  1. Lol groups have no rights eh? I guess that whole women's movement was a crock then. Better they stay in the kitchen barefoot and pregnant and leave all the important decisions like voting to us men. Hows life as a neanderthal going? ?

  2. When my partner had back surgery, he was right next to a nurses station so that all three nurses could monitor him for his first two days (in case the bunch of pain killers he was taking for the pain caused him to OD). There were other 4 or 5 other patients in that ward, but none who was as sick as him. At that time, there was no Covid so the resources were available for the care he needed. Patients in the hospital with Covid on oxygen and on ventilators also need a lot of monitoring, and for longer than a couple of days. But resources for that care not there because there are so many patients, burnout of medical care and the departure of nurses and other medical staff due to the stress of this pandemic. You have no clue, so STFU.

  4. God it is in the first line of the Charter rights from God > privileges from governments if rights were mere privileges, there would be no need for a constitution, to protect those rights from government infringement

  6. rights are not privileges you have them confused the government doesn't grant you rights the government is prevented from taking them away laws which strip rights away are unconstitutional and are supposed to be struck down by the courts even when they fail to do so hate speech laws are unconstitutional

  7. Queen you got some good ideas, but the 70 % is grossly over estimated, we are barely reaching over 1 %... Yes according to the liberals we spend more than that, yes but we take into account things that no other nations do....like vets / civilian pensions, emergency preparedness, SAR, RCMP drug raids, fisheries patrols, coast Guard activities. assisting CSIS . They eat into an already small budget. Canada has signed onto many defense agreements and has no intention of living up to any of them, not just this government goin g back 40, 50 years... Justin signed on to the agreement of spending 2 % GDP, and then days later said he had no intention of living up to that agreement....He had a chance to make a point before he signed onto it... he could have refused and made a stronger point , forcing Canada to look at it's foreign policies and military commitments, but is has not made it on an election cycle for sometime...and it is not Justins fault, our government do the very minimum to get elected, if it is not popular with Canadians it does not see the light.. We have the military we have today because Canadians want it that way...

  8. But we can say that the hate speech laws have been useless to deter hate and racism in Europe. The US's problem with racism comes from their history, not their present. Ours, like that of the Western Europeans, comes from immigration.

  9. I never understood why the leftist governments in Canada & USA refuse to take an 'all hands on deck' approach to fighting covid. They were against blocking flights, they said 'no masks', they fought against HCQ like it was the anti-Christ, etc. The fact of the matter is that vaccines have never been great at fighting the flu, and they were still a long way away when leftists suddenly stopped being vaccine skeptics and started vilifying every other method of fighting covid. Their herd mentality is really something to behold.

  10. And this is what a super spreader of illegals looks like in Dal Rio Texas. And here's what's happening with them: https://nypost.com/2021/09/24/biden-cleared-out-del-rio-camp-by-letting-most-haitians-in-guaranteeing-more-crises-down-the-line/

  11. In fact, here's the American Department of Home Security Secretary supporting the claim Illegals are coming through untested.

  12. I grew up in a small, rural and still pretty conservative area - as in they primarily vote conservative and in the last election, voted in another conservative. Yet, on social issues they are mostly left-leaning and we agree more than we disagree; it's really only on fiscal management that I would call them conservative and even then we're not that far apart. Right-leaning people on this forum sound like the people in my hometown, on steroids. The hatred expressed here for 'lefties' isn't found among the conservatives in my family or their community at large; their attitude seems to be that we have different political ideas and while mine are pretty stupid, I'm not an evil person who deserves to be drawn and quartered. My partner often listens to right-wing radio stations and rants about how the world as we know it is being destroyed by things like immigration, Canada's debt, children being forced to change gender and other right-wing complaints though he hasn't gotten to "woke" people yet. Yet, he consistently votes NDP because at heart he believes that people deserve respect and equality, and that government shouldn't be swayed by Big Business lobbyists; he doesn't see either Conservatives or Liberals actually supporting what he believes is important, so he votes NDP because they do promise those things, are untried and might be better than our current choices. The point being that your relatives are not much different than the rest of Canadians - it's you that sees them as being part of the 'enemy'. Partisans on both sides demonize the other. Demonizing means that lies must be told about the other side in order to make them seem more unreasonable than they really are, and insist that the other ideology will destroy our culture and society. Both are equally wrong, imo. (I've also made that mistake, and must remind myself that we're not that different, and that it's wrong to paint all conservatives as unreasonable based on what I see on this forum.)
