Coming from the guy who wants to kick out all the Palestinians. And again, facts are facts East Jerusalem is not within Israel's internationally recognized borders. It's interesting seeing the talk back from you and Rue. Are some facts more relevant to the two of you than others? What's so hard to inderstand about it? Please more non-answers will more than suffice again.2 points

The liberal government of Trudeau will ban any employer receiving summer job grants for students if the employer doesn't first sign "attestation" that they agree with abortion and transgender rights. The new criteria was sent to all MP's when the Canada summer jobs officially opens on December 19th, 2017. Well, there we have it. We have ourselves a prime mistake for a leader who says that if an employer has a different opinion and beliefs that are not in line with this present day liberal dictator they will not get any grants. This just shows us how Trudeau and the liberal government have their biases and are all for abortions and for the promotion of the perverted sexual lifestyle that so many Canadians are against. This guy needs to go. But I am afraid that this creep might just elected again and even make more laws in favor of more indecency and immorality. Canada is becoming worse by the day. Just another liberal pro-democratic rag that has nothing truthful to say ever about Trump. It's all just about rags like that one that are trying very hard to get Trump removed from office. There has been many good promises made by Trump but rags like that one you posted cannot find it in their pea brains to want to report anything positive that Trump has done. It's all just doom and gloom with those losers. Reporting on how the markets have exploded, jobs are up and unemployment is down to name but a few is not important enough for that rag to report. They cannot make Trump look good just a tiny bit. It's all about reporting and making up lies about Trump with them. When Obama and Hillary were in power and trying to ruin America where were the rest of the democrats? No doubt out there looking for more ways to try and rip off America and Americans every day. Their agenda was to line their pockets with taxpayer's tax dollars. The good thing about Trump is that he has shown many Americans and Canadians that flouting the norm is a good thing and nobody should be afraid of telling it like it is. Enough of this let's all try and get along bull chit nonsense. That hasn't worked at all for the democrats. What the democrats want is to how make people not get along together. That is their program and agenda to get us all fighting against one another. Sounds like you? Deplorable.1 point

Good...then the matter is "settled"...Israel should rename occupied territory and settlements in its own traditions. I'm sure it won't be so stupid as to use the names of British royalty and colonizers !1 point

Except that rubbing your empires nose was a British tradition, Canada wasn't around at the time. You can be sure the Vancouver Island Liberation Organization will rename our capital once we take over. Maybe we'll even move it to Tofino.1 point

Compared to the 4000 year old process unfolding in the Middle East? If you say so. It'll likely drag it out for 1000's of years so long as so many other shiny beacons around it are so willing to continue acting like complete assholes. No, Israel will only be able to exercise its control so long as the patron empire supporting it doesn't collapse which it will and long long before 4000 years have passed.1 point
-
Hopefully this will never be changed. As MH just pointed out access to a publicly funded summer job should not be granted based on religion.1 point
-
Uh, yes. None of them are races. We weren't talking about settlements, which I disapprove of, btw. Yes, it's called context, something you obstinately refuse to admit into any discussion on the two sides involved. How about this then: Your side is massively worse in every conceivable way in terms of racism, sexism, homophobia, bigotry, violation of human rights, torture, false imprisonment, exta-judicial execution and corruption than the Israelis. So suppose you justify being on that side?1 point
-
Once again, when it comes to responding to examples of comparisons, you decided not to respond. One last time: Can a first nation in Canada purchase a property a non-first nation can? Absolutely. Can a Palestinian in Israel purchase a property a Jew in Israel can? No. -- Can a first nation marry a person from outside of Canada and sponsor them to come into Canada just like a Canadian? Absolutely Can a Palestinian in Israel marry a person from outside of Israel and bring them into Israel like a Jew in Israel can? No. --1 point
-
Yes well, we've also seen how far your ilk isn't willing to flog this stupid horse when you steer away from any mention of more recent narratives around settling indigenous and colonizer issues like Truth and Reconciliation processes. Then its back to whataboutism and skipping thru history whilst pointing out past assholes to justify being assholes in the present.1 point

