Tory manual on running a smooth democracy
Canuck E Stan replied to BC_chick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Are you about to start that "scary, scary, scary"stuff again? -
The question is about high gas prices, you can complain, make excuses, or you can do something. If you think the gas for your SUV is costing you too much for that hour and a half drive to work and that two hour return trip to your 3000 square foot house, then you should consider what your options are. Too many people refuse to look at any options and there are many. Raise the price to $7.00 a litre, and watch how more people take a harder look at the options, and all of them will be good for the environment, I guarantee it.

Tory manual on running a smooth democracy

No comment on the handbook? I'm surprised. A few years ago the Liberal's handed the voter's a real doozy of a manual for good government, it was called the "Red Book". -
Metamorphasis of fraud - No Warming-Triggered Ice Age
Canuck E Stan replied to jbg's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, if we're going to go after articles here's one from today. So where's the debate? Love that debate denier- gut feeling science....it's so.....scientific. -
Too many people live too far away from their place of employment. Change your place of employment or change the place you live. Why is Vancouver so pricey for housing? Because people pay for the outrageous asking price. Too costly and hard to find help? Move to PEI and get a house on 2 acres for $58,000, that will leave lots of cash from the sale of the Vancouver home to hire a local to do gardering.

Of course Dion says we can make money on the environment. That's good news, but how long will it take before those big environmental bucks start to roll in? Especially after the auto manufacturing sector in Ontario collapses(Windsor is at 10% unemployment now) and no one can afford to pay the heating bills. That will teach about conservation of energy. Raise that price to $5.oo a litre, the sooner the rise the sooner the Dion environmental bucks will pour in.
-
Inadequate? Why would the then environment minister Dion plan an environmental strategy for the future that makes it inadequate two years later? Doesn't say much for Liberal environment policy. The Tories playing games? Who's running the government here? The Liberals in opposition are trying to set the agenda, thinking they're still running the government. Sorry, you'll have to win an election to do that.
-
Now everyone is claiming to be bringing back a hockey team to the 'Peg. Will it be the Winnipeg Dippers, the Winnipeg Cons or the Winnipeg Lost?
-
Exactly. Everyone is green in their thoughts, but not in their actions. I'm ready,go ahead, raise gas to $3.00 a litre.
-
Why play politics with the environment if it so important? The opposition wasn't happy with Clean Air Act,so the opposition changed it.So much so, that it didn't resemble the Tories original bill, so the Tories weren't happy. Now we have a plan that's supposedly a clone of Dion's 2005 plan, that should have pleased Dion and the Liberals. Forget the Clean Air bill, this one should have the approval of both the Conservatives and the Liberals. Dion could even flaunt this one as his plan and give everyone a "I told you so". So why the delay?
-
First point, Gas prices WILL keep going up,have you checked the price in Europe? Second point, remember the environment? This is all for the good of the number one issue that Canadians feel is important in the country. This is supposed to make people cut back on their use of gas, buy smaller cars and save the planet. You are for saving the planet, aren't you? It's for the good of the environment, so suck it up.

Good for you. I'll look forward to your book about how you did it, and can't wait for your inspirational and motivational speaches. May I recommend Speaker's Spotlight ,they can get you $10,000-$20,000 for a speaking engagement where you tell everyone about why money isn't important in life. -
Tory manual on running a smooth democracy
Canuck E Stan replied to BC_chick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
How anyone can say a minority government is the best government for this country, isn't looking at what's happening at the moment in Canadian politics. This is what you get when you have multiple parties in a minority government situation. Foot dragging on bills by politicians who play politics with each other will never move the government forward. This will only happen when a majority government can set the agenda. -
Haper & his Cons compassion for Canada
Canuck E Stan replied to hiti's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
McGuinty just spent 19.5 million for Toronto's immigrants from a provincial Liberal slush fund, give him a call,I'm sure he's got $38,000 lying around for Toronto kids. Too bad you neglected the rest of the article. So what are you raggin' about? -

