Chump change compared to the cost of this wildfire. It almost qualifies as an investment considering the awareness they raised.

Sure because a protest and a wildfire are pretty much the same thing. 🙄

Like I said, most of the Lefty's here were cheering when the health executive was shot in the middle of the street. How do you circle that square?

I don't know, go ask the people who were cheering.

In the meantime I'll be interested in seeing how climate change deniers react when insurance companies tell them they're uninsurable due to the threat of climate change.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906 - 1945) was a German theologian and philosopher who became a fierce opponent of the Nazis. He worked for the resistance movement under cover of employment in Germany’s Military Intelligence Department, which in fact was a centre of the resistance. His involvement in a plot to overthrow Adolf Hitler led to his imprisonment and execution in 1945.

As a witness to the goings-on in Germany in the 1930s, Bonhoeffer developed his “theory of stupidity” – that there is more to fear from stupid people than from evil people. Fighting stupidity is a lot more difficult than fighting evil because stupidity can be manipulated and used by evil. In Bonhoeffer’s words:

Ripe to see this kind of thing coming from leftists, who formed the majority of support for vax-fascism in North America.

Rule of thumb: if you're so f'ing dumb that Biden looks mentally fit to you, you have no room to laugh about about anyone else's intelligence.

Damn, that's quite a powerful word right there.

If CNN gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.

Why? You're not demanding answers from people who did the cheering here.

I assume your middle name really is 'hypocrisy'?   :)

No good person should wish for that kind of destruction in California. But it is perfectly fair [absolutely critical] to at least question if that state could have done more to prevent this.

IMO that's how that sentence should be worded.

That's not the "try" league, it's the results league. They gotta get 100% on that test and have the city seem boring, not get a failing grade and then pretend that people shouldn't be too critical of the damage they caused.

"Awww, she did her best. She hired the best DEI candidates she could find! Go easy on her."

F that. Sometimes the best lessons come from the biggest failures, when every mistake is shown to have played a massive part. We need to look closely at what happened in Nazi Germany and LA and all kinds of places where disasters occurred because there's more to be learned from some tragedies than from biased, woke think-tanks.

The hatred that the online MAGA crowd have for California (in the face of the devastating LA fires) is palpable. Gleefully watching the destruction, they are reveling in the suffering. Their POV: punish the “evil liberals.”

Where do you see examples of that here, radiodumb?

I think that 1) you're making it up, and 2) it's mostly fake conservative accounts that are belching those comments out

Are any conservatives here on this site revelling in the destruction of Californian homes? Who's laughing?

DUI is openly laughing at James Woods and where are the other leftists to put him in his place? Why don't you put your own people in their place, and we'll take care of ours?

remember that the same people that are complaining about that now are also the ones that were gleeful and excited about somebody being shot and gunned down in cold blood on the streets.

I would say that the above is not true.

Furthermore,

I think the online adoration of Luigi Mangione (the CEO shooter) is a very different animal than what we see in MAGA.

Most of the online reaction has focused on his looks. He’s been dubbed the “hot assassin.”

Even Ted Bundy developed a cult following.

Professor Tanya Horeck, an expert on digital culture and true crime from Anglia Ruskin University, says that the internet has caused "a blurring of the lines between celebrity and criminality” and that when people see a good-looking person pop into their feeds, their first thought is lust, not moral criticism.

Also - this kind of online worship of violence is often seen on the right. If you go down the alt-right rabbit hole, you’ll find that on right-wing sites like 4chan and 8chan mass shootings are met with glee.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cp8nk75vg81o

I couldn’t find any evidence that those posting in favour of Mangione were either right or left-wing. The major motivation seems to be a hatred of the rich. For example, the hashtag #EatThe Rich soon went viral after the shooting.

Clearly, some people are pissed off at corporate elites in general. But – aren’t right-wing people more likely to be anti-elite? The reality of American politics today is that the Republicans are the “populists” and the Democrats “the elitists.” That’s part of the reason they rejected Harris.

