  1. CBC-Liberals agree not to run candidate against Green leader Dion is afraid the Green's will win in his riding? Yesterday Belinda, who tomorrow? Great, what next Liberals join the Greens, or the Greens joining the Liberals? I'm sure a lot a Liberals and Greens are going to be Happy, happy, joy, joy, over this latest joining of forces.
  2. Check back with Harper's old high school,I understand that there may be some assignment papers he wrote that might be of interest to you. P.S. this crap was tried a couple of elections ago.
  3. This particular riding as had a Conservative MP since 1968 with the rare exception of Roseanne Skoke in 1993-1997. She was an social conservative Liberal. I'd say that Dion is smart. He saves some money on that riding, earns Green gratitude, pokes a finger in the eye of the NDP and hopefully gives May enough momentum and support to take on MacKay. Dion playing Wheelie Dealie with the Greens and the (everyday.... and thinking of voting) Liberal voter will say that's good. Dion acknowledges the Greens. If Dion think's she's good we'll do the same and vote for the Greens too....... in our riding. End result,Harper gets his majority. Very smart indeed.
  4. With Magna's biggest customer being Chrysler(25% of their business) Frank has a lot at stake to keep a foothold in and with Chrysler. You're right Frank is a numera uno type of business man, that's why Chrysler is an important purchase for him and in the expansion of Magna.Frank always wanted to build a Magna automobile, and this is his chance to do that, especially with Belinda's political and business experience and help .. ...... .. ya,right.
  5. The real issue facing Canada: competitiveness-by Belinda Stronach Tues.April10,2007 An article by Belinda just yesterday in the National Post.....on the importance of education in this competitive world. Yes,Belinda and the importance of education. Yes, it was a hard working evironment for Belinda where she cut her cheques, er her teeth, working her way up from a lowly position as CEO of Magna to possible Chairman of Chysler. It was a tough go. And Belinda should know the importance of an education,if only she had one, who knows to what heights her career could have gone. Good luck to you Belinda, you've been a real learning experience for all of us.
  6. How insignificant is the pay? I always thought all the companies had advanced robotics, why is Toyota's better? Employee morale?,do you know of anyone working at Toyota. Why is it better? What is Toyota's human resources philosophy? How is it different than the Big Three and why better? I'm not looking for an arguement,I'm just interested. I can't seem to find any of this stuff on the 'Net.
  7. Agreed. You'll find that they use much more efficient methods. Something the automakers have never had to do because Ottawa bails them out. And what would these much, more ,efficient methods be?
  8. Toyotas are made in Ontario. They are building more plants to build more cars. The plants are in over-time mode to get the cars out faster.Ever stop to wonder why? We laughed at the econo boxes the Japanese built while we drove our SUV's and other gas guzzling, living room on wheels vehicles. Now with a concern for gas prices we change our driving habits and don't want these gas guzzler vehicles anymore. And it's now the fault of government? Give me a break. If anyone should be blamed it's the auto sector itself. Auto companies went for the big bucks for short term gain. They thought they knew the consumer market, but they didn't,they blew it and now it's costing them big time. Any other business that doesn't know their target market goes out of business, why not the domestic car market. My heart bleeds for the $36 an hour auto worker, but they know this is how the industry works. Maybe another line of work would suit them better. The auto industry goes up and down all the time.Overtime one day because of high demand,no work the next because no one buys their product. Rules brought Toyota and Honda to Canada because they saw the demand, and with other foreign car makers it may be the same. When you're a one industry town like Windsor, expect these ups and downs. If you want to help Windsor,go and buy a gas guzzling vehicle made there, but don't ask the taxpayers to bail out an industry that doesn't have the right product at the right time. FYI Read this the other day, 20%-23% of Canadians buy a new vehicle EVERY year.
  9. Dion as a Prime Minister....Ouch! Hard to dismiss these latest polls
  10. No, leave it there. The trouble will be for the Liberals. Their leader is still Stephane Dion.
  11. Of course, we can help both the CBC and the environment with (get ready for this).......Global Climate Idol. A television show that puts the climate scientists up against each other. The public then gets to vote their favourite scientist and the judges put in their two cents worth. The CBC would make a bundle sending this show around the world. Other than Gore and Dion I don't know any other "experts" that could be judges.
