It's a different kettle of fish down there. In Canada, everything is run by "the leftard gov't". It's a voting block. 

Up here we don't have all of the co-equal branches of government, and the PM doesn't make hundreds of executive orders on day 1 after getting elected, like a king.

Everything here requires just 1 winning vote in parliament (the PM and leaders of the opposition always vote there too, every time, like mere congressmen or senators) and then the rubber-stamp monkeys in the senate vote yes.

And Trudeau's minions in the HoC all vote on everything exactly as they're told, without question, so the country really is run by "the leftard gov't" in its unholy entirety on a day-to-day basis, while a president really does run the US by himself to great extent. 

Yes, the PM actually has individual power, like a POTUS, but rarely uses it like a POTUS does. Eg, it was Trudeau that unilaterally invoked martial law here to save Canada from common sense during covid, but even he would never just sit in his personal office, dishing out massive changes to everything like Trump, Obama, Bush Sr, Bush Jr, Biden and Clinton did. He has to tell all of his MP's to vote for his BS so that he can run things like that.

While the US isn't in my good books anymore, the appointment of a Health Secretary who isn't controlled by Big Pharma is a big deal, and hopefully sets a trend that finds its way to Canada.

But of course GOP and most other politicians are firmly in the pocket of Big Pharma. In fact most of RFKs healthcare beliefs are directly antithetical to GOP inter  He’s opposed to highly processed foods, pesticides, all kinds of pollution, Big Agro,  Big Healthcare, Big Insurance, Big Sugar, and more. All these industries have been Republican Sugar Daddies for generations and continue to be. .  He won’t go far with any of those issues.The one narrow overlap RFK has with the MAGA cult is vaccine quackery but otherwise expect to find him blocked and obstructed from addressing any of his other core beliefs, he probably won’t last the 4yrs.  

And to be fair in the corrupt US political system these industries also own a majority of Democrats also which is why RFK was an independent in the first place

RFK isn't going to "break up the family". The Dems and GOP aren't getting divorced from Big Corruption any time soon. 

He just wants to bring the war on American health down a few notches.
