how far do you want to go back? We've had two Quebec separation votes and a third one is being considered. BC and Alberta are currently violently at odds with each other over Pipelines. Alberta and the federal government have been scrapping to the point where Alberta is considering leaving federation over its mistreatment on the energy front. It was admitted that the NEP program from Pierre Trudeau was solely for the purpose of stealing money from Alberta to buy votes in Ontario. The current Trudeau illegally infected the emergency act to silence mostly western protesters who disagreed with him and we're committing no violence. That's after he called these people misogynists and bigots who wasted space and wondered if she should tolerate them. Quebec has banned any western culture from its province and won't even let Canadian Tire use its name on its stores.

Then there's the native issues. Residential schools etc. We locked up the Japanese until we had a chance to Nuke them.

I could go on. The history of Canada has not been one of 'getting along' for the most part. 

Read a book for gods sake.

You think someone's not actively crying or bleeding and you think that somehow that means we're getting along. 25% of Canadians can't even afford enough food and have to use the food banks right now. And you're going to tell me that everyone around you is doing absolutely great with no problems.

You are living in a bubble. Canadians do not get along, the federal gov't broke canadians even further apart by miles during covid,  and that fracture is getting worse right now

1. Exactly correct. Separatist sentiment is way down in Quebec.  The country is united in wanting a better standard of living.  Destroying our institutions and going full libertarian isn't the cure.
2. They hate dialogue, they hate facts, they hate instituions and they hate Canada.

two out of ten province are actively considering leaving, there is huge dissatisfaction in the west that could lead to further ruptures, one province is violently opposed to the very idea of being considered the same as the rest....    you don't need open warfare to say we don't get along.

And no we don't "Talk things out' as a rule. 

And there is nothing peaceful about out daily lives, crime is ranpant and people are divided. I watched countelss families ripped apart by the anger and hatred largely driven by the federal gov't but others as well during covid,  we're about to see new legislation from the liberals which promoted censorship and locking people up for 'wrongspeak' like they do in england, 

People are angry and divided across the country. i see every single day people who are furious at their neighbours over stupid stuff often to the point where the police need to be involved. I've got emails in my in box right now that i'll be addressing in a moment. 

We've got more trade barriers between provinces than we do with the states. 

This country does not get along.  Not with other parts of the country and not with each other.

Lie.  Separatist sentiment in quebec is way up and they're considering another referendum.  The country is completely divided over who gets a better standard of living, with ontario demanding money for the auto workers, the prairies demanding that money go to canola farmers, alberta demanding pipelines be built and bc demanding the forestry companies get the money.. There's not enough to help everyone and now they're fighting.