  12. This global climate warming change issue is reminiscent of the person who says there sure are a lot of green volkswagen beetles on the streets. All of a sudden you begin noticing green volkswagens. And decide he's right. The more we hear about weather, that occurs 365 days-24/7, the less we think of "regular" weather and only think of weather that is different from the norm. Snow in July? Was this the first time it ever happened? With the amount of overload of information we receive from multiple sources, we tend to only recollect the unusual. I doubt if you'll ever hear anyone ever say, boy, that weather sure has been normal for a long time. Gee,I just saw the third green volkswagen beetle today......sure are a lot of them.
  13. Invitations were not passed on. According to Canuck's standards, Harper is a no good bastard who should burn in hell for not attending D-Day events, right? I think Dion should have gone to the event but let's just say that Harper has set the standard for not attending historic events even when he has gotten an invitation. The Star or Canada.com? March 30,2007 Harper offers opposition seats to Vimy commemoration "We also expect to joined by Michael Ignatieff, deputy Liberal leader, Joe Comartin of the NDP, and Roger Gaudet of the Bloc Quebecois. Speaker Peter Milliken is also set to travel to Vimy." Toronto Star If you're going to burn someone on Hell, make sure the burning includes Martin and Layton.
  14. The kids did go on the taxpayers dime. School divisions, city governments, provinces and some federal grants are all paying for the trip. Harper had no excuse for not inviting the Opposition to the delegation. Dion had no excuse for not going. Pox on both their houses. CBC Dion the French citizen should have gone to show his appreciation of Canadian soldiers. There is absolutely no excuse,he should have pretended he had balls.
  15. He certainly didn't see fit to invite Opposition members to attend. And that is a reason they could not go? Three thousand kids went, without Harper's invite or the taxpayer's dime. Maybe the opposition could do the same, because they actually feel and think it's important enough to go,invite or not. But we know they don't feel that way about the military, past or present.
  16. It may be to his advantage, but,if he waits until the fall, a lot of media types and especially Dion will look foolish by constantly saying Harper wants to have an election this spring and it didn't happen. If there is an election this spring it will because of Dion and not Harper.
  17. geffery, Your signature: How do I say this politely......................Hmmmmmmm,..............maybe,just maybe you should.....ah,forget the money, and ah,.........get a life.
  18. The reporter's had more class than Holland, they waited til the garbage was put out at the curb.
  19. Why can't you admit Danny doesn't ever want to give, only take?
  20. Ergo, the left is doing it. Nicely done.
  21. The right has always been viewed as antisemitic. The left being mentioned is something relatively new. Yes I call it insignificant. The number of cases in Manitoba were reduced of 27 to 25, in my book that is insignificant. Harassment was reduced from 23 to 13 a reduction of 43%.That's good. Vandalism increased from 4 to 12 cases, which included substantial damage to three synagogues. Although the overall reduction was 7.4% it doesn't reflect the amount of the four fold increase in vandal damage that was inflicted to the Jews in Manitoba. That to me is significant. I am talking of Manitoba only because you seem to think the reduction in antisemitism in Manitoba is something to be thankful for, I don't see that.As for Quebec, the incidents outside of Montreal are really insignificant also, since of the 226 cases, only 11 are outside of Montreal. Then I believe you should have stated your concerned with the four fold increase of vandalism in Manitoba and the substantial increase in damage caused to the synagogues in that province. In numbers of total cases in Canada (935)reported in 2006, I would be concerned with Montreal(215) at 23% of Canadian cases, rather than the province of Quebec(11). My concern would be more with Greater Toronto(445) at 47.6% of cases in Canada. Together these two cities account for 70.6% of the total in Canada. Both cities that always vote heavily to the left.
  22. I agree with their assessment of Manitoba's antisemitism.Any insignificant reduction in antisemitism is nothing to be pleased about. What is even more alarming is the turn of the "left" to becoming antisematic. Antisemitism and Racism
  23. You're applauding the cause of the healthcare problem as the saviour. Too little too late, and still he did nothing but make promises he didn't keep. In his 1995 "deficit slaying" budget, Paul Martin cut $6.3 billion from provincial transfer payments, leaving health care massively underfunded. All when he had the largest budget surplus in history and Canadians were saying that health care was their top priority. Let's go back to 2004 and review what Paul Martin said he would do,and how much was done in the following two years. Provinces cautious of Liberal's multi-billion dollar health-care plan So much for Martin being the healthcare doctor.
