Let me suggest a more rightward platform which would not turn off most centrist Canadians. 1) On immigration. We would be cutting immigration in half (63% of Canadians want lower immigration) but also holding a study, done by unbiased experts, to determine what exactly immigration is capable of doing for us, what it is presently doing for us, and how to best adjust our immigrant mix and level for best results. This would include wide input from average Canadians (as opposed to biased interest groups), demographics experts and economists 2) On Health Care. We would be eliminating the Canada Health Act. We will instead adopt the best of European health care systems. This will include talks with the provinces to centralize health care financing so that there is just one health insurance payment system for all Canadians, and centralizing the purchase of drugs. We will be working with the provinces to increase the number of doctors and the number of senior care facilities 3) On Taxation. We will be reorganizing the tax system into a graduated flat tax, and increasing the GST, which would play a larger role in taxation as income tax drops. 4) On The military. The world is getting more dangerous and alliances have become shaky. We would immediately buy 100 F-35s, new APCs for the army, and would pressure shipbuilders to speed up construction of new warships. 5) We would work to remove agents of China's United Front, close down Confucius institutes, and work towards lowering the number of Chinese students in Canada. We would also put tariffs on Chinese imports and begin to restrict those imports unless China stops targeting Canadian imports, releases Canadians held unjustly in prison, and acts to restrict fentanyl exports to Canada. Chinese companies would not be permitted to buy out Canadian companies. 6) On natives. We would work to eliminate the Indian Act, and start working on relocating natives (voluntarily) who live on uneconomical reserves towards urban centres where they can find work. This might involve buying up land closer in towards urban centres, and possibly creating more 'urban reserves'. We would redirect money now paid to band offices to individual band members, who could then be taxed by their bands. Their homes would become their property, along with the land under them. 7) We would use federal powers to eliminate interprovincial trade barriers, which are estimated to cost the economy $130 billion per year. 8) End all marketing boards 9 lower corporate taxes but also eliminate dividend deduction and capital gains deduction for dividends or capital gains from equities over $250k per year. 10) Require evaluations of resource projects to be completed within a maximum of two years. 11) On guns. Minimum 2 year sentence (no parole) for anyone smuggling weapons into Canada or selling weapons illegally. Second offense raise that to 5 years. Third offense to 10 years.2 points

The media has Trump Derangement Syndrome, don't trust world headlines written by Trump Haters trying to make him look bad when things are actually going swimmingly. America is ascendant, Manifest Destiny is manifest and accelerating as it goes.1 point

Wasn't a Canadian who founded the Canadian Corps. It was a British Officer who fought for and won the Canadian Corps for Canada, Wasn't a Canadian who led the Corps up Vimy Ridge. Was a Briton who made it happen. Field Marshal Julian Hedworth George Byng, 1st Viscount Byng of Vimy. The Government of Canada did nothing in the war, they were utterly passive, all they did was serve Canadians up as cannon fodder for the British Empire and Belgium. When the Corps came home from Europe, there were no victory parades for Vimy, nobody even met them at the train station. They were treated quite poorly actually, Canada at the time was in the throws of socialist upheaval. The Vimy Myth is totally fabricated propaganda, made up by the government in the 1930's To get the public primed for another bloody war for the Empire which they saw coming.1 point

You have to read the history, such as Pierre Berton’s Vimy. Canada demonstrated self-sufficient support at Vimy. We were able to carry that through to WW2, declaring war on Germany separately from Britain. We did it a week after Britain! Lol We may not have all the “logistics tail” required for some major operations and therefore borrow or rent, which may be fine most of the time, but we should absolutely go further and have that self-sufficiency at the ready. Once you have first strike capability power of life and death over any other country from the air, you pretty much have all you need, so get the best hardware. Do it right. All the social safety nets in the world won’t save Canada from sudden incursions or attacks on Canadian assets. Yes we have NATO, but we’ve also seen the lead NATO power mess with it. Make the fair contribution to NATO (not the excessive US corporate welfare oversized version). You can’t have a seat at the table or protect domestic and foreign policy without sufficient hard power.1 point

Trump wants America to win, not everyone else to lose. Trump is a raise all boats guy, but what he isn't, is a raise all boats but America guy, and that is what rubs you the wrong way. America First isn't about punishing the world, it's about America benefiting more from globalism instead of making sacrifices to help the world at it's own expense.1 point

Not really....easily justified given the circumstances. Would have been a ballsy move for Trudeau as well, instead of more weakness. Trump would certainly have done it.1 point