Not a lot of Muslim countries accepting Jews and their extended families. I'd hazard zero.1 point
-
But Palestinians aren't a race,. So what? Israel is in a unique position as a Jewish homeland surrounded by violently hostile Muslims. It needs to control the number of Muslims crossing it's borders. Given the security situation that's inevitable Look, whatever your complaints about Israel, which I grant is imperfect by western standards, it's twice as bad among the Arabs and Palestinians and you don't give a damn about that. By the standards of the nations around it Israel is a paragon of virtue, freedom, equality and tolerance.1 point
-
Because the parallels are obvious, except for the much longer/larger scale for domination, subjugation, incarceration, and land theft in Canada. For every difference you claim, I can find two historical and/or present day similarities between Israel and Canada/USA/AUS (take your pick) for "aboriginals". Specifically in the case of capital city Jerusalem, parts of Ottawa are "settlements" on unceded native land and have been for more than 100 years. The main point of all this is to demonstrate that you and others here consistently hold the State of Israel to a different standard. Why ?1 point
-
Your comparison is ridiculous. Can a first nation in Canada purchase a property a non-first nation can? No. -- The list goes on. Why do you try so hard to push for a comparison when it's not there?1 point

@Betsy, I believe that I addressed your opening post. While you might have other means to address factors within religion as a topic, you were suggesting that science was in definite support of your views .....especially to Christianity of your particular beliefs. You also attack secular atheism as a form of religion. I pointed out that even an atheist like myself CAN have a different view against others in the scientists' accepted view on the Big Bang and even 'agree' that it supports a religious view. It's not important whether I'm wrong about the theory. What IS important is that I CAN agree with you about some point and STILL find no reason to believe religion is some alternative. The Big Bang theory was actually an opposite theory of Steady State, NOT of any religious theory. It is a theory that suggests an origin from a HOT singularity where the Steady State theory held the view of a COLD eternal state with no actual singularity....only the appearance of it. Instead, it treated space as being a non-empty field that allows matter to be formed from everywhere. Both theories had (or have) its religious supporters interpreting the science supports them. So even if the Steady State theory WAS the accepted version, you'd still find some reason to assert it as supporting your view. (or at least seek for some part of it to). For instance, many who did not like the Steady State theory felt IT WAS RELIGIOUS because it seemed to suggest you can get something from nothing everywhere in the here and now. While this is not detailed enough, you can argue that that theory 'proves' that God can be everpresent as a creator. See? I'm sure others can imagine ANY possible science theory that one could ADAPT to proving some religion. It makes the religious arguments perpetually able to adapt (as they actually do) to changing certainties when they become commonly accepted.1 point

You are incorrect. There is nothing in the Charter of Rights which says anything about abortion. No law has been passed to make abortion legal either. It is Trudeau's personal progressive crusade driving this.1 point

Let me give you a basic primer on Canadian politics. We don't have dictators, we have democratically elected governments. Trudeau gets to lead the current one due to the outcome of the last national election.1 point

Israel need only look to other fine international examples for land and resource stewardship over "indigenous" people...perhaps all that is lacking are "Secure Certificate of Palestinian Status" cards, like they have in Canada (four different types).1 point

