Some people have recently compared Harper to Hitler, including Elizabeth May (though indirectly, it was still related to Hitler) and that federal employee whom I am too lazy to find the name of.

It is absolutely disgraceful that the Liberals and their supporters have not come up with anything more intelligent than to compare Harper to Hitler. This reminds me of the stupidity that has come from politics down in Yankeeland where Bush is compared to Hitler (stupid? You bet!).

First of all, he conservatives are not appeasing the devil as the so intelligent Elizabeth May claims. The Conservatives are ACTUALLY doing something to help stop climate change abeit not very effective actions. At least they're doing something unlike the British policy to Hitler in 1930's, which was on a whole larger scale.

One more reason to ignore green party and liberals and go for NDP.

The scurrilous falsity of your premise makes it impossible to respond to your poll.

May made no comparison of the sort.

She compared people who do nothing to stop global warming to people (like Neville Chamberlain) who appeased the Nazis in the 1930s.

In Elizabeth May's mindset, global warming is as much a threat to Western Civilization as the Nazis were.

1967100, you are entitled to your partisan views. But if you are going to follow political affairs and post about them, at least get the basic facts straight.

Lame Lame Lame. 1967100 clearly states that May did this indirectly. Such as, I am not saying this other people are saying this, so I will just repeat what they are saying. Or more importantly, I believe this so much that I am going to hide behind the person that actually said it.

Here is a really good denial, which I also disagree with.

Re "May says Tories distorted comment" (May 3) -

I was in the audience during George Monbiot's video-conference where he compared Prime Minister Harper's approach to the climate crisis to 1930s U.K. Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's appeasement of the growing threat of Hitler's Germany. Elizabeth May referred to this comment when describing how other people in the world are looking at Canada's deliberate non-compliance with the Kyoto treaty, a treaty signed by 169 nations around the world

Such cowardice need not be rewarded with deflection of the intent. Her intent was clear, regardless of who said it, or if others have made such analogies. She said it, and her intent was to imbed a vision in the parishers minds.

Obviously these over the top analyses do no one anygood. No more then this poll which has only one legitimate answer.

May compared global warming to Hitler. Harper to Chamberlain.

Richard Koenigsberg on Hitler:

"Hitler was able to persuade millions of other people to become passionate about the ideas that moved him. He convinced many Germans that their nation was under attack, whipping the people into a fury, prevailing upon them to rise up to undertake a "life or death struggle" to save the nation."

Sounds a little like the global warming crowd doesn't it?

sounds a little like what Bush has done since 911. Not that I am comparing Bush to Adolf.

The NDP is so different than either the Liberal or the Greens> All three parties want government to be all things to all people from birth to death. We wonder why our taxes are so high, all we have to do is look at the policies of these three parties to determine that they want bigger government to look after the vast array of social programs they all want to implement and have the taxpayers pay for. Thank you very much, but I would rather choose for myself where I want my money spent, and it certainly isn't on national day-care, pharmacare or one of the many other programs these socialist parties love to dream up to spend my money on.
