Just passport or BC is needed and if a woman took her husband's name she needs to get her BC changed so the name is the same as her DL/Passport.

Republicans would very much like to reduce the number of women and minorities voting and this is a way to do it. It is not a trivial thing to get paper copies of old documentation.

Passport, birth certificate, real ID, or military ID are acceptable. A woman only need to bring her marriage certificate for proof that her name changed and ONLY to register to vote or change the registration.

Many states already have voter ID laws in place, and voter registration increases. 

There is no widespread significant issue with women or minorities being able to vote.

To be clear, I was asking if that was true, I don't know what to believe. Those are incredibly restrictive requirements, far beyond what is needed.
When you register to vote, are you not checked then for citizenship? Is your name not put on a roll where it is checked at the polling station? Does the person there not check a photo ID against the roll and cross you off when you're handed a ballot? HTG that's more than sufficient.
Passports and birth certificates are absurd requirements, and women do not 'change' a BC. They're not born Mrs Marriedname. It's a restricitve and backwards a requiring voters to be land ownsers, males, white or 'freed' men or pay a poll tax.

They've done the math. Women are more likely to register. Women are more likely to turn out. And women are more likely to vote Democrat. So the more they can disenfranchise women--particularly urban and poor women--the happier Republicans will be.

This is being done with full (and deliberate) knowledge that it will burden and consequently reduce voter participation. And it's, ostensibly, being done to "fix" a problem that doesn't seem to exist. Every major study and every audit of actual ballots cast show that voter impersonation fraud is virtually nonexistent. 

It's a vile, cynical political play that cuts against every American value.
