In her world she knows. Speaking as a mom of a gay son, I find Betsy’s threads on the lgbt community a constant excuse to promote intolerance, hatred and violence towards the lgbt community. I won’t stop calling her or anyone else out on their hateful posts This is what mama bears do. Watch out Betsy.2 points

These gay men and women seem to think that they came about not by a man and woman relationship but by some divine intervention. Let's put all gay men on one island and put all gay women on another island far apart from each other and let's see you will be around in a hundred years? But put men and women together on another island and I am dam sure that there will still be life in a hundred years living and thriving on that island. Homosexuality is not normal. If homosexuality were the norm none of us would be here today.2 points

Agreed, but U.S. GDP is not nearly as dependent on exports as is Canada's. 70% of the U.S. economy depends on consumer spending, and it has the population size to do this efficiently across the continent. Canada has been raping it's natural resources on a scale that is much larger than its population requires (for export trade)....I often think it ironic that Canada can move logs and pulp more efficiently than it can distribute the Pampers diapers that are made from them. That certainly appears to be the case....trade barriers between provinces are much greater than anything to do with the USA or NAFTA. There are people and organizations who think BIG in Canada, but they are often beaten down by competing political and commercial interests plus a lack of national drive. Further, nationalism and pride are derided as "American style", in two official languages.1 point

What does the US owe Canada? Simple: tit for tat in free and open access for investement and trade. US companies own HUGE stakes in Canadian resources, which we have allowed it to do with relative freedom from restrictions and unfair taxation. Doing so has resulted in stifling the value added production that SHOULD have happened in Canada (that's not on the US, that is what Canadians did to themselves by giving money to Wall Street and Bay Street instead of investing directly in Main Street.) As for Canada not contributing to NATO: Yesterday we had a parade adding theatre honours to the colours of Canada's oldest volunteer regiment - as did 64 other Canforce units for Afghanistan. This was the longest military engagement for Canada in its entire history and was done simply because our closest ally was attacked. It was initiated with considerable political capital at risk by a Liberal government and similarly sustained by the Conservatives. I also recall very well allowing American military forces to have free and complete access to Canadian territory to build the Distant Early Warning line - all on Canadian soil. We were quite willing to paint a great big target on our chest in support of the country with which we share the longest unprotected border in the world and a fully integrated economy. It is an insult and piss off when an American ignorant of such things cannot recognize and respect such contributions to their defense and well being.1 point

And there’s no question that, since coming to office in 2006, the Conservative government has cut taxes. But they’ve mostly been the wrong taxes, cut for the wrong reasons. Tax cuts aren’t just about reducing the overall tax burden on citizens — although that is important. But cutting the right taxes at the right times can spur economic growth, employment, savings rates. Cutting the wrong taxes can end up accomplishing nothing at all — beyond robbing the state of the revenue it needs to do its work, and winning a few points in the polls, short-term. Back in 2004, the Department of Finance put together a working paper entitled ‘Taxation and Economic Efficiency’, which concluded that cutting taxes on savings and investment yield higher efficiency gains for the economy than cutting taxes on consumption. So the worst possible tax cut you could contemplate would be one which affects consumption only — like a cut to the GST. So much for expert advice; the Harper government cut the GST by one point in 2006 and another point in 2007. This reduced government revenues by about $14 to $15 billion annually, roughly $110 billion over the past nine years. Oddly enough, this lost revenue accounts for about 80 per cent of the increase in federal public debt over that period. Over the 10 years between budget 2006 and budget 2014, and including the PM’s “family tax package” announcements of October 2014, tax measures introduced by the Harper government have cost the treasury almost $332 billion. That’s equal to almost 17 per cent of annual GDP and almost one-half of total federal debt. https://ipolitics.ca/2015/02/23/mr-harpers-taxing-troubles/1 point

No. I was just mentioning Sodom and Gomorrah as an example where the corruption of society in those places led to their destruction. But the world today is in a general state of corruption and rebellion against God. No one group owns that. Most of the world is opposed to God and the Bible. I was referring to the general corruption and evil in the world. According to the Bible, man has an evil heart. So, you can draw your own conclusions as to what all the nuclear weapons means or where it could lead with evil men in control. The world could self destruct much of itself before the Lord returns. But actually the book of Revelation does give some information that things will be bad during the Tribulation.1 point