Top ten myths about global warming MYTH 1: Global temperatures are rising at a rapid, unprecedented rate. MYTH 2: The "hockey stick" graph proves that the earth has experienced a steady, very gradual temperature increase for 1000 years, then recently began a sudden increase. MYTH 3: Human produced carbon dioxide has increased over the last 100 years, adding to the Greenhouse effect, thus warming the earth. MYTH 4: CO2 is the most common greenhouse gas. MYTH 5: Computer models verify that CO2 increases will cause significant global warming. MYTH 6: The UN proved that man–made CO2 causes global warming. MYTH 7: CO2 is a pollutant. MYTH 8: Global warming will cause more storms and other weather extremes. MYTH 9: Receding glaciers and the calving of ice shelves are proof of global warming. MYTH 10: The earth’s poles are warming; polar ice caps are breaking up and melting and the sea level rising. See Link for reasons. Question capitalism, Trudeau tells students
Canuck E Stan replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
According to that website, he costs $10,000 to $20,000. You can get his mom for between $5,000 to $10,000. Doesn't surprise me. They must have raised his fee since he became the Liberal wanna-be MP. Not bad pay for an hour and a half of giving dramatic Hamlet- like speeches. In fact, Hamlet's eulogy sounds a lot like Justin's speeches. Must be where he gets his inspiration. -

Do you have proof he has brains to question anything? Just give it time, and St. Justin will put both feet into that mouth of his... again, and Dion will have to put him in his place... again and probably....again after that. This over sized ego really thinks he's smart enough to be PM. -
Question capitalism, Trudeau tells students
Canuck E Stan replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
At 36 years of age, Justin Trudeau has collected a paycheque for actually 9-5 job a total of 4 years, as a drama teacher in a private school in Vancouver. Woo-hoo what a great accomplishement for a 36 year old. Now he travels around the country giving his opinion of life as he sees it. Trudeau dazzles Justin Trudeau and Capitalism or This is How I Make Money. I don't know how many of you realize that this invite to Justin(I'm a regular guy, like you)Trudeau wasn't some trip that Justin took because he cares for these kids, or are any of the other trips he makes to groups around the country. This trip is Justin's cash in the bank and has been since his dramatic eulogy speech(well done for a drama teacher) back in 2000. Getting Justin cost this and other groups somewhere in the neighboourhood of $5,000-$7,000 plus expenses. He's been on the road promoting himself for years and he's no fool.....just making easy money. The fools here are the people who actually pay this guy, just to hear his views for an hour and a half, on anything he wants to talk about. And I bet, from what he's been saying, he probably wings it as he goes along. What a way to make a livng, being Daddy's boy and getting big bucks to have people get close to one of Pierre's developed sperms. I'm sure Justin gets a paychequehonourarium for every group he's an honourary chairman for,and there are lots. If you would like to have Justin or even his Mom come and show their face at your function, contact: Speakers' Spotlight They may even give you a 2 for 1 deal. And this guy thinks he can represent a poor working class riding? Give me a break. -
CBC's take on altar boys blasphemy
Canuck E Stan replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If The Boys of St. Vincents was supposed to be a comedy series like the Altar Boys or Little Mosque, then I'm sorry, but you'll have to tell where I was supposed to laugh,I just didn't get the humour. -
It's part of Figleaf's "Obscuring art in the service of censorship". In this poll you get to make up the question. Mine is: Which one of these issues didn't start when Liberals were in charge?

Obviously you're not a fan of micro beweries. It is Canadians, who make this Canadian beer right here in Canada with Canadian employees. These Canadians have given us Canadian beer drinkers more choice for the type of Canadian beer we have can drink. Produced here in Canada, both at the local level and sold at the national level. Canadian beer is now more than bland Molsons and Labatts and Canadians love it. These micros are truly Canadian and it's refreshing to go to a pub locally and get a "fresh" beer,or to go to other parts of Canada and sample the beer made there. Canadian micro beer is far more Canadian than you think.