I think, too, that an important distinction needs to be made here between the messages coming “from the top.” Democrat leaders do not embrace, glorify and endorse hatred and violence the way that Trump does.

Josh Shapiro, the Democrat governor of Pennsylvania, where Mangione was arrested, said, "We do not kill people in cold blood to resolve policy differences or express a viewpoint.”

Compare that to Trump regularly calling for the execution of his political opponents.

With a leader like that, it is not surprising that the research shows that online posts by the political right include higher levels of hate speech, threat, obscenity, name-calling, stereotyping, and negative prejudice, than do posts from the political left:

In this study, we investigated the question of whether online prejudice is symmetrical or asymmetrical on the political left and right in the U.S. in a very large sample of social media messages. We observed that Twitter messages mentioning targets perceived as liberal or left-leaning (such as Black Americans and feminists) included higher levels of hate speech, threat, obscenity, name-calling, stereotyping, and negative prejudice, compared to Twitter messages mentioning targets perceived as conservative or right-leaning (such as conservatives and Christians).

  1. They're actual, confirmed, 100% diehard leftists doing the exact thing that you're complaining about.
  2. The conservatives that you're complaining about might not even be actual conservatives. They could be fake accounts operated by leftists just to make conservatives look bad. Are people like Matt Walsh, Candace Owens, Charlie Kirk, Joe Rogan, etc laughing at Californians who lost their homes in the fire? Are conservative posters here laughing?
  3. Sure, you're not "responsible for them", so you wouldn't go to jail with them if they committed a crime, but you seem really passionate about calling people out for their atrocious behaviour regarding this tragedy, so do something about it, for real.

IF YOU WANNA GIVE PEOPLE THE GEARS FOR BEING DISGUSTING, SLIMY SH1TS REGARDING THIS TRAGEDY, TAKE THE REAL ONES FROM THIS SITE ON DIRECTLY, DON'T JUST COME HERE TO GRIPE ABOUT POSTERS FROM OTHER SITES WHO ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE AISLE - WHO MAY OR MAY NOT BE FAKE ACCOUNTS - WHILE YOU TURN A BLIND EYE TO YOUR GUILTY PALS.

Ignore the social media bogeymen that are most likely fake and go take the scalps of the actual offenders right here on this site, Radiorum, or STFU. Your silence is complicity, and your hypocrisy is disgusting.

This whole post is gaslighting. It doesn't address in any meaningful way the point raised in the OP.

 Wrong.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/zacharysmith/2022/04/08/capitol-riot-costs-go-up-government-estimates-273-million-in-property-damage/

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2022/02/22/fact-check-thousands-black-lives-matter-protesters-arrested-2020/6816074001/

Damages caused by the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests were estimated to cost $2 billion, a number that could "still go higher," according to a February 2021 report published on the World Economic Forum's website.

The report was authored by the head of Property Claim Services, which has tracked protest-related insurance claims for decades. The group found that 2020 protests cost more than any other period of unrest in American history, as the average cost of demonstrations since 1950 has been about $90 million annually.

If you want to see who is really feeling the hate, go watch a few hours of Libs of TikTok. See what kind of things they say about assassination attempts on Trump or Trump winning the election.

Correction. Libs of TikTok, while it may be run by conservative influencers, is in fact a compilation of videos that have been uploaded by actual Libs.

You're pointing elsewhere to say "THERE MIGHT BE A PROBLEM WITH CONSERVATIVES ON OTHER SITES!!!!" while completely ignoring the fact that "THERE IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH UNFATHOMABLE LEFTIST HATE ON THIS SITE!!!!"

If Libs of TikTok puts up actual videos made by actual Libs, how is that misrepresenting anything? If Libs post these things on TikTok, it's reasonable to assume that they want a big audience. And Libs of TikTok shows them to an even wider audience. It's not altered or filtered either.

Shouldn't you be pleased that more Americans get to see how Libs think? Surely you're not embarrassed by them are you?
