I sensed a big change in the weather when Trudeau's teddy bear photo op flopped. Normally that would have been a glorious moment for him but it landed like a turkey from a helicopter. I know a lot of Canadians who never saw it, so it didn't get a ton of coverage, but he was universally seen to be using dead children as an election prop, even among Liberal sycophants. In that moment, even if O'Toole was just standing still he took a big leap forward. He's not seen as divisive or as a big user of people, just a guy with a tough job to do. IMO the bloom is off the rose, and that's all there ever was in this instance. The quote that sums him up best is still Leo Knight's : "Trudeau is the Kim Kardashian of political leaders, an all-style, no substance bimbo with all the depth of a puddle." In 2019 their crusade from the last 20 years (climate change) was reported as the biggest election issue, and yet the Greens were still unable to gain any ground on anyone. IMO their embarrassing loser of a leader just caps their party's potential as 'a sideshow' at best. No one takes them seriously. Bernier strikes a chord with conservatives who are furious with Trudeau's inept and vacuous leadership. There are atheists & religious devotees who would vote for Satan right now if they thought that he could beat Trudeau and they're not happy with "Trudeau-lite".2 points

Vaccinated people can be infected. Unvaccinated people can be infected. Unvaccinated people have a greater chance of being infected than vaccinated people. "Unvaccinated people are 22 time more likely to be infected therefore they have a much greater chance of infecting others for this simple reason. " -We are forgetting one major point. The individual must be infected, if they are not infected there are no grounds for transmission. If an individual is infected they can and should self isolate, preventing infection. most unvaccinated people are not infected, most vaccinated people are not infected. Both can be infected, but we have the choice at this moment, either we assume everyone is infected or we do not assume everyone is infected. If the goal is to have a society where only uninfected people are allowed into public spaces, the only option would be to test all individuals upon entrance into the public spaces. This means vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals would get a quick test before entering a public space or possibly their homes.2 points

Maybe it just demonstrates the opponents are NOT reasonable.1 point

This is utter nonsense. The new variants began appearing well before vaccines were released.1 point

Of course, if the idiot unvaccinated would GET vaccinated, those restrictions would be a lot fewer.1 point

There is only one solution to all of this covid nonsense. Stop listening to those many traitor politicians and the traitor media that have been feeding us for almost two years worth of bull shit regards covid. When the sheeple stop listening to those liars and spreaders of bullshit we will get back our freedoms and rights again. We will once again get back to the old normal days and ways where one could do or go anywhere or be able to do anything without first being told that they must be fully vaccinated. We once had freedom and rights. Now we pretty much have communism. Get ready for the next new covid virus to come on the scene. It is called the "MU" virus. Look it up on the internet. Booster shots galore will be coming our way. Oh the joy of it all. ?1 point

The next big and dangerous new variant virus that will soon come around will be what they now are starting to call it the "MU" virus. It's been hanging around in some of those Latin American countries lately. And of course the sheeple will be told once again that they may need to be vaccinated for this next covid virus variant. It will never end, folks. The powers to be will not let it go. The globalist establishment will be trying to convince the stupid and the stunned out there that this virus is worse than than Delta virus and that the sheeple will be told that they may have to take another vaccine for this new "MU" virus. Will the sheeple fall for this one this time? I believe that they will. Once stupid, always stupid. It's so Canadian to be and act stupid. Aw well. Let the stupid carry on. They are what the globalists call "useful idiots". Sadly, Canada is so full of useful and stupid idiots. Just saying. ?1 point

Great let us take say 3 weeks add up the numbers: Starting August 13 2021, to September 3 2021. Unvaccinated - 8728 tested positive, 1546 ICU, 2348 hospitalized ( those removed from public contact) Vaccinated - 4240 tested positive, 329 ICU, 731 hospitalized ( those removed from public contact) Unvaccinated infected 4834 possibly active in the public. ( assuming they all do not self isolate) Vaccinated infected 3180 possibly active in the public.( assuming they all do not self isolate) Out of 607 unvaccinated individuals, 1 is positive and may be contagious. 0.165 % chance of contact. These numbers assume all these individuals ignore direct orders to self isolate. Out of 3417 vaccinated individuals, 1 is positive and my be contagious. 0.0293 % chance of contact. These numbers assume all these individuals ignore direct orders to self isolate. "See your own calculation method PROVED my point stated earlier to which you disagreed" - No it did not, your point was Unvaccinated people are a higher risk to the public, incorrect. Rather your point should state infected unvaccinated people are a higher risk to the public by the numbers. Stating unvaccinated healthy uninfected people are a higher risk to the public is not correct. How many people do you interact with on a daily basis? More than 600? If like most people you interact with under 100 people per day, your risk of contact is incredibly small. Now given most of the infected individuals will self isolate once tested positive for Covid, the risk goes to near 0 for the general uninfected public. Thus, mandating restrictions or vaccination passports is not required. If anything is required it would be quick testing methods upon entry or daily testing. I am not in favor of either, since the risk is incredibly low for the general public we can open back up and continue life as per usual, maybe for safe caution keep the 6 ft distance. https://covid-19.ontario.ca/data https://data.ontario.ca/en/dataset/covid-19-vaccine-data-in-ontario/resource/274b819c-5d69-4539-a4db-f2950794138c https://data.ontario.ca/en/dataset/covid-19-vaccine-data-in-ontario/resource/eed63cf2-83dd-4598-b337-b288c0a89a161 point

