August1991 Posted October 28, 2025 Author Report Posted October 28, 2025 Our federal PM, whether Carney or Poilievre, is facing a problem with Trump, MAGA. And another problem with the future PQ governement of PSPP. ===== Mulroney and Trudeau Snr faced both. Laurier lost an election on reciprocity. Quote

There has likely never been a time in Canadian history when Quebec secession has been less of a real concern. Trump would give short shrift to an Quebec demand, divide and conquer strategy notwithstanding. If the political Left doesn't get their platform out of bathrooms look forward to a 3rd Trump term. Any yes, there are ways he could accomplish it - the Constitution, prevents it, you say - ah no, the Constitution will enable the coup. Of course that is not to say that Quebec won't use rhetoric to back their demands, like they always have. Quote

Couple mistakes in one sentence. A. It is not the 'left' who's concern is over bathreooms B. The 'left' has never been in power in Canada Both are imaginations of the political wrong, not the right. 1 Quote

The right never brought it up until the left demanded we do something about it. "LET THESE PEOPLE USE THESE BATHROOMS!!!" uhh, i'm not sure we're entirely comfortable with accommodating that demand for these reasons, "WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT BATHROOMS!?!? THIS IS YOUR FAULT!!!: b) The left has been in power in Canada for the last 10 years 1 Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

John Stone Posted November 13, 2025 Report Posted November 13, 2025 I really don't give a shite what the American's do domestically politically - suffice to say that the Nation is on the decline - the changes(?) that are being introduced by TACO are generational. The real question is where does that put the West in terms of security? I will agree that the U.S. was the leader of the so-called free world - with Trump at the helm there is no question that so-called bad actors are no doubt seeing their chance to act. What is really concerning about TACO's administration is that he had surrounded himself with those that will not talk truth to power - most alarming is the military leadership -akin to what Stalin did in the 1930's ........ leaving him a dollar short when the NAZI came knocking. 1 Quote
SpankyMcFarland Posted November 29, 2025 Report Posted November 29, 2025 Trump is in trouble. He’s struggling to summon the energy to deal with the mess he has created with Epstein and tariffs. Meanwhile his hitherto slavishly silent troops in the House are beginning to wonder whether he’s leading them over an electoral cliff next year. Quote ‘How small we make our worlds. Gather them in, tighten them up into little castles of fear.’

This is YOUR silly distraction. The law was passed, Trump signed it. Its a big nothing burger and you know it, so you are still trying to find ways to politicize it. Quote

The tariff thing doesn't seem to be bothering him too much, and the deportation thing actually seems to have support. He is getting beaten up with Epstein and I really am shocked but that really is a problem of his own making. We will have to see how the next couple of quarters pan out. A decent and respectable growth rate is about 3%. So far except for his first couple months he's hitting that and quite frankly almost every president misses it during their first few months. What has to be making him happy is the democrats are doing even worse than it. They really should be eating his lunch for it now that they're not. The fact is it wouldn't take much for them to be in a position to flip enough seats in the midterms to be able to impeach trump and actually have it go all the way. But right now that doesn't look like much of a threat just yet. If his economy doesn't pick up a bit then I think he might be in trouble. The simple fact of the matter is people expected lower prices and more opportunity and better jobs and so far that's been really lukewarm 53 minutes ago, User said: Deal with what Epstein mess? Oh I think they're going to be successful at politicizing it. When the stuff is released it will be in the papers again and we'll see how sticky it is. The left's ability to contort literally anything into proof that trump sleeps with 4-year-olds is nothing short of incredible. We'll see how badly it sticks. At the end of the day if people are making good money and eating good food and have a roof over their head comfortably they're not going to care . And right now when you listen to people in the polls it seems like it's still the problem is they feel he should be doing better on those fronts. We'll see what the next quarter looks like Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."