True..but hardly a surprise. We have seen this before in other nations, especially those ruled by Marxist governments. "Truth and Reconciliation" was just foreplay to "we are taking the land".1 point

I couldn't help noticing that you didn't actually make any attempt to address what I said and discuss this like an adult. Instead you just want to wag your tiny wiener around and continue with your trollish USA! USA! attitude, which frankly is boring as shit. So back into my ignore folder for you. You're just a waste of time.1 point

No. But I'm more likely to show respect to an argument which is put dispassionately, intelligently, and with facts that back it up, than by rambling, ranting, emotion-laden drivel filled with spelling and punctuation errors.1 point

A Muslim army besieged and sacked Jerusalem in the 7th century. Upon finding the ruins of the Jewish Second Temple (in ruins from Roman times), Caliph Omar decided that this was the very site that Muhammad flew to in a dream aboard a griffin to receive the Quran from Allah. This is the only reason Jerusalem figures in Islam...because it was the detested Jews' holiest place...appropriated and smashed via iconoclasm. That's how she works... Hint: flying hadn't been invented yet...Muhammad never set foot in Jerusalem.1 point

There have been endless stories, movies book, plays, and every other imaginable recitation of what the German Nazis did in the thirties and forties, to the point "nazi' and "fascist' have become sort of all-purpose ultimate insults those on the Left fling at anyone who disagrees with their policies and beliefs. But comparatively little has been written about the guilt of the the Communists of the Soviet Union, and just how horrific they could be. And so, today, you will never find a conservative politician willing to admit even the slightest, faintest trace of sympathy or interest in the sort of political beliefs and philosophies of the Nazis, but you don't have to look very hard to find a lot of Leftists proudly declaring themselves as Marxists or expressing admiration for Communists and Communist policies and practices. Trudeau himself has expressed admiration for the Cuban and Chinese Communists, as did his father. And their political campagn last time around was mainly focused on the politics of resentment and class warfare - blaming all the rich for everyone's problems. The NDP has a hard core called 'the socialist caucus' which espouses the same language and mentality which inspired the Soviet Communists, and are completely unrepentant about it. It is well to remember what Communism is capable of. http://nationalpost.com/opinion/i-have-eaten-my-children-talk-too-much-ill-eat-you-too-an-excerpt-from-anne-applebaums-red-famine1 point

If someone who is clearly gay walks in and asks for a birthday cake, they would leave with a birthday cake. That fact has already been established by every baker currently facing the wrath of the gays.1 point
-
It doesn't have to be a sin for a person to not want to create it. It wouldn't be a sin for a Jewish baker to design a Hitler cake, but it would be offensive to the baker. And, knowing that, most people (even Nazis) wouldn't stoop to insisting. The gays however,...would.1 point

We do not know- you however think YOU do. Jerusalem was declared Israel's capital in 1950. Between 1948 and 1950 constant attacks by Jordan and terrorists on the West Bank and form East Jerusalem delayed the full operations of the capital but it was always Jerusalem. The fact that the government operated out of Tel Aviv until the war in 1949 ended and operational functions could be fully commenced after the 1949 war in 1950 did not make Tel Aviv the capital of Israel ever. The law that created the state of Israel defined Jerusalem as its capital. As usual you spew horse crap.1 point

Indeed. What is asked of Israel by its opponents...giving-up Jerusalem and handing over land won in battle is a bit like Germany demanding parts of Poland after losing the War. Had Poland started World War Two...maybe then. But that's not what happened....Poland gets to keep Prussia and Pomerania. Traditional German lands.1 point

Unlike most religions, Judaism has an ancient history (before the Middle Ages) that can be confirmed by sources outside the religion's holy texts (Roman, Greek writings, etc). Not to mention raw archaeology. The Zealots, however, had the misfortune of losing the the Second Roman Jewish War...and losing their capital in the process. Not an easy thing to bounce back from...but here we are. Roman fresco depicting the Triumph of Titus after sacking Jerusalem in 70 AD .1 point
