  1. I'm beginning to wonder if this brouhaha isn't all planned in order to take the heat off Trudeau for all his fumbling and faux pas likely give him some points for standing up to the Saudis', but I doubt they expected such a knee jerk reaction. If they can get his numbers up this Fall they could call a snap election but I'm thinking instead they will prorougue Parliament then try resetting the agenda.

  2. $50 million goes to Hamas from Canada? Where did you get that? Any concerns about the $4,000,000,000 that U.S. gives to Israel each year that Israel uses to bomb Palestinians? Or do you not like talking about that?

  3. You're merely focusing on the amount of suppression and methods that they do and use (Trudeau and Saudi) - of course, there's no comparison with the amount of loss of freedom, also the killings and withholding grants as punishment. I'm saying Trudeau is as much a violator of human rights (freedom to express and freedom of Religion) since he's also suppressing them. An analogy would be someone who stole 1 million dollars (Saudi) and another who stole 10 dollars (Trudeau) - though the amount are not comparable - both are still thieves. "I stole only $10 dollars," doesn't mean you're not a thief. A thief has no business condemning other thieves, and preaching against stealing. You and I aren't on the same page.

  4. No this is a wrong title. The row should be like this; Israel invades Palestine, Hamas resists to invasion and Israel keeps comitting crime, yes this the true row.

  5. No concerns about helping out Israel which is fighting for it's very survival against a group which wants nothing less than it's destruction and all Jews dead. If Hamas quit attacking Israel and looked after it's people there would be peace. Hamas should think about it's people before spending it's aid money on rockets etc. It's now time for Israel to go in and take control of Gaza, their survival might depend on it.

  6. In BC last week the police put the Red scorpion gang out of business over 100 firearms, tons of drugs and $800,000 in cash recovered saving countless lives. All the Liberals can do is fabricate statistics to demonize law-abiding citizens. Deflection is the key behind Trudeau's government instead of dealing with hard issues likr drugs and gangs.

  7. I find the taking down of the first PM statue in B.C. totally abhorrent but maybe they should take down Tommy Douglas statue because he wrote a thesis on eugenics and the sub normal family which is a pretty horrific read these days. I'd say many notable figures have done something wrong, but I guess they only get torn down if they are conservative.

  8. Some others like Scribblet have a habit of making comments without backing them up. When questioned, they either don't respond or try to change the subject. If you could, please back it up with links as I have not been able to find anything that matches Scribblet's comments - Here are a couple of questions: 1) How much is Canada sending to Hamas? 2) How do we know it's going to Hamas and not to the Palestinians? 3) How do you feel about the over $4 billion+/year the U.S. sends to Israel which has resulted in the killing of thousands of Palestinians, hundreds of thousands of maimed Palestinians and billions of dollars in homes leveled?

  11. That's just not true, one of my co-workers is from South Africa. Good guy, hard worker, tells me he's really glad to be here - his kids are always all over him. Big happy family. I also took a family out just last week who recently moved from Cape Town, they live in Toronto, he's a GP, she's a nurse and the kids are in junior high. Really nice people. We need more nice people, I don't care where they come from.

  13. It tells you quotas are working because farmers can survive without subsidies. That's the whole idea behind supply management and why it was brought in to replace subsidies resulting from boom bust markets. A subsidized price is an artificial price. A lot of American farmers would like to see some sort of supply management. The American dairy farmer's greetest fear these days is having a dairy tell them they don't want their milk and that is what is happening to many of them. Why don't we just get rid or all our agriculture and just buy food subsidized by other countries? Hell, we don't need the contribution to our GDP that agriculture makes and we don't need to be able to feed ourselves.

  14. Polls do not determine global power...power determines global power. The world was just delighted when Germany was last a true "global power". ...Germany, Russia, and China are not part of NAFTA.

  17. I think left wing/progressive politicians simply and uncritically ignore any connection between large-scale immigration and their oft-stated concerns about the alienation of indigenous communities. The whole thing becomes somewhat comical when one considers that some self-styled proigressive non-white immigrants are now distancing themselves from the assumed past abuse of indigenous peoples by the "settler" population by declaring themselves definitionally excluded by virtue of their non-European ancestry. But as I've asked in a forum topic I started on this site, who and what is a "settler"? Most Canadians who have ancestry extending back for more than a couple generations are of mixed ethnic descent. My father's ancestry, while mixed in its own right, might warrant the "settler" designation as his father's French ancestors arrived in Canada in the 17th century. But his Portuguese and Irish ancestors' failings in reference to indigenous abuse are somewhat more difficult to sustain. And what about my mother, who immigrated to Canada following WWII? Can her role as an assumed abuser be established solely on race? And me? As a person of clearly mixed although Caucasian ancestry, including having an immigrant mother, am I guilty solely as a result of race? This appears to be what the "settler" mentality crowd would appear to believe to be the case (i.e. If you're white, you're guilty!), in which case the whole thing becomes a morass of repugnant racialist ideology. We need to move past this nonsense - if only progressives would permit rational discussion and debate on the topic.

  19. Really like the way they blended three different guitar parts into one at the end of this song- the Beatles Day Tripper, Rolling Stones Can't Get No Satisfaction, and the April Wine I Like to Rock riff.
