World's largest "desert-gobi-wasteland" wind-solar power base begins operations

China is serious about their grand plans for renewable energy.

Quote

Recently, the World's largest "desert-gobi-wasteland" wind-solar power base—The section 7 of the photovoltaic project at the Kubiqi Desert in central-northern Ordos, Inner Mongolia of China—achieved full-capacity grid connection 30 days ahead of schedule. The project was built by CSCEC and other companies.

Covering an area of approximately 30,000 mu (2,000 hectares), the section 7 alone is expected to generate around 3 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually. This will save approximately 410,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 1.1 million tons each year. The project will enable large-scale development and high-percentage transmission of clean energy, fostering regional green growth and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon energy system.

Oh yeah... so serious.

New coal power plant projects in China hit the highest level in nearly 10 years, report says

Yes Far MORE SERIOUS than US and Europe, according to YOUR CITE:

The development raises concerns about the ability of the world’s largest carbon dioxide emitter to meet its climate goals and threatens to undercut China’s massive expansion in solar and wind power, which has far outpaced that in the United States and Europe, the report said.

Duh

No, clearly not serious.

When they continue to expand coal power vastly more than the rest of the world...

You're not making any sense. They need the power and Gobi desert sites are LIMITED.

Per your cite, they are FAR MORE SERIOUS than the US and Europe, but you ignore that because it doesn't fit YOUR NARRATIVE. AKA YOU'RE LYING.

Sweet. More oil for us!

And more EXTREME weather events costing $250 BILLION like LA fires.

Far more serious... at what?

Do you care about fighting climate change or just building a few more solar panels?

China is still full speed ahead on the use of coal power. Building a few solar panels in addition to that is not being serious about climate change.

China is by far the larges producer of wind and solar but as long as the west downloads its manufacturing it will always struggle to generate enough electricity to produce what we buy from them.

It does not cost $250B to jail those who commit arson or irresponsible.

About 95% of fires in California are caused by humans, whether through an intentional act of arson, a downed power line, or a backyard barbecue party or fireworks celebration gone awry, Cal Fire officials said.

This from your favourite news source.

The largest is all a meaningless concept without some point of relativity.

China produces more coal energy than the rest of the world combined... so bragging about producing a little bit more wind/solar power is not much of a point.

^Has nothing to do with the DAMAGES DONE, TROLL.

Are you so stupid you don't understand that it is the EXTREME CLIMATE (100 MPH winds) which causes EXTREME DAMAGES?

Santa Ana winds.

These strong and gusty east or north-easterly winds blow from inland towards the coast. They can occur numerous times throughout the year and have been known to happen on over 20 occasions during some years.

Normal events, nothing to do with falling sky's.

The very high winds in the city were unprecedented. Usually confined to the canyons between the mountains that separate the city from the desert.

All the more reason to kick wokeness to the curb and become normal people.

California can ill afford another natural disaster.

THe usual whines about China never mention that China is decarbonizing at a far faster rate then the USA.

Specially now that Orange Oaf is backtracking on every environmental advance ever made and doing his best to hinder anyone who doesn't do likewise.

What do you think US energy consumption would be like if you had to produce all the stuff yourself that you import and how would you generate it?

They’re also the by far the largest producer of carbon dioxide, and will be for decades.  Their emissions go up every year.

Well duh. The more we consume the more energy they need to make it.

I am not bragging about US caring so much about climate change while we built more coal plants and use more coal power than the rest of the world combined, because we built a solar farm too.

You're trying to tell me that the US is STILL pumping too much shit into the air? Did LBJ, Nixon, and Reagan not do enough?

What are you perverts going for?