Hi. I rewrote my answer above. Please its not meant to tell others how to think only to say how I think. I am just expressing my personal opinion. As for what you said, here would be my answer. I believe much of what was written in the New Testament and for that matter Old Testament has to be questioned. It was written at a time and in a context where things we consider today as immoral were considered moral. I believe morality is an ever changing concept reflected in the writings of humans as it was at the time the passages in the Bible were written. Thus I would question much of what was written in the Bible. As a Jew we created a Talmud to give us a guide how to debate and continue to challenge each and every sentence in the Bible. We do not see any passage or set of words as having one fixed or literal meaning and that the purpose of the Talmud is to continue to come up with new meanings and applications of the very same sentences. So obviously I am not an Orthodox Jew. I am not a fundamentalist. I am very out there reform alternative in thought using many constucts from many disciplines like Taoism, Bhuddism, Hinduism, certain Existentialists and so on. I believe in many formal religions such as Christianity that there is still a prevalent belief your read the New Testament or whatever Holy Book it may be, literally, and so you can not question and most conform to and follow the literal meaning dictated to you by so called experts who are either clergy or missionaries or self-appointed preachers who believe it is their mission to convert you to their belief system because they believe if they don't you will go to hell. So I have a lot of issues and disagreements with many passages. I read the Bible and any holy book as I do Aesop's Fables. I believe they are supposed to provide parables to explain lessons on how we are supposed to behave if we are to repress our primal tendencies and be civilized. I believe religion is an exercise to control we primatesfrom killing each other. I believe it is a code of customs we created as primates (apes) so the pack we live in can be cohesive. I agree with Freud that if we do not repress certain primal tendencies such as anger, rape, murder, our societies can not develop and create civilized interactions So I probably would agree with every tenet you read and find immoral for the exact same reasons but would explain that the immorality arises when we humans apply words in a specific context and application to give them their immoral meaning. The BIble is written by humans. The New Testament is all heresay. It's all many times removed versions of what people THINK Jesus said. Me personally I believe the very exercise of writing the New Testament was political and used to head off a civil war between Pagans and Christians by mixing the two. I believe the creation of a physical house of worship and a confessional booth had nothing to do with Christianity and everything to do with King Constantine creating an institution he could use to spy on people to see what they were up to and control them through clergy favourable to his biddings. I also read much of the New Testament in a positive way. I choose to recontextualize it as a code of civil behavior and lessons on positive behavior. I believe we all have the potential to be saviours and literally heal each other through positive acts where we expect nothing back in terms of reward or compensation. I believe when we do that we act morally. I think that was the pith and substance of not just Christianity but all religions but may get lost in the translation by people who miss the very simple meaning intended. That said I believe I know nothing more than you and would defer to your opinions as well if they work for you. In my scheme of things I a simple life form not wanting to harm other life forms and simply want to be a salient being whose interactions with other life forms is benevolent and symbiotic not parasitical. I claim no truth or wisdom just a source to generate discussions on spiritual concepts.1 point

Now you are getting it...it is that fight which endears him to "Trumpsters". Wider harmony and prosperity is code for socialism and globalism to Trump supporters and other groups....no thanks. The tribe is dominated by people who will not universally drink the globalist Kool-Aid®, and it will take their deaths for the WOKE folks to prevail. A larger tribe also wants to keep their flags, guns, and free speech, including biases. Trump speaks to them, and attacks their enemies. His self interest fuels his drive and zeal for the fight...he calls it "high energy". Fellow septuagenarians Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders wish they had it so good.1 point

No he blew it. His wave is retrograde. I do think he is trying to turn back the clock, but he can’t. Trump wants to dismantle a new world that will squeeze out guys like Trump. The only heroism I see in Trump is his guts. There’s some courage there, which is unusual, but he’s too self-interested. He can’t see new possibilities for wider harmony and prosperity, which can only exist in a narrow way for Trump. It’s all about the tribe.1 point

Canada is not California, although many Canadians live and work there. I already know it is pervasive, less so in Quebec. Enjoy Canada for what it is, instead of defining Canada by what it is not. The left in Canada even imports its anti-"murican" rhetoric from...America.1 point

Yeah...ironic since Trudeau is was Quebec royalty.1 point

Again, U.S. history points to much more isolation and corruption in the past. The path is not always linear, and "foreigners" still prefer to emigrate to the USA more than any other nation. Your own foreign minister implored that my president and country protect the post WW2 order, not your own or another nation. He is a grand jerk....a marvelous bastard....but he is our bastard. The more that foreigners hate him, the more he is embraced. Trump is just another U.S. president, one who dares to smash the status quo. The haters in Canada just consume themselves with their own fears about things they have no control over, because of a psychological dependence on America as the West's "leader". I'll bet that Canadians still know more about American history and culture than their own, especially when Quebec is included. Canadians consume more American media than their own. Can name Trump as U.S. head of state before knowing about PM, GG, and monarch relationship. Trump is a much more important and impactful national leader than Trudeau, whether he is liked or not.1 point

Just because your talking points are good doesn't mean that you wouldn't get completely eviscerated by the MSM. It's hard to win an election with CBC and CTV calling you the anti-christ. The media leave Berner alone because he's taking votes away from the CPC.1 point

Yep...the Minneapolis (Minnesota) rally drew Trump supporters even from other states....North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and Iowa. That's a long drive to get you some Trump. Then they had fun flipping off the triggered snowflakes protesting outside. Trump is already in full campaign mode, which he loves the most. Money is pouring into GOP coffers....legal...and illegal !1 point

Another huge rally for Trump. This time: Lake Charles Louisiana. Same sort of attendance...packed.1 point

If the CPC were to move further to the right, they would lose. Canadian voters are generally on the wide centre line. They are a little bit conservative and a little bit progressive. So if you want a conservative government, you want a Progressive Conservative party.1 point

I'm sure a lot of Conservatives are thinking of what will happen at the next leadership review after Andrew Scheer loses the upcoming election. I"m hoping he resigns before that happens, and that the Conservatives get someone further to the right, not left who will make it an actual conservative party, rather than the liberal light party it has become.1 point

White men hiring white men, has nothing to do with skin color and everything to do with qualifications. The reason less women and some minority groups make less than white men is not because of race or sex based discrimination, it has to do with less of those people wanting "positions of power" and not being as qualified to attain them because of their own personal choices, while more white men were willing to make the sacrifices necessary to attain those positions. Plenty of minority groups are willing to make those sacrifices even more often than white men and that's why they earn more than white men, it has nothing to do with discrimination.0 points
