All I did is explain my take on it. Sorry it wasn't up to snuff for you...

No worries, I humored you, but never had any real expectations you would change your ways.

Well I did change, in that I read your post... But I didn't change my mind.

Been reading through this and Mike...one of two things are true here.

1. You are avoiding the overall issue by trying to focus the discussion on a single case. If this is true, then you are simply shilling for the open border policy.

2. You don't understand the overall issue. If this is true, then you are truly dumber than you look.

Now Mike...which is it?

Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

Why are you posting to me ?  I opened the thread and saw this... I wasn't posting to you.

Single issue ?  What's the title of this thread ?

It's not dishonest to say someone was murdered, but it's deceptive to blame people who support a multi-sided ECONOMIC question for said murder.  And this from the same side that supports lots of policies that are bad for people.

I want to be clear - any policy involves trade offs and these can be done without blaming people for the ills of the world.  I expect right and left on here to do that.  Similarly, people blame bathroom policy in North Carolina for causing suicides in the western states.

If you are principled then you need to avoid these traps, IMO.

What ECONOMIC question? There are millions of these Illegals inside the USA. A lot of them are known criminals who have been arrested for crimes INSIDE the USA but are continuously released back into the population. These known criminals regularly go on to commit even more violent crimes against citizens.

Economy has nothing to do with this.

1. Immigration is an economic question.  If you don't think businesses are lobbying to keep cheap labour in the USA you are wrong.

But you're right that that's not the central point to be discussed nor should it be: it's security of course.

Businesses lobbying for cheap labour should be put on a list for investigation.

Imagine the temerity of posting to someone on a discussion forum in the middle of a discussion!!!!

Mike you almost exclusively post to other people unsolicited. That is how a discussion forum works. Somebody says something and someone comments on it.

And yet when someone calls you on your bullshit you're shocked! Shocked and amazed that someone might reply to a post on a discussion forum. And this is your defense

@Nationalist  You must apologize immediately for daring to comment on Mike's comment on a discussion board! Clearly that proves that you are wrong

He is obfuscating. Just playing games. Anything to avoid having to admit the obvious here.

oh I know. This is basically a spin on the  usual retort of "Why are we even talking about this" Where he tries to pretend that something isn't important when it is important to him and he realizes he can't defend it.

It's a common and fairly effective debate trick used by those on the left when they can't actually make an argument. They attempted to deflect by suggesting somehow your stupid person for caring about it or for having brought it up in the first place. Rather than addressing the issue

Which is strange considering Mike's a conservative and all  :)  :)  :)

I told you I would give your post an honest read, which you seemed to accept wholeheartedly.

And now you're back accusing me of "games" presumably because I didn't just automatically agree with you...

Remind me to never post to you again.

Oh dear. Someone got called out for his childish tricks and now he wants to take his ball and go home. Boy, didn't see that coming 🙄🙄

An honest read?

Even this is another game.

The point is to engage honestly. You did not. It was right back to your typical response games where you had once again ignored what I said.

Never post to me again?

Oh no… don’t threaten to not engage with me when you never really did to begin with.

Former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate hired more than 100 foreign workers in 2023, despite casting himself as an immigration hard-liner.

Trump has been doping this for decades. Remember when he hired all those undocumented Polish workers to build Trump Tower, then refused to pay them?

Incidentally, Elon Musk was an undocumented worker too.

Or unless it's 40 years ago and things have changed.

Are you even 40 years old? 40 years is a long time.

Suggesting that trump today is the same as trump 40 years ago is a little silly.  Do you have any examples that are, say,  less than 4 decades old?

No?

Well.  How about that.

You people are so dumb you just regurgitate your own lies to yourselves.

Trump is an ILLEGAL immigration hardliner. Not an immigration hard-liner. These were also seasonal workers...

Its amazing how many ways you can be wrong in such a short post.

Not too soon, just in the wrong thread. This thread is dedicated to Laken Riley.

Bullshit, it's strictly dedicated to slagging the left. The thread title is your first clue.

It's a lame disgraceful sort of moral entrepreneurialism that Laken Riley doesn't deserve to have her name attached to.  Her friends and family will likely have to endure this as well.

You people make bloodsucking ambulance chasers look good.

A government without public oversight is like a nuclear plant without lead shielding.

Pretty obvious to see why the left would choose to see it that way. You'd be right if they had taken responsibility for what they had done, then this would just be rubbing someone's nose in it instead of moving on. But seeing as they chose not to this is 100% about her and is 100% valid criticism

I think we can all smell that gas you're lighting and it stinks

Last week, a  couple of us posted factual statistics, in regards to undocumented immigrants being less likely to commit crime, than born Americans.

But why let facts get in the way of a good narrative?

It's quite interesting that when a similar case happened in Iowa in 2018, the family of the victim shut the Trump family down, and prevented the GOP from exploiting her death, for political purposes.
