Radiorum Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Denmark and Greenland insist that Greenland is not for sale, but, anyways, the American Congress has introduced Bill H.R. 1161, which authorizes the the President to enter into negotiations with the government of Denmark to purchase or otherwise acquire Greenland. The bill also renames Greenland as Red, White, and Blueland. No, this is not a joke, It's real. H.R.1161 - Red, White, and Blueland Act of 2025 1 Quote

Aristides Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Listen up dipshits, Greenland is not for sale. The Yanks are so far in debt they can't afford it anyway. Quote
Barquentine Posted March 6 Report Posted March 6 Shouldn't that be Red, White, and Orange Land? 1 Quote

No, just Orange land, the real red, white and blue is on the Russian flag. Trump is North America's Putin and the Republicans are turning the US into a fascist dictatorship. Trump may get into a bidding war with Putin, and Putin has a LOT of money stashed away. Maybe Muskrat can help out.... 1 Quote

Sovereign usually only works in the long term when the nation has armed forces strong enough to repel invaders. Ukraine is a prime example. They were dumb enough to give up their nukes for a piece of paper that guaranteed their security and only the US and Britain signatories thought that meant something. 🤮 Quote
herbie Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 The dupe that swallows the whole Donald load thinks defending your country's right to exist is tree hugging. Here's a counter offer, we'll "buy" Washington DC for $1.00 if you really think you can buy and sell parts of countries. Sure isn't worth much more on today's market. Quote

But... if we do that to Greenland... its a good idea. Quote
herbie Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 All those poor Natives, Africans, Asians that only had 'claims' to be nations. That justifies colonialism. Only real military might justifies nationhood? Quote
suds Posted March 10 Report Posted March 10 (edited) It's not exactly as if the U.S. hasn't done stuff like this before. They bought Alaska. Then there was the Louisiana Purchase which makes up 1/3 of the continental U.S. today. And if Montcalm had won on the Plains of Abraham, Napolean would likely have thrown in what is known today as Canada as well. Nothing stays the same forever. I wonder what the offer's going to be? Aristides Posted March 11 Report Posted March 11 Greenlanders may not want to be Danish but they want to be Americans even less. I doubt what Greenlanders want is even a consideration for Trump. Britain went to war because Falklanders didn't want to be Argentinians. Denmark is a NATO ally, the US wanting it for defence reasons is totally bogus, they have a treaty that allows the US to have bases in Greenland and they already have one at Thule. 1 Quote

suds Posted March 13 Report Posted March 13 (edited) Here's something interesting....two center right pro-independence parties came 1st and 2nd in Greenland's main election..... Who won Greenland’s 2025 election? In a surprising result, the centre-right Demokraatit Party won the most votes. Both Demokraatit ( the Democrats) and the second-place Naleraq, or Point of Orientation, favour Greenland's independence from Denmark but differ on the pace of change. Naleraq favours a more aggressive approach, but the Demokraatit wants a gradual transition. Jens-Frederik Nielsen’s party tripled its share of the seats to win the election, a major shock since they were not considered a key player. Demokraatit won 10 of the 31 seats, Naleraq secured eight, and Inuit Ataqatigiit, the party of former Prime Minister Múte B Egede, won seven. The result means that no party has overall control and coalition talks are now set to begin. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/what-does-greenland-s-2025-election-result-mean-for-donald-trump-and-denmark-s-future/ar-AA1ALGid Edited March 13 by suds Quote
