The bottom line is that severe and totalitarian restrictions for extended periods of time crossing entire provinces is not something people should be accepting lightly. The only reason you do is you're 90% communist anyway and appreciate totalitarianism

Have you ever consider how much time you sit behind a red traffic light waiting for the state to turn it green and let you go? Until the next light...and then it's back to waiting...forced by the state...against your will.

It's sickening.

Oh no.... they're taking always my rights!  What a joke.... the province is a tinderbox and they're trying to protect the land and people but of course, idi0ts who would most likely not go into the woods anyway feel compelled to complain because it's an infringement on their rights.  What a bunch of fools!

You've got more bottom lines than an octagenarian stripper. (Probably look like one too.)

LOL so you're so emotionally upset over being wrong that you're fantasizing about what i'd look like as an old stripper :)

Kid, that's pretty damn bad :P  you need to up your medications a little i think .

Jealous because I own and live in a beautiful semi-rural area surrounded by nature?

As i have posted many times i live in a rural area myself, own the property, and probably have a nicer place than you :)  And this is precisely how i like it.  No plastic around me kiddo.

But i love that on top of fantasizing about me as a stripper, you're also spending your day desperately wishing and praying that i'm somehow jealous :)   You have all the emotional maturity of a 15 year old girl ,

What a bunch of claptrap. Every person I know who took the vaccine caught covid, there was no protection.

Every forest path walkway in my area was blocked off with concrete barriers or temporary iron gates.

"Uniformed" Gestapo wannabes patrolling those said paths.

Your penchant for half truths is staggering..

Your ability to function with a half brain is no less staggering....

You know nothing but to speak in riddles...   guessing that face to face interaction and social settings are not your thing.

Well sir, pray do tell us how your functioning seems to lack any degree of coherence or even just a smattering of plausibility.

It's not a riddle to adults. We know exactly what he means. The only reason you're struggling with it is it wasn't written by dr seuss

It's difficult and not very interesting talking to a person who lacks communication skills and can only talk in riddles.

You would know exactly what he means because you're of similar simple mind, but the opposite in that you can't stop talking.

Getting the vaccine wasn't mandated to everyone. It was a choice that 80% of the population did.  Going outside wasn't restricted at all...indoor settings were.  It's peoples choice whether they want to get vaccinated or not, but if they potentially compromise others because of that choice then that's where the mandating of the vaccine and restrictions rightfully apply.

Of the G10 countries Canada managed the pandemic second best behind Japan so the government did their job....protecting its citizens.

As far as the subject of lockdowns....  Houston is doing the right thing... siding with caution.

Doing outside activities was restricted like fishing, atving, even camping during covid at least here in NB ....going inside was restricted unless you had your papers and wore a mask then it was game on,

Not all people had a choice, if they wanted to keep their jobs, working for the government one got the needle or quit...which made no sense at all because most of that time we spent working from home....

Lets also mention not everyone had good reactions to vaccinations, i know of at least 6 soldiers that were hospitalized some of them seriously and were then released unfit for military duty....due to complications or reactions to vaccines...So while it did benefit a good portion of the population, lets not pretend it protected everyone...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

My point on this was that health organizations didn't know exactly what they were dealing with in the virus and our government in chose to rightfully side with caution.  The facts of that are what they are though in that Canada managed it as well as most any country.

I never said everyone was protected.  We can talk all we want about hindsight, but that has nothing to do with the time this was being dealt with and the unknown.  I'm also not denying some people had adverse affects from the vaccines, but that doesn't and won't change my opinion that those who b*tched about it were mainly just fools who bought into it being a political virus. Everyone had a choice....although some didn't like the alternatives for choosing not to get vaccinated.  So be it....

You didn't get from my posts about Acadians that I live in NS? From my house: 2 min. walk to a trail I walk quite often,(but I can refrain for a few weeks 'til it rains), also 2 min walk from my house is an ocean inlet, 5 min drive to a lake with a beach where we can swim or launch boats, 10 min.drive to a sandy ocean beach to walk or swim, lots of low traffic roads to walk, lakes you can drive up to to fishing without going through the woods.

Even here in the Maritimes we have plenty of options for outside activities without going through the woods.

During an extreme drought don't take any chances with fires. Forests burn, houses burn, people die, firefighting is an expensive thing.

For Christ' sake, stop whining about your 'rights' (many of which are just priveleges) and think about your responsibilities.

I've talked about many places in my posts, doesn't mean i've live there today...so no i did not pick up what your throwing down....

Your one of the lucky ones, but most of NS , NB the province is one huge forrest, except in the urban areas, but most of us live in the country and are surrounded by trees, now yes i can drive to the ocean or beach for 45 mins and enjoy outdoor life, but most here people have camps in the woods...., and hobbies include atving , hiking in the woods, fishing brooks and streams, even in the back country rivers you need to go through the woods...YOU may find these laws don't effects you...but others think it is a little dramatic to fine someone 25,000 plus taxes and victims fees... for going in the woods as a responsible adult...maybe in NS you don't have many of those who knows...the ones i know are fine...

