President Donald Trump has said foreign workers sent to the United States are “welcome” and he doesn’t want to “frighten off” investors, 10 days after hundreds of South Koreans were arrested at a work site in Georgia.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “I don’t want to frighten off or disincentivize investment.

 

“I want them to bring their people of expertise for a period of time to teach and train our people how to make these very unique and complex products, as they phase out of our Country, and back into their land,” he wrote.

That's literally what temporary foreign workers are suppose to be for.  Not working at Tim Horton's and taking jobs away from high school and university students like we do in Canada.

That doesn't get talked about a lot but questions coming at Trump around his UAE Chips deal so this guy obviously struck a nerve. A very presidential-like exchange though....

Trump's a huckster that has blatantly commercialized the presidency for profit.  The NYT story says no proof of any wrong doing but casts suspicion on the timing. Not sure many people would be surprised either way....

I did not cover for Biden in that regard even though I still much preferred him to the alternative. I thought he looked terrible right from the primary debates. Both of these men were too way old for an incredibly difficult job. The ideal age would be between 30 and 60 and that upper limit is pushing it for a head of government as I said about both Carney and Starmer. There’s no question Trump is in decline but he was always so casual with the facts and staying on topic that it’s quite difficult to assess how much sharpness he has lost in the word salads he comes out with. Nearly every day he makes serious blunders with the facts that he doesn’t feel obliged to correct, a worrying situation for any chief executive but quite appalling for what used to be called the leader of the free world..

There’s another problem here. The actions of any person must be judged on their own merits and cannot be excused by pointing to the errors or wrongs of others. Anybody raised in the Christian tradition would be expected agree with that. We also hold professionals to such external standards or try to. If I went to one incompetent surgeon I would hardly be impressed by the next guy admitting that he screwed my bowel up too but less so than the first guy. So talking about Biden’s intellectual failings is no excuse for Trump’s. Furthermore, what happened to all those righties who went on and on and on about ‘the Biden crime family’ but have nothing to say about the most brazen profiteeering by a president in American history?

You are no better. You say you didn't cover for Biden, but you are reducing this to a "both sides" issue as if Trump and Biden are equal regarding what occurred and their mental conditions. 

The argument was never that Biden was old, and OMG, now you can say so is Trump too!

Yeah, Trump is old, he is out of shape, it shows. 

Biden was being hidden from public view by his staff, it was arguably the greatest political scandal of our time how much mental decline Biden was facing and how those around him knew it and covered for him and hid it. 

The notion now that it was just, Biden was old, is complete white washing of the issue and why what you are doing now is just as bad as if you had been covering for him then.
