  1. Fall provincial election Calvert's preference ....something Calvert learned from Danny.
  2. Sounds like a nice idea but that's not the way they want it. Sweetheart Deal
  3. Sure, and while they are at it, Ontario can make a claim to the resources of Alberta? Nice try,but sorry, that's provincial juristiction.Oceans are Federal juristiction.
  4. Sounds like their logic for equalization payments......they've always been tied to the payments, and thus the payments should always be tied to them.
  5. Then maybe Ontario or Manitoba should also make claim to the resources offshore if the Feds are giving up Federal ownership to Newfoundland and Nova Scotia? Everybody makes a big deal about the constitution and rights held within, and how it's a big deal to "open" the consitution to make changes, what happened here? I don't remember a declaration to the right to"give" away ownership to whoever the Feds wish.
  6. The Federal government owns the offshore resources as stated in the constitution. How is it that the maritime provinces has nulified this ownership and claimed it as theirs. Legally they should get nothing from oil revenues found offshore.Claiming broken promises and accords, in reality Williams and the rest have no right to make any kind of deal with any oil company over a juristiction that belongs to the Feds. are the Feds being too nice to the Maritimes and are the Maritimes just being too greedy? Sweetheart Deal
  7. Most people in the poll probably didn't know enough about the Atlantic Accord when polled and as usual sided with the "small guy". Now with the Ontario media on side with Harper's stand in the Atlantic Accord dispute, and the fact this issue involves money coming out of Ontario's pocket, I can't see Ontario siding with the Maritimes anytime in the future. Who's going to support a party that wants to take more than their fair share from one province in order to make another province richer than them.
  8. One little issue you forgot in your analogy, the $ the parent is giving to some of the kids comes from their brothers and sisters . Is that fair?
  9. Stephane Dion and Elizabeth May begin talking about the next election and decide they can save a lot of money by campaigning together. Someone comes up with the perfect vehicle for them to use for travelling across the country, a double-decker bus. After painting the bus with slogans, they decide that the Greens will ride in the bottom of the bus and the Liberals will ride in the top level. The Green team down below is having a great time, when one of Green worker realizes she doesn't hear anything from the Liberals upstairs. She decides to go up and investigate. When the worker reaches the top, she finds all the Liberals frozen in fear, staring straight ahead at the road, and clutching the seats in front of them with white knuckles. She says, "What the heck's goin' on up here? We're havin' a grand time downstairs!" One of the Liberals looks up and says, "Yeah, but you've got a driver!!"
  10. Don't know what this study is, but a psychology department could do an excellent study on a daily obsession by individuals who like to read their own words and somehow feel they are important enough to spend most of their awake hours each day writing to an audience of like individuals. It would be interesting to see why these individuals "don't have a life" important enough to spend this same amount of time away from the screen doing something more productive.
  11. The old man was critically ill. Feeling that death was near, he called his lawyer. "I want to become a member of the Liberal Party of Canada, get me a registration form." "You can do it", the lawyer said, "But why? You'll be dead soon, why do you want to become a Liberal?" "That's my business!" said the old man, 'Get me the form!" Four days later, the old man got his registration and was officially a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. His lawyer was at his bedside. Suddenly the old man was racked with fits of coughing, and it was clear that this would be the end. Still curious, the lawyer leaned over and said, "Please, before it's too late, tell me why you wanted to become a Liberal so badly before you died?" In a faint whisper, as he breathed his last, the old man said: "One less Liberal".
  12. What a wonderful out for the Queen of Green. She quits the Green party, becomes a Liberal and keeps trying to be a MP in Nova Scotia. I'm sure the Libs can find her more than the pittance $50,000 the Greens are giving her.
  13. 'Broke' May threatened to quit leadership Will she stay or will she go?
  14. Amazing, when the politicians want to do the "small steps" thing Suzuki rants on about not doing enough. How come Ontario's coal fired generators doesn't get the condemnation it deserves from Suzuki? And how much $$$$ is Ontario Hydro contributing to the Suzuki foundation for this "volunteer" work?
  15. A Canadian political party is like a tree full of monkeys, all on different limbs at different levels. Some monkeys are climbing up, some down. The monkeys on top look down and see a tree full of smiling faces. The monkeys on the bottom look up and see nothing but assholes.

  17. You'll have to explain to me who in Afghanistan is fighting a "civil war"?
  18. Green Party-A New Energy Revolution to Avert Global Catastrophe. Carbon tax, carbon budget.....never heard of a government that gave back the tax money to those it took it from. Are Canadians going to open up their wallets for the May or Dion plan? Somehow I don't think so.
  19. Leger poll reveals he's the fourth most popular leader in Quebec Congratulations to Mr.Dion for making it into the top 5 in Quebec and in the top 3 for the rest of Canada.
  20. Two doctors and a government health minister are killed in a train wreck and line up at the Pearly Gates for admission to heaven. Saint Peter asks them to identify themselves. One doctor steps forward and says, "I was a pediatric spine surgeon. I helped hundreds of kids overcome their deformities." Saint Peter says, "Enter." The other doctor says, "I was a psychiatrist. I helped rehabilitate thousands of people." Saint Peter nods and invites him into heaven. The third applicant steps forward and says, "I was a government health minister. I helped countless people get cost-effective health care." Saint Peter tells him, "You can come in, too." As the government health minister walks by, Saint Peter adds, "But you have to get in that line over there and when you do get in, you can only stay for 3 days."
  21. Once again you mention my posting in a Manitoba thread, and once again I'll tell you I post where I wish. Your suspicions and your conclusions are yours, your baiting is obvious.
  22. I would say that I have the right to post where I wish and for my reasons and mine alone. You don't have a monopoly on any threads that are posted here, including threads you start. You do not have to reply to anyones comment.........but you do. Probably for the same reason everyone here comments to another's posts. We aren't here just to listen to you pitch your views and accept those views especially if we disagree with them. Everyone has the right to post to anothers comment, that's the point of rebuttal and debating and in having a political forum. I would suggest that if the game doesn't suit you........ you find another sport, because here we all want to be players and the rules say we are all entitled to play. And as you know...........the right to play as much, and as often as we wish. It's something known as Freedom of Expression.
  23. It's extremely difficult not to follow or comment on statements from someone who heavily posts. Far more times daily than most. Add to that someone who has a very strong partisan stance. One would have to question who's prompting who in making a rebuttal comment? Can this be considered a form of trolling?
