Hamas has no legitimacy. And speaking of ruses note that people who often point out that Hamas was elected do so to justify the slaughter of Gazans. This completely ignores the fact there hasn't been an election in Gaza in 2 decades. It should also be noted that investigations into the abuse of Palestinians human rights reported several instances of Palestinians being tortured and murdered at the hands of Hamas as well as Israelis. I'm reminded of reports that Zionist terrorists sometimes murdered Jews that got in their way.

So why did Netanyahu support Hamas? To undermine support for two states from Hamas' Palestinian opposition.

It's not a tangent at all. There are no Palestinians settling Israeli territory, meanwhile Palestinians who resist being colonized by Israelis risk being detained without charge and killed.

You're right, there is no moral equivalency to the way Palestinians are being systematically maltreated and abused by the state of Israel. The difference between right and wrong couldn't be starker.

This sort of amoral behaviour is why there is so much resistance and why that resistance finds such widespread support around the world.
