Why Trudeau ? Harper was part of it too: https://www.rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca/eng/1100100015644/1571589171655 Nobody is telling white Canadians that they're guilty of crimes, that's hyperbole. I don't know who Selam Debs is, the individual quoted. You're critiquing "people of the left" generally, which is fine - I addressed that angle with Graham. I don't think mythology has been used in court as evidence by anyone. It would be a pretty easy thing to shoot down. I imagine the 40% are unhappy with their prospects and a terrible economy. Anyway... we're not talking about the system teaching people to hate Canadians any more. We're talking about divisiveness, economy, morality... and all of these fights are happening all over the west. We've strayed into the general malaise of the zeitgeist...

That's funny! No prices haven't gone up yet but it's early in the supply chain but the assumption is that tariffs with raise inflation while growth slows. It's why the Fed hasn't touch rates despite where inflation is. Surprisingly to you I hope for a zero outcome as well with no inflation. Not the way it works though. Companies will eat a smaller margin for a competitive edge, but unlikely to eat a large margin for no sales gain and a loss of profit - you get that. I've chosen no outcome because I can't figure out what Trump is doing or really wants, and obviously nobody else can either. Ever wonder if he can figure himself out? Anyway, hoping there's little affect. The US has always been and will be #1 or #2 economy in the world so of course you want trade. A lot of countries have looked elsewhere to diversify their trade because of Trump. Can't see how that's good for the US long term.

Yes, that's what it is - sensationalism. I wasn't talking about the CBC but generally. An example would be covering a story where someone makes an untrue claim about climate effects without challenging or fact checking. I think the President of the Maldives was in the news, for example, saying his country would be underwater in seven years. Such extreme claims are not given the same rigourous test of truth as if you had a hayseed on the news saying it was volcanic activity or somesuch. And, for the record, I don't think that these mainstream examples are anything like the outright lies, especially those that are planted intentionally and/or funded, that we see from climate deniers. But it is a thing.

Some of them had misdemeanors, some had VISA issues, some decades old immigration issues. That kind of thing doesn't warrant being arrested and locked in prison for weeks or months and families unable to get through the ICE bureaucracy and lawyers. "Cynthia Olivera — born in Mississauga, Ont., but living in Los Angeles — was arrested last month when she and her husband went to an immigration office to complete an interview for her U.S. citizenship application. Paula Callejas of Montreal was in the process of finalizing a work visa when she was arrested for a misdemeanor — and then transferred to an ICE facility. Olivera and Callejas's families told CBC News the weeks since their arrests have been a nightmare, filled with phone calls to lawyers and ICE bureaucracy. Paula Callejas from Montreal has been in ICE custody for more than three months after being charged with a misdemeanor in Florida, her family says. (Name withheld) "We're completely concerned for her overall safety and health," a member of Callejas's immediate family told CBC News. CBC is not naming the family member over concerns they may have their own immigration issues while travelling to the U.S. Olivera's husband, Frank Olvera, said what was meant to be a routine immigration interview ended up feeling more like a trap. "We were flabbergasted," Olvera told CBC News. "No due process." Olivera, 45, moved to the U.S. with her family when she was young, her husband said. The two met in the '90s, married (she kept her last name), had children together and have been living in L.A. since then. "About two years ago, since the children are now older, we decided to hire a lawyer and start the immigration process the correct way," Olvera said. Decades-old U.S. entry refusal But instead of completing the interview, Olivera was arrested by immigration officials over a decades-old border issue, her husband said. "They lured us into our immigration appointment … took my wife, put her in handcuffs, swept her away," he said." Because they were either violent criminals or they were near violent criminals that got picked up. This article from CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) show how you are lying. " Relatives of Canadians detained by ICE in the United States say they're furious and frustrated by the treatment of their loved ones and the battles they're having to fight for even the most basic information. Global Affairs Canada said it's aware of roughly 55 Canadians in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, though it said that the numbers can fluctuate. Olvera said that in 1999, Olivera had travelled to Canada to attend her mother's funeral and was initially denied re-entry because she was pregnant and told border agents she planned to have the child in the U.S. Olivera is now being held by ICE at a detention centre in El Paso, Texas, Olvera said. Canadian who died in ICE custody lived a 'simple life,' his lawyer says Boxer Julio César Chávez Jr. arrested by ICE, to be deported to Mexico, officials say Freed Columbia University activist Mahmoud Khalil seizes new public platform amid efforts to deport him Earlier this year, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a raft of executive orders that aim to clamp down on illegal immigration and advance his goal of overseeing the largest deportation operation in American history. Stephen Miller, White House deputy chief of staff and the main architect of Trump's immigration policies, has pushed ICE to aim for at least 3,000 arrests a day, up from about 650 a day during the first five months of Trump's second term." Because they were either violent criminals or they were near violent criminals that got picked up. Again this is a lie. "Over 55 Canadians detained by ICE in U.S. due to immigration violations and minor criminal offenses in 2025. Johnny Noviello, a Canadian, died in ICE custody on June 23, prompting scrutiny of detention conditions."