Responsable people take precautions when in the woods....which might be 99 % of the population.

Yes Forrest fires are expensive, thanks capt obvious, and a good majority of the population know that and practice good fire prevention techniques...

I don't recall whining about anything, just stating that most of NS is wooded and plenty of people live / work in the woods....They may be privilege's, to to many they are a way of life...and when someone screws with them people get upset....banning the population from entering the woods is not going to stop anything, those goof balls that start these fires are going to do that regardless....having responsable people out there is another means of enforcement. In our entire history banning anything has a means to control the population has not worked...At Least Here in NB they took the reasonable route , yes they jacked up the fines, but those are for the wingnuts deserve those type of fines...

I think about my responsibilities everyday, and have not burned down one tree in the process...imagine that...Nor do i need some karen telling me what i need or don't need to do....NS government jumped the gun and went way overboard...on this one...as most common sense would tell you...

In a perfect world everyone would be responsible, but it's not a perfect world.  It only takes that 1% to adversely impact the other 99% and the assets the province has.

Does staying out of the woods for a couple weeks or month really have that much of a negative impact on anyones life?  If it does they need to evaluate their life.  I'm not suggesting you, but I'd bet the majority of people b*tching about this wouldn't be out hiking in the woods anyway, they just want to b*tch for the sake of b*tching.  I'm also guessing the b*tching would stop if it was one of their homes that were burnt down because of some fool not being responsible.

I would disagree, with the handling part....making deals with China to find a vaccine was a mistake, Government had also been warned that many crucial medical supplies were in a critical state and ignored that warning....also we had NO way of producing the right kind vaccines here in Canada, and still don't, other medication that suffered from supply chain issues is still not corrected....we did not have enough medical machines required to service mass casualties, like respirators, etc...still dont'...and the massive amount of funds spent during covid , no one can account for most of it...it was a free for all....Covid also brought up other issues hidden away like long term care it to has not been fixed....did we survive most of us did, but it was not pretty...or handled well...

The fact the government rushed in experimental vaccines was a problem, the military did the same thing when they rushed in antimalarial pills to the military....during somalia and looked how that turned out...fridays were know as freaky fridays because the pills made you high as you can get...that would not have been to bad but all of us had loaded weapons and access to some mean machinery...

And to top it all off, they knew Kids did not need the shot, and yet the exposed all our children to the unknown...So was it well thought out...no...it was not, did we get lucky that the virus was not more deadly ...yes we were...So while i did get my shots....i know many that did not and everything turned out all right in the end...

Yes it does, thats why i said having the other 99 % out there would police those 1 % of wingnuts that think public safety is a joke...This is only going to get worse and while it is ok for the government to start making wild decisions like these, what do they do for prevention , for decades now they forrest service has been complaining that Forrest management funding has been cut back, so no new equipment very little new hires, and nothing spent on mangling our forests...last year we had a couple bad wind storms that resulted in massive blow downs...so bad that most atv trails operators spent months clearing them, but the damage was massive, add this to decades of blow downs and our forests are like a huge tinder box...me and many others have spent many hours salvaging this wood for firewood for home...

I live in NB so it has not affected my life, our government took a more reasonable approach...However during covid we were not allowed in the wood at all not even when alone for some strange reason, it was a stupid rule and not many obeyed it...no stupid fines attached like NS 25,000 plus taxes and something called a victims tax whatever that is...

Maybe but most of NBers live in the country, people are in the woods all the time...i can count 30 or 40 bikes along the trail when on a 15 min ride to take my grandson fishing....I'm on my bike all the time, hunting, fishing, just for recreational use...i belong to atv club with about 750 members  like i said it is a way of life to some...Not being able to go into the woods, would be covid all over again...doing nothing but endless to do lists for the wife...

Your going to get b!tchers on every topic....most will be city folks really have nothing else to do...kind of like gun control...everyone that has an opinion on it does not have a firearm and lives in the city...

easy to say ,harder to do, how did you make out going from fishing to boat tours.....unless you've invested most of your life into your career, then it becomes a major decision....

Canada lost ~60K lives to covid.  The US which is essentially identical in culture lost ~1.2M lives.  Hard to disagree with facts showing Canada was the second best of G10 countries in mitigating the virus.

Yes, a lot of critical needs came out of this but it was what it was... a global pandemic that we and the rest of the world were not fully prepared for.  Lesson learned, hopefully.

Sorry but not buying the anti-vaccine stuff.  Vaccines save lives...period, and certainly saved lives during the pandemic.