This actually reminds me more of the "caesar salad special" train and Justin's own trouble wth protestors lol. Back when P.E. Trudeau was PM he gave the finger to a bunch of people in Salmon Arm BC who were protesting (because of the growing inflation and Trudeau's attack on the resource sector), and then the train was pelted with vegetables and rocks the rest of the way through Canada. Now Justin is facing seriously angry protestors while he's out trying to campaign, and it's got a lot to do with his attacks on the energy sector and inflation as well (of course there's much more to the protests against Justin but that's an aside).1 point

There you go! And take note that once implemented, these tyrannical laws are hard to dismantle. I suppose you're still wearing pants, aren't you?1 point

From . . . nationalpost.com . . . . and . . . . ipolitics.ca "In first leaders debate, Trudeau hints at another election in 18 months if denied majority."1 point

People can read what I post too. i AM SAYING THE RISK OF BEING INFECTED IS SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER IN UNVACCINATED PEOPLE AND HENCE THEY CARRY A MUCH HIGHER RISK OF TRANSMISSION.1 point

No, when a person makes unhealthy choices in lifestyle he or she only harms himself or herself and has the right to do so whereas in vaccine refusal case he or she harms himself or herself as well as others. A very wrong analogy. He or she has no right to do so.1 point

You really re taking the weirdest stance I've seen on this site, and that's really a high bar to surpass. O'Toole clearly isn't anything like Trudeau nor would he govern anything like Trudeau. He's not conservative enough to suit me but he's one hell of a lot less of an arrogant snot of a progressive identity politics idiot than Trudeau.1 point

The purists are mostly anti-abortion, and will not find a home in the PPC. A lot of them are from out West, too, and will have no love of a party with a very Quebecois leader. The only thing the PPC really has going for it is their promise to lower immigration.1 point

Trudeau threatens Canada with another election in 18 months if he doesn't get his majority! A few minutes later Trudeau said that if he only obtained another minority there could be another election in 18 months' time, which would make it the eighth federal vote in 19 years. https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/canadas-trudeau-struggling-campaign-defensive-over-election-call-first-debate-2021-09-03/ This election wasn't even necessary to begin with! And there he was, on national tv, threatening to plunge us back into a costly, unnecessary election! Everything that's plague-ing us will be back on-hold for more weeks of campaigning! While we're all grappling with a 4th wave - while our economy is struggling to get back on its feet - while people are worried about the rising cost of living - while the cattle industry is on the brink of collapse - while natural disasters are happening everywhere (just look at the flood in NYC) - all he damn cares about is his majority!1 point

I have to ask ,has all the governments information, been based on science or medical facts, and have those facts been 100 % correct. The reason i ask is i know of dozens of mistakes that have been made or made then reversed then made again, because the facts were based on someone's best guesses. and they are still being made this way...or decisions are made on what they think the population will react to the least... lets take a trip down memory lane, we are in Somalia, and a new untested drug call mefloquine was thought to be the next best drug to combat malaria it was totally safe, approved by our Health care institutions at the time, thousands of troops would be the the lab rats... it was to be taken once a week, huge horse pills, in our camp that was every Tuesday, or would later be known as Psycho Tuesdays because the entire camp would be on this drug that induced very vivid nightmares, remember everyone was armed to the teeth, with access to every wpn system we had in the military... Years later many soldiers would end up suing the military for it's deadly side effects such as suicide, and many other medical effects on the body... And yet we were told it is safe it has passed all protocols... and yet nobody could explain every Tuesday and the severe nightmares, severe panic attacks, etc... you would be lucky to get any sleep... most of us slept with a loaded rifle on the side of my cot safety on, and a loaded pistol safety off under my pillow... how no one got shot is a miracle. History is also full of other examples of government standing up and saying this medication is perfectly safe, it's good for you... and yet we wonder why we have some people with doubts about how effective or how safe are these medications, and to add further complications anyone that does not want the vaccinations are treated like a someone with aids...1 point

I think that's the term for metaphorical hari-kari. No, this is more like "blew up in his face". Classic Liberal hubris à la David Peterson. O'Toole seems to be driving the purists out of the Conservative party though and pushing the PPC skyward towards double-digit support... or half-way there anyway. Don't ever bet on feeling good in politics is my advice. Commuppence never seems as sweet as the pain of defeat is my experience.1 point

What is that statement based on, any facts or evidence? The numbers are known and up to now they can be attributed to voluntary compliance. Are you expecting perfect 100% compliance? At this point the question can be asked, is it genuinely about safety and epidemics, or about looking for and appointing scapegoats because something is not working as expected and we haven't a clue why.1 point

O'Toole is a Liberal in Conservative clothing which is what the CBC is praising him for cucking on climate change they don't care that much which Liberal wins, just that someone pushing the Liberal agenda wins if you can't see that CBC is biased, it's because you share their bias hell even many who share their bias know they are biased, which just makes your blindness to it that much more suspect1 point

Trudeau is not, and never has been fit to lead this country. I think he has a personality disorder, or has psychopathic tendencies.1 point

CBC and CTV are among the media that manipulate viewers..........and, they try to manipulate the election outcome thru their manipulated "news."1 point

It's interesting that the PPC seems to be ahead of the Greens even when they either get ignored or get negative coverage. The CBC won't mention them by name, they put them as "other". CTV apparently has a daily map showing where the Party leaders are, but not Maxime Bernier. I expect as much from the MSM.1 point