Why should I concern myself with these rights? There is zero evidence they have been violated. Every supposed point you've made in this thread has been thoroughly debunked. You are just inventing scenarios and asking they are true. False. I already gave you the account of two people who were sent to Alligator Alcatraz. Go back and read it. Doesn't sound like they respect human rights there. How would you like to receive one meal a day with maggots in it and shining lights 24 hours a day to prevent you from sleeping.

I think drafting MPs the way we do jurists would go a long way towards making both our representation and society less divisive. Political parties should be regarded the same way social clubs are. All things being equal if your club is really popular you'll stand a good chance of seeing more of your club members being drafted along the way. I think an ongoing selection process with smaller local elections would be easier to manage, Parliament could still keep functioning and partisanship really wouldn't get much traction.

Because they were either violent criminals or they were near violent criminals that got picked up. Tom has been very clear. They will not let an opportunity go by to deport illegal aliens. They are targeting the worst. But if someone is near the bad guy and isn't here legally, they won't waste that opportunity. This is America. We provide the necessary care for our prisoners. Your assumption to the contrary is nothing more than your hope that you can find some reason to be mad at Trump. Why should I concern myself with these rights? There is zero evidence they have been violated. Every supposed point you've made in this thread has been thoroughly debunked. You are just inventing scenarios and asking they are true. Incidents like this are always investigated. If there were mistakes, people will be held accountable. If there are systematic problems, policies will change. If there was a crime, criminals will be prosecuted. Until such time as we know the whole story, the KISS principle applies. Occam's Razor applies. That that requires the fewest assumptions is the most likely. Fat drug dealer dies from bad heart is pretty simple.

So using your words, you're flattered when a creepy dude fantasies about your life? Jeez, do you have no other human contact other than this forum? I won't even go into phycological aspects of suggesting that, that same creep , change sexuality a find a new boyfriend, because I'm pretty sure that was just homophobia being masked in one of your juvenile unoriginal attempts at humor And no need to imagine, I know you have no life. I actually made a logical argument supporting this, but since we both know you have no counter argument, you ignored it and went back to your kiddo/child script Impotent(I remembered),sad and funny

Seriously, of course these people are going to complain say that it's inhumane. Their whole angle right now is to try and get public sympathy. That illegal standing so it's the last shot they've got. I understand that but I also have no sympathy for them. If you're in the country legally this can happen to you. You need to leave the country and try and work out any immigration issues from your country of origin

Short term pain comes with long term gain in this case. Its not about Biden. Its about making the timeliness the most important thing. So what if a time line passed? The bigger, more important issue is getting the right deal. I'm glad liberals finally get that taxes are paid by the end user. However, am I? Ultimately, yes, the end user pays allnthe costs associatednwith a good or service. Still, prices haven't gone up. In fact, inflation is hovering right at the 2% the fed says is ideal. You should also know that the price to consumers is based on supply and demand, not taxes. Adding tariffs does not, necessarily increasing the price to consumers. It may decrease profits. This argument that tarrifs automatically raise costs is completely wrong. Without studying the competitors costs and ability to meet demand, the ability of consumers to spend more and values of currencies over the same period of time, it is impossible to guess what the outcome will be. You've chosen the outcome you want to be true rather than letting facts and data dictate your response.

Shocked! Shocked I am that these people would complain about their conditions while they are trying to fight their Deportation due to illegal residency! I mean, who would have thought that they might try to exaggerate how bad their situation was to win sympathy from the public? NOBODY Could see that coming I hear one of them reports that one of the alligators called him a racial name, and another told him that this was maga country and stole his subway sandwitch.

Over 50 Canadians arrested and imprisoned by ICE

The laws have been under the book since long before Biden. If they're so fascist why didn't he change them? That's not true buddy. And most of these people did have a conviction, one of them they had a newspaper story about and she had been ordered deported back in 2017. She was trying to get that's changed while she's dating country but that's a risk you take These people were definitely in the country illegally, they are going to be removed from the country for being in it illegally. That is the law And all you ever do is advocate breaking the law, you never advocate changing the law which tells me that you're not interested in anything other than your feelings -
It'll be interesting to see what comes in these investigations. It has definitely long been held that there were bad actors involved with the whole Russia collusion thing. If it turns out there was validity to the charges it's going to be yet another blow to a democrat party that is already on his heels and burning like a dumpster fire I doubt we are seeing the last of trump's revenge on those who used the lawfare against him. I'm sure his list is long
