Trump created quite a mess when he was in office with his COVID mismanagement and the civil unrest he created with his insurrection attempt. After he lost, he forced the Republicans to sabotage any attempts at improving the economy and the border situation because he knew he would lose if things got better. 

Fortunately, despite his best efforts, things are improving anyway. He will lose.

He did far better than Biden with regards to covid, and the civil unrest was caused by the democrats. They burned a lot more cities than trump did.
