WestCanMan Posted November 4, 2025 Report Posted November 4, 2025 Seems like the leadership candidates are, for the most part *GASP* cisgender crackers. Two of them are even males for gawd's sake. This doesn't bode well for the country, because a more ethnic NDP leader would draw more votes away from the Libs. If those guys don't start butt-_______ each other our country is screwed again. The NDP leadership is underway — and the party is limiting signatures from 'cis' men https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/the-ndp-leadership-is-underway-and-the-party-is-limiting-signatures-from-cis-men/ar-AA1LJO2y I’m not saying I agree with the rule but as point of fact it doesn’t require that MOST be non-cisgender men. It says cisgender men cannot be more than half. The logic being they are not more than half the population so why should they be more than half the signatories Edited November 5, 2025 by BeaverFever Quote

No matter how you slice it it's basically saying that cisgendered men should be worth less and must be repressed It's divisionary politics and there's no place for it in Canada. The NDP should have learned this already. And their efforts to be woke they've hurt themselves badly. Some of the contenders for leadership at least acknowledge this and say that such purity tests are inappropriate. So maybe there's still hope for them Quote "That which doesn't kill me... SpankyMcFarland Posted November 5, 2025 Report Posted November 5, 2025 (edited) With his budget Carney confirmed he has moved into Mulroney/Chrétien territory politically. IMO that creates a real opportunity on the left for a party with the wit to take it. Not too green, not too out there on the sexual stuff. I’m not rooting for the NDP to succeed but there is a definite gap in the political market for them. Edited November 6, 2025 by SpankyMcFarland Quote ‘How small we make our worlds. Both Maroney and Gretchen had a very clear strategy whether you agreed with it or not. This is kind of just weird, like we might get rid of the emissions cap we might not, we're treating things like we're in a recession by putting in 50 billion dollars in infrastructure but we're also treating things like wearing out financial growth. By cutting taxes on boats and planes for rich people and Depreciating assets faster, And cutting 40,000 jobs without really anything to stimulate new job growth. It's just kind of a weird mixmash. But at any rate I do agree that obviously it leaves some room for the left to stick their nose in and carve out in each again with the NDP Quote "That which doesn't kill me...
