  1. Although the violent aspect of antisemitism might be confined to Quebec, acts of vandalism in Manitoba is right behind Quebec. Considering that the Jewish population in Manitoba is about 13,000(1.2% of the provincial population and getting smaller) and the population in Quebec is about 90,000(1.3% of provincial population also getting smaller) I would have to say you should be worried about where Manitoba is heading with antisemitism. Jewish population in Canada 2006 Audit of Antisemitic Incidents in Canada Examples of anti-Semitic incidents reported in Manitoba during 2006 Manitoba is far from being a model province.
  2. I guess for some it's Finders Keepers, for others who were taught about stealing and returning thing to their rightful owners and ethics and just doing the right thing, Holland will be an example of all the things a person shouldn't do.
  3. Saw it yesterday, that's what made me look at Fergie's My Humps. Rita's version(if she does one) I think would be better. How could you not watch.....even if on CBC?
  4. why would it not have been wrong? Your arguement get weakened more than slightly. Holland held on to these boxes knowing full well who owned it for the past year because I'm sure he knew who occupied the space before him. The information he read inside the boxes was an invasion of privacy that he refused to acknowledge. Why didn't he come out with this big revelation of what he found back then? I can't believe he just opened the boxes just recently. I would guess he was hoping to use it in the next up coming election. When the polls showed the Liberals faultering he hoped this would raise the numbers. His big mistake was carting the boxes around for everyone to see, forgetting that the Yellow House of Commons delivery notice was in full view. If the boxes were stuck in the office for three years, that may well have played differently. Holland has made an ass of himself and his party, and if the RCMP don't decide to investigate the "findings" by Holland I'm afraid Holland will look bad, especially if he is the one charged with unethical conduct. With the information in his hands why hasn't he returned the boxes yet?
  5. Let's know the facts first. Can you still say I'm an idiot?
  6. Of course how stupid of me, I thought the Liberals were in power in 2004, and the Conservatives got in just last January in the year 2006. I guess it just seemed like last year. 2006 2004 Can you say I'm an idiot?
  7. Check it out homie, like, maybe Rita could Rap with the Underground Boys, you know put the whole thing like in your face, like right now in like.... today. Or have DJ Rita do a rendition of the Black Eyed Peas song . My Humps Now that would get Canadians watching CBC.
  8. Abandoned?.......in a room.......for several years?.........er, how long has Holland occupied that room? Did he move in before they moved out? It wasn't abandoned,Holland did like a magician, and made it disappear when he saw it. But it was long enough for sticky fingers Holland to know who occupied the room before him.
  9. If the bus carring the people who write for the royal canadian airfarce plunged off a cliff, killing all on board, the show would have a 50/50 chance of being funny. And when is CBC bringing back Wayne and Shuster(time to colourize the black and white film) for a new generation to watch? Let's not forget the Trudeau series,I haven't seen it since last year,or how about the Tommy Douglas(the one using the dramatic licence to alter the facts)series. Somehow I think Little Mosque in the U.S. will create more anger than laughs.
  10. That's totally beside the point, since the box had NO seal, and all the label said was 320-2 (or whatever). The words House of Commons and a government crest on the delivery slip should be the biggest point. Seeing this should tell any idiot who sees this, that this is not a box of full of donuts from Timmy's. Although, Holland did think it may contain some sweets. Maybe if it didn't belong to you, you would have the presence of mind to look at a big yellow label that says House of Commons and draw some reasonable conclusions from what was written on the big yellow label with House of Commons written on it, as to who might know who owns it. But hey, I guess Holland first must learn to read, then he must be able to assess the situation as to who owns the box, and then he must be ethical enough to return it. I'm sure Holland did the first two things. If the label didn't make sense to him, it did make sense enough to him to realise that, in the box, was documents from the former opposition party. And playing finders keepers, that gave him the right to stick his nose into it,not to see who it belonged to,but to see what he could find. Such were and still is the ethics of a party who desperately wants so badly to be governing again.
  11. On this Day Happy Easter to everyone. Don't eat too much chocolate. The Easter bunnies
  12. You move into an office,on Parliament hill,in a government building,in Ottawa, the nations capitol. There are boxes to be moved from that office, into another office,on Parliament Hill, into another government building,in Ottawa, the Nation's Capitol. The delivery slip doesn't say Joe's moving company or Holland Moving company, it is a delivery slip that has the House of Commons logo and seal on it. Who could own this? Does it matter? Maybe it belongs to someone who works for the House of Commons. Maybe if you're ethical you would call the House of Commons and tell them they have boxes there,or....maybe not. Maybe you would move them youself and not tell anyone. Maybe they have been missing for a year already, and no one but one person really knew where they were....maybe. Official crest and logo on moving boxes in the House of Commons. If the boxes had a delivery slip with the Armed Forces seal on it, or the RCMP,or the OPP, or CSIS, would Holland rifle through it to see what was in it, or would he call the proper authorities and notify them it was there? ........that's what I thought.