Yes, racist. Very racist. Israel is a systemic racist country with laws against Palestinians. Israel treats both the Palestinians living in Israel differently than Jews and the Palestinians living in the Occupied Territories different than the illegal Jewish settlers who have stolen Palestinian land. So you are absolutely wrong. Difference in treatment of Palestinians in Israel vs Jews in Israel 1) Citizenship laws - Palestinians are not allowed to have their families immigrate to Israel. If a Palestinian marries someone from outside of Israel, they would not be able to bring them over to live in Israel. Whereas any Jew, anywhere around the world has automatic citizenship in Israel. 2) Civil Rights - Palestinians are discriminated against regularly. Israeli High Court Justice Theodor Or wrote in The Report by the State Commission of Inquiry into the Events of October 2000: The Arab citizens of Israel live in a reality in which they experience discrimination as Arabs. This inequality has been documented in a large number of professional surveys and studies, has been confirmed in court judgments and government resolutions, and has also found expression in reports by the state comptroller and in other official documents. Although the Jewish majority’s awareness of this discrimination is often quite low, it plays a central role in the sensibilities and attitudes of Arab citizens. This discrimination is widely accepted, both within the Arab sector and outside it, and by official assessments, as a chief cause of agitation. According to the U.S. State Department Country Reports on Human Rights Practices: "Israeli-Arab advocacy organizations have challenged the Government's policy of demolishing illegal buildings in the Arab sector, and claimed that the Government was more restrictive in issuing building permits in Arab communities than in Jewish communities, thereby not accommodating natural growth." "In June, the Supreme Court ruled that omitting Arab towns from specific government social and economic plans is discriminatory. This judgment builds on previous assessments of disadvantages suffered by Arab Israelis." "Israeli-Arab organizations have challenged as discriminatory the 1996 "Master Plan for the Northern Areas of Israel," which listed as priority goals increasing the Galilee's Jewish population and blocking the territorial contiguity of Arab towns." "Israeli Arabs were not required to perform mandatory military service and, in practice, only a small percentage of Israeli Arabs served in the military. Those who did not serve in the army had less access than other citizens to social and economic benefits for which military service was a prerequisite or an advantage, such as housing, new-household subsidies, and employment, especially government or security-related industrial employment. The Ivri Committee on National Service has issued official recommendations to the Government that Israel Arabs not be compelled to perform national or "civic" service, but be afforded an opportunity to perform such service"." "According to a 2003 University of Haifa study, a tendency existed to impose heavier prison terms to Arab citizens than to Jewish citizens. Human rights advocates claimed that Arab citizens were more likely to be convicted of murder and to have been denied bail." "The Orr Commission of Inquiry's report […] stated that the 'Government handling of the Arab sector has been primarily neglectful and discriminatory,' that the Government 'did not show sufficient sensitivity to the needs of the Arab population, and did not take enough action to allocate state resources in an equal manner.' As a result, 'serious distress prevailed in the Arab sector in various areas. Evidence of distress included poverty, unemployment, a shortage of land, serious problems in the education system, and substantially defective infrastructure.'" "According to a 2005 study at Hebrew University, three times more money was invested in education of Jewish children as in Arab children." 3) Property Ownership Discrimination - Jewish National Fund (JNF) owns a portion of land in Israel. Majority of this land belonged to Palestinians who lost their land after a bizarre Absentee Property Law was past, because the owners of the lands were 'absent'. As many know, these "absent" Palestinians were driven out of Israel by the Israeli military and terrorist groups such as Irgun. Land owned by JNF is only given to Jews. Palestinians only have access to purchase only 6.5% of land in Israel. There is discrimination there as well as it's almost impossible for Palestinians to receive permits to build new homes. In essence, Palestinians are able to live in small portions of Israel, while the Jews can live anywhere in Israel. 4) Allocation of government funds - When it comes to education, health and other funding, Palestinians regularly receive a lot less funds from the Israeli government than Jewish Israelis. Have a look at this report from The Guardian where this is well documented. Treatment of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories vs Jewish Settlers in the Occupied Territories This can be a long post. Everything from the use of natural resources, to land, to economic access, to discriminatory laws. If you want to learn more about the racist and discriminatory treatment of Palestinians and the difference in treatement of Jews, I would recommend that you start here, on the HRW site.1 point

Pertinent to the suggestion by some that Arabs would be more even-handed than Israelis. Certainly when Jordan controlled Jerusalem they had no respect for others' religious symbols or locations. And as pointed out, Jews are prohibited from even entering Palestinian lands by the Palestinians. Therefore if the Palestinians ever took over East Jerusalem the first thing they would do would be to expel all the Jews. Nor would you find all these lefties squealing about how Israel wants to expel the Arabs saying one thing about it were it to happen either.1 point

For the history challenged: Nasser said he KNEW that blockading Israel would force Israel to attack his vastly superior, modern, Soviet supplied military. As he details here...May 27th, 1967 A Win-Win situation, as far as Nasser was concerned. As well, each day Israel's citizen reserve was in the field with the IDF, that was one more day they weren't at work providing Israel's basic services. So if Israel didn't attack and accepted their besieged state...that was ALSO good. Israel was having none of it. Operation Focus followed. One of the most brilliant air operations ever staged. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Focus Of course, the history challenged imagine the massive Israeli air force with US provided aircraft descending upon the innocent and hapless Arab armies massed on Israeli's borders...poor dears. That's not what happened. Israel's tiny air force of mainly french aircraft (Mirage III being the showcase machine) perfected quick turnarounds against the more numerous Arabs...upping the number of sorties available to the IAF...to cripple the Egyptian and Syrian airfields...cratering the runways and strafing Arab aircraft on the ground.1 point
