Aristides Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago 47 minutes ago, CdnFox said: No we don't, we paid our carbon tax for years so the problem is gone right? Right? The problem is gone? Carbon tax solved our problems? Right? So what you're complaining about is that right Wingers prefer to speak the truth? It's a bit of an odd thing to be upset about. But yes you're quite right, the end user will still be the end user. They're still going to burn coal and no amount of carbon tax will stop it despite what Justin believes So if you actually cared about the environment, which you don't, you would be calling for more investment or efforts to be put into the development of technologies that would either capture carbon or allow for an economically viable end to energy production from carbon products. But you don't. Your attitude is that its FINE for them to actually PRODUCE the carbon and ruin the environment as long as we don't make money off of it. Is that because the environment is too omnibus for you? I’ve never said they are a victim, just that we are being two faced when we buy all the stuff then blame them for the emissions it took to make it. Quote

No one is here blaming them for emissions, we did not start this thread to criticize them for their emissions, just pointing out that this thread was created to celebrate them for building some solar, making them climate change serious! That is BS. 1 Quote

CdnFox Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago 1 hour ago, Aristides said: And we’re still the ones buying all the stuff they make for us. Ahh so it's YOUR fault We buy what they produce. The costs environmentally with their production is their choice. That is NOT our fault. They want to sell goods. They want to produce the goods. The way that they produce them is the decision that they make. If they weren't producing the goods then someone else would have to and we'd be right back to the same situation. Nobody can take you seriously when you want to pretend that the Chinese have absolutely no responsibility for or anything to do with the production of pollution in china. They decide their power sources, they decide their standards, not us. So you are not taking this seriously, china isn't taking this seriously, our federal government hasn't been taking it seriously but your panties are twisted over the fact that I'm having difficulty taking it seriously at this point Trying to make china's decisions. China has decided that environmental issues like climate change are not a top priority. They like to look like they're doing something because it keeps people like you happy but other than that they obviously don't care. Until that changes there's not much that we can do except prepare to adapt. 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

You totally say they're a victim when you suggest that we pass the problem on to them and they're suffering as a result and don't have to make their own choices. That is literally what you're doing and let's not pretend otherwise. This isn't a kindergarten class Like every other person on the planet, they want to make money and live. They seen an opportunity in selling goods to other people. That is absolutely their choice, that is not us downloading anything on anybody And their choice of how to produce the power that they use to make their products is their choice 100%. It has nothing to do with anyone else. They're cheap crap will still be cheap crap whether it's made from electricity from coal or nuclear power It is 100%, they're blame for any emissions. If you want your argument to be true then you would have to also accept that they're downloading their requirements for coal to us and forcing us to produce coal to sell to them to make money therefore any coal that we harvest is their fault. There you go, no matter how you want to slice it it's still there for responsibility Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

The one on the left is much larger than the previous pictured one which is on the right. And unlike the one on the right, you can zoom in on it and see the detail which appears to be a ghostly outline in this from Google Maps. Quote