  13. Too much damage done, too little to repair the damage done.....but...Surplus after surplus after surplus. Cutback after cutback to the provinces all those years when there was surplus after surplus after surplus. Did I mention that during the cutbacks there were a hell of a lot of surpluses? Ah,surpluses, now those were proud moments for the Liberals.
  14. .......and Finance Minister Martin never reduced healthcare $$$. Ah, the old Liberal bait and switch.......healthcare,yes.......but we never actually said we would do anything about wait times.
  15. Wanna bet the Liberals don't have a clue as to fixing the problem.....not even a little bit. After all these years, starting with Finance Minister Martin slashing $$$ to Healthcare, the Libs are heavy on damage, short on repair. But unlike the others opposition, the Libs should have a solution(should have solved the issue years ago,if they were so damn smart)and like all their answers it involves "if we had more time then,we could have solved the problem". Dion has no solution, only a overwhelming desire to get in power. For Dion being PM is only a pipe dream, he''ll never see it. Dion will reject anything from the Cons, just for the sake of rejecting. Hope the Libs are setting up their next convention date for a new leader. This one's a dud.
  16. Wanna bet no matter how good or bad it is, Dion will always think it's bad? ..........and who was it that wants an election ......sooner than later?
  17. Books: http://www.amazon.com/Casa-Loma-Man-Who-Made/dp/0919822487 http://karenruby.typepad.com/weblog/2006/0...loma_toron.html Hope it helps.
  18. From Hart Anonymously right out of the box But wait..... And from Hart....
  19. Stupid is as stupid does. Oh Danny boy . . .
  20. Yes he has done the *fair and right thing*. He has brokered an agreement that the Conservative Party of Canada will disband and no one to the right of Stephane Dion will ever be allowed to vote or run for office again. That is fair and right isn't it? Sounds good to me. I understand that he has also brokered an agreement with Layton and with the Greens. Kyoto and environmental causes will be first on the order paper, and all the profits made from Kyoto imposed penalties will make for no more personal taxes for Canadians and will give all social issues so much money that the Greens and NDP can also disband, as they won't be needed any longer. Long live the Natural Governing Party!
  21. The only nervous Nellie is you and Dion. Dion is done, now,May,or whenever,Dion can stand in line right behind Boisclair as a has been leader. He was the wrong pick for the Liberals and it will show when the election occurs. Too bad,he was the best Liberal environment minister ,the environment never had.
  22. Provincial Liberal quits party It's a while before the election, but are the Ontario Conservates going to increase their seats from 24?
  23. I believe the newest revolution in broadcasting is going to put a damper on CBC and the private networks in the near future. Internet Broadband viewing is being tried out now and I believe it will go big time. For me it's great to be able to watch the program I like when I like. No more waiting for 8:00 tuesday night to see a particular show(I don't have cable or a dish) just get on the internet pick the program and watch.Throw in a new bigger quality monitors to view these programs and you have great viewing. How this will affect cable and dish companies I don't know. But half the crap you pay for no one wants, but it's part of the "package" and you have to take it. How this will affect CBC and the networks will be interesting.I see that HNIC will be available in broadband.
  24. Yes, of course what box? Robbin' Hood Holland and his gang of Merry Men walking down the street with 'What boxes?" labelled with House of Commons stickers saying that they are to be moved from the Opposition offices to the Offices of the Government. Of course it must be property of the Liberals, since they only plan to stay in opposition for a short time, yeh, right. Of course they must be Hollands "What boxes?" why else would he be carting them around. Yeh,right. Or maybe the pay is so low in the House that he has a part time job moving "What Boxes?" Yeh,right. Caught in the act. Holland and the Liberals are thieves...... Still.
  25. All these tags might be necessary for you,but if you work at the House of Commons as a mover, this in all probability, is all the information you need. "Hey,Joe we got some boxes up in 145 that have to be moved" "Okay Bill I"ll get on it right away, after Mark Holland rifles though it" House of Commons Delivery Slip I think any reasonable person who works in the House of Commons would recognize an official yellow House of Commons moving slip. If it isn't your stuff why would you even touch it. Yellow tag with the Official Coat of Arms and words House of Commons on it means it's government stuff. My question is, first did Holland move the boxes somewhere else before the movers had a chance to move them? Second, knowing it wasn't his, what ethical reason would he have to rifle through it? Third,if it was there for a long period of time why didn't Holland not call those in charge and have them move it?
