excuse assault.
  8. I'm not much interested in the game but am looking forward to Bruno Mars.
  9. This is just an attack on other members as a group and does nothing to add substance to this thread. Should this post be deleted? Probably.
  10. The Crown likely had no idea of the emails hence the non appearance of medical health professionals. Can they now call on them to explain the behaviour of these women after the assaults have taken place?
  11. If it's true that some posts are quite simply filled with craziness, bitterness and anger, wouldn't they be deleted? At least now with the heavy handed approach to deleting posts? I suppose this response could be directed to the mods. But again it goes back to why members would be 'ignored'. The intelligent people that are attracted to a site such as this should be mature enough to just ignore certain posts instead of the members and rely on the mods to keep this a reasonably intelligent space to have conversations. When I see members 'ignoring' other members, this flys in the face of a respectable forum.
  12. Few of Ghomeshi's emails have been presented in court. I read an article today that suggested the Crown may have initiated a search warrant to for his emails. This case is no slam dunk and it also reveals the growing importance of digital info going back years. http://www.vancouversun.com/technology/ghomeshi+emails+reveal+growing+importance+digital+debris/11703716/story.html
  13. I am pretty sure that organizations providing information to potential volunteers would have a pretty good handle on refugees. Congrats to you for reaching out! Canadians have been phenomenal in providing help to these refugees.
  14. Glad it works for you! I have never felt the need to, however I'm quite sure other members have blocked me!
  15. I get that I suppose, but if you are contributing to a thread and another member's response isn't acceptable to you, shouldn't you still read them to provide a rebuttal or acceptance of said response? Or just ignore the post, rather than the member?
  16. I don't understand the need to 'ignore' other members. If the mods are doing their job, there would be no need to 'ignore' posters. Additionally, how can anyone respond to a thread with substance if they are ignoring posts that may have relevance to the thread? (Unless of course the blocked posters continually post irrelevant comments that provide no substance).
  17. You are singling out Sikh women (who btw are not Islam so not sure what it has to do with this thread) as if they are the majority of murdered women in BC. Why don't you mention the murder of aboriginal women or other western women. Yes, we have heard of Sikh women being murdered, but we have also heard of other women being murdered as well. Your statement is inflammatory towards all Sikh men. Here is a list of murdered women in BC (majority are domestic homicide victims) in 2015. Judging by the names, the majority are not Sikh or Islam. Ladysmith, BC: Rayna Johnson, 55 Vancouver, BC ,Rose Paul, 36 (Aboriginal). Victoria, BC: Mary Caitlin Walton, 46 Surrey, BC: Salamawit Girma, 25 Richmond, BC: Elaine Leznoff, 66 Mission, BC: Eleanor Anthonysz, 33. Saanich BC: Juile Cox, 56. Popkum, BC: The Janzen family Surrey, BC: Cady Quaw, 23 Aboriginal Richmond, BC: Redelma Belisario, 62 New Westminster, BC: Charan Kaur Dhandwar, 79 (random killing) Waterdown, BC: Delores Brown, 19, Aboriginal. 2016 100 Mile House, BC: Vesna Dumstrey-Soos, 37 I should add, that this mention of Sikh women being murdered seems to normalize the killing of western women but the killing of Sikh women is 'different', which it clearly isn't. http://ohegarty.blogspot.ca/p/counting-dead-women-canada-2015.html
  18. The article also states: It goes on to say: But of course, thanks to the fear mongering of the Conservatives, Canada elected to refuse young Syrian men admission to Canada.
  19. ww are talking about 50,000 refugees. Can we get real about this
  20. I would challenge anyone here who addressed JT as Jr to say it was nothing more than removing the chance that anyone would assume they were talking about Pierre.
  21. It makes absolutely no sense to me that MLW would allow Jr to be used to call out JT. It is clearly derogatory.
  22. And if you believe that, I have some land for sale. You interested?
