National Public Transit Strategy? That's easy. Free transit in every city across the country. -

Two months for a poll? Poor guy, he must have been really tired having to talk to 1000 people living in 27 countries, in person and by phone. -
Canada all tapped out, Alberta goes to Germany!
Canuck E Stan replied to geoffrey's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
That's where the problem lies, employers want ready made trades people. Most won't touch an apprenticeship program because in the beginning an apprentice "costs" them money, with little in return. It's so much easier to let someone else train an apprentice for a trade and then steal them as a journeyman. I would like to see a rule requiring business to have a ratio of apprentices to jouneymen so the younger generation gets a head start in the trades. Companies who go overeas should also be required to have a ratio at home, or at least given approval to bring over jouneymen only if the have proven they have a ratio of apprentices to journeymen on the payroll. This country has always had an issue with having enough trades people and apprenticeship training should be mandated into any business that uses more than three tradesmen of the same trade. -

My daughter's home is worth half a million...
Canuck E Stan replied to August1991's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
The perception is that because of the way this parent brought up this child, the child has become successful. So to this proud parent this is what is important in the measure of success. Having a half a million dollar home. More important, here we have a parent who talks about environmental issues, social issues and issues of poverty like it's relevant to what people in this country should strive for, for our children, but prefers to measure the success of their own children based on real estate prices. Lump this Leftie in with the others like Gore,Suzuki, and all the movie stars who want the world to change for the good of mankind, but in reality it's just an illusion to try to fool others and to make themselves feel better about issues. Success in life based on real estate value......sorry...as a parent I think not. -
His only way to get votes is to play the sympathy "poor homo guy" , otherwise his support is down the drain. The "R" word is a no-no because that just alienates the voters. He can't stand up for issues, because he doesn't know what to say about them. So it's back to the teary eyed "homo" topic to try to get votes. I think Quebec voters won't buy this stupid PQ strategy in trying to get votes. Bosclair is done.

Who should have the Liberals made leader?
Canuck E Stan replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Wasting his time in Ottawa? If he can't make it work in Ottawa,he doesn't stand a chance outside of Ottawa. His fundraising will get him a buck and half, and recruiting new candidates, with the polls nosediving for his personal leadership abilities, he's going to have a rough time finding noteable recruits. He better have a translator who can translate his Flip-Flopping English. -
Garth Turner on 03.01.07 @ 8:04 pm Pondering poll results? Plan? Is Garth on the move again?

In Ontario, who would you vote for Premier?
Canuck E Stan replied to Topaz's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
Boob Rae messed up Ontario real bad,Harris screwed up,McGinty isn't any better. Ontario is going to go into a minority government situation with probably McGinty holding power by a thread. And the economic downturn in Ontario will make for another election shortly thereafter with McGinty quitting. I saw this all in my crystal bowling ball -
At the Federal level, Paul "the deficit killer" Martin was reducing the deficit and acting like the CEO of Canada proudly announcing more "profits" each year for the government. And each year his profits were better than the year before. What a guy,Liberals were so proud of the "deficit killer" making so much money for the government. Can't wait for Harper to get into the Liberal "foundations" that the auditor is not allowed to look at.

To be a PM, do you have to be a BULLY?
Canuck E Stan replied to Topaz's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Argus,You forgot the "Just Watch Me","Fuddle Duddle" guy. -
I've seen what Liberals are, and that scares the hell out of me. After one year of Harper, I'm ready to give him another vote, hopefully he gets a majority. I've said this before, if he fucks screws up, he won't get my vote again. But one year is not enough time to judge, especially in a minority government.I'll give him more a chance ,hopefully one majority mandate. Right now there is no one else I would give my vote to.....especially Dion...he's a total loser in my book.
-
Let's see how it's played out, we don't know if it's incorrect.A Liberal politician saying it's incorrect just doesn't mean much to most Canadians. We've been given the gears from you guys for years.
-
You would never give Harper a chance, because being a Liberal means never having to say you're sorry.....for having picked a leader who will be the shortest term leader in Liberal history. Go ahead, give Dion a chance, be one of the few,the brave, but better start thinking of who really can lead the Liberal party back to the forefront. It sure as hell won't be Dion.
-
And the Liberals? And Dion's popularity? Face it dobbin, the avalanche has started with Dion at the helm and is building steam straight downhill. Dion was a mistake and Liberals know it and Liberals are stunned. Like the "remove Day from the Alliance leadership days" don't be surprised for a recall of Dion from the leadership. Better hope there isn't an election soon.
-
You should know about elections, it's all part of the political game. Winner takes all.
-
Until the latest trend. Majority within grasp. Shed a tear for the Dion team and hope the team becomes someone elses.A new leadership that will change the tide of conservative majority.
-
Who cares about him losing credibility with you. You're a die hard Liberal, who would vote for Kyoto the dog if he was a Liberal leader. Lost credibility with Canadians, I think not. That's why Harper and the CPC popularity is going up. Dion will have the shortest term ever as a Liberal leader. The Liberals will pay dearly for their mistake in picking this "loser" in the next election, and in turn will have to wait 5 years before they can try it again. They had a better choice and blew it.

Who is to blame for the demise of traditional marriage
Canuck E Stan replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Hollywood mentality.....gimme,gimmie,gimmie I want it,I deserve it. Another question, if your parents stayed married(forever), are your chances better for a successful marriage? -
Liberals think 9/11 Victims a 'Side Show"
Canuck E Stan replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I believe this is why more and more people are cynical about the Liberals, we've seen too many issues as you have stated with much talk and little action, or action that came too late. Add to your list National Daycare, geting tough on crime, eliminating the GST and renewed Military funding. Also the lack of any direction of their policies and the flip flopping. Dion definitely has his work cut out for the Liberal party.I don't believe he will be the one to do it.
