  1. "Telling children they can pick their gender is as fundamentally stupid as telling children they can choose their species. If we did, we'd have classrooms filled with mermaids, aquamen, wizards, gnomes, fairies, and aliens."

  2. On the surface, I have to admit, I really don't like Trudeau's self unawareness. His speeches make me cringe. Once in a while, when he's off script, he sounds a bit human, but it's few and far between. Looking at his policies, his handling of our climate policy is something I despise. It's fake. Much like his facebook profile update speeches. Dry, empty and scripted. Carbon tax? C'mon. A ploy. Once championed by the Conservatives, now, suddenly, turned into a "leftist anti-energy" or "leftist anti-economy" propaganda headline by the conservatives and a "Champion of the environment" headline by the Liberals. Why can't we just be honest about this? All carbon tax does is prolong the process so that the old economy can squeeze the last few drops of their toxic product and system. Too bad the money it makes, will not come anywhere close to the money we need to pay for the climate disasters that will only continue to increase. Side note: Remember when Kenney cancelled the carbon tax law in Alberta, because "oh it's such a hippy, green peace, vegan, organic policy that's killing our economy!". But then he had to cancel the party, because Alberta was on fire... in May! Heh. So sad. But I'm not here to whine about the things I don't like about the current government. I can go on all night about that. I'm here to confuse the one-dimensional, dishonest, party cheerleaders who are either plain ignorant or willfully pretend and look the other way when the narrative falls off the political hack script. So yeah, the unemployment rate continues to set records. We have not seen unemployment this low for over 40 years. So how do the vigilantes, whose number one platform is supposed to be the economy and jobs are to respond to this conundrum? Especially with the elections around the corner? I'm predicting red herrings. They will continue to scare people with immigration.. BOO! We will probably hear some noise from the loud, keyboard pounding, small town bigots screaming Muslim takeover?!

  4. https://globalnews.ca/news/3848065/case-of-diphtheria-confirmed-at-edmonton-elementary-school/ Diptheria in Edmonton. These diseases are all making a comeback thanks to anti-vaxxers. I think we have all forgotten how terrible these diseases were and how many people they killed. My friend posted this article on her facebook page because she has a child in kindergarten at the school and a newborn at home who is too young to be vaccinated for diptheria yet.

  6. Merit is the only thing which counts. And if we discount 90% of the population in favour of only bilingual people it means we're unlikely to get the best. It basically confines our choices to certain areas of Quebec like Montreal and Gatineau, and some of the well-off in central Ontario who make sure their kids get bilingual educations. I think an alternative would be for someone not bilingual to have a strong deputy PM to campaign in the other language. Diefenbaker did that. I see no political advantage in knowing some other language such as a native language or Italian. The only purpose would be to let you pander to that group more intimately instead of having surrogates do it for you.

  8. I'm also a big Spicy P fan. Lowry is in many ways the heart of the team. Leonard is the superstar. You're right, the greatness of the Raps is the lack of ego and the team play. So much depth on the bench. I think if they can keep the current lineup, this team has a great future. They already have six straight years in the playoffs. Hopefully the national excitement generates permanent interest and leads to expansion. There is talk of returning a franchise to Vancouver. The Montreal mayor has been pushing hard to return the Expos to Montreal and MLB is pretty receptive. Betman has also looked at restoring an NHL team in Quebec City. In the end it comes down to stadiums, investors, and lobbyists. I think it's a matter of time for all of that to happen. I agree that the CFL needs a team out east. It's a bit tiresome hearing how the Maritimes can't afford to support any big league teams. It's about time the Irving or McCain families stepped up and bought a CFL franchise, perhaps a handful of investors. Moncton might be a better spot than Halifax because it would draw from New Brunswick, PEI (straight off the Confederation Bridge), and Nova Scotia. We need 10 teams in the CFL to make the playoffs really meaningful. It's a league worth protecting because of its storied and long history. Its supporters are passionate and there's a huge following in certain markets, especially out west. I just don't know why we don't already have another NHL team in Toronto. Everyone in the GTA wants it and every game would sell out. The NHL seems intent on abandoning its biggest market and adding franchises where there's no tradition of ice hockey and people are pretty indifferent to the sport.

  9. But clearly it does. The report specifically says that this is genocide against the FN. And yet every other goddam report ever done about the issue, govt and independent, has reached the same conclusion; The vast majority of First Nations women who are murdered, are murdered by First Nations men. This aligns closely with all other represented ethnicities in Canada. Females are predominantly murdered by males of their own ethnic group. If you're murdering your own "kind" then it's not genocide. Period!

  11. At the going down of the sun this evening, I particularly remember Mark "Izzy" Isfeld. He was a Sapper who was lifting mines. When he was killed, it was because he lifted the top mine, but there was a wire connecting it to a stack, so the whole thing blew and he joined the Pink Mist Society in an instant. On the day he was killed, rather than being the first story on the news, it was the last thing reported on the National that night, a footnote barely mentioned. His mother was of course devastated by the loss of her son, but the salt in the wound was that the Liberal government didn't want to publicize any bad news from the Balkans; So it was barely mentioned, the CBC waited until the last minute to casually report in passing that he had been killed. No Highway of Heroes for the fallen of UNPROFOR, barely a mention at all. I sincerely apologize to Mrs.Isfeld, on behalf of Her Majesty, for the shameful conduct of the government, Mark was a hero, and his brothers will never forget him.

  12. As we are on the topic, let us just pause for a moment, and remember the brothers we lost to UNPROFOR; Captain James P. 13. It does matter, for a couple reasons, first reason is internally all members of DND are held to a higher standard because of who they are and what they represent. Military laws does not allow for any member to join or hang around with any racist or hate groups or persons of questionable moral and values , ie murders, rapists, drug dealers, etc... that does not hold the same standards as DND, or any other Canadian dept...plus any political groups of any type. That said there are people who break the rules, as in this .01 percent....Not sure what Jacee intentions were bringing this to everyone attention, other than to stir up some useless shit...The fact remains that this percentage is smaller than other organization including Jacee's conservative and liberal hate club or her Friday night knitting club.... Thats right people even little old ladies can be hateful...cute but hateful...

  14. Not sure where your going with this, It was the UN's failure to provide peace that spur NATO to enter conversations with both UN officials , plus all the countries leaders that were involved...No war was ever declared , there was an agreement by all sides concerned including Serbia / and later Kosovo ...with out this consensus it would have been an invasion by NATO forces.. and it was not...NATO was acting as a peace maker not peace keeper, it gave NATO forces sweeping powers....at the time NATO took over there was no peace to keep, shortly after this is when mass graves were found, on all sides of the borders, war crimes had been conducted by all sides concerned, UN/ NATO forensic teams were brought in, some of the evidence was used to convict the Serbian PM of war crimes.. Not sure if any other charges were brought to bare. Not sure what UN forces attacked anyone, the Rules of engagement were so restrictive, that it would make attacks almost imposable, and Canadian ROE's even more so....we were only given 20 rounds and at the end of the day, you better have 20 rounds to turn in, or an investigation would be conducted to ascertain WHY you had missing bullets...Once NATO took over we were issued full war load, plus a full compliment of support munitions cust as , M-72, grenades, 84 mm Carl G anti tank guns, etc etc...plus the new LAVs were brought in and gave us extra fire power, need to enforce the agreed laws and conditions set out by these round table talks involing all the nations involved, NATO, and some UN officials...
