I have relatives in the Fraser Valley of BC and in the Okanagan and they could not do without foreign workers . Their crops would die in the fields and rot on the trees. Almost 95& of the workers are foreign, the non foreign are the crew bosses and supervisors. Canadians will not do the piece work.

Not comparing but saying the US also has to rely on foreign workers in California, Southern States and Florida.

Those farmers in the Fraser Valley want foreign workers so that they do not have to pay anyone a decent living wage. All salaries are write-offs for the farmer. If the farmer paid decent wages, i am pretty sure that Canadians, and not foreigners, would take those crop picking jobs. Just saying.

So your alternative is to close all those low paying jobs or to make "Canadian" workers so desperate they'll take them?

Asides from cougar's incredibly racist rant and use of Timmies as an example? Like blaming TFWs for turning the food into crap? It's been downhill for decades! You can't turn shit into gold, but you can turn gold into shit by selling out to large corporate outfits only interested in their bottom line.

Like tell us exactly what job anyone is prevented from doing because foreign workers exist? Retail? CSRs? Warehouse? Factory?

You over 20 and want to work for Timmies or Wendy's? Yeah, right, f*cking liar.

The problem isn't just the wage. It's the temporary nature of it.  It's like they're having a lot of problems getitng tree planters.  the only people who are interested are students who only need work in the summer.

There was talk back in the day about making it a requirement for welfare - if you're on welfare you had to go pick berries. :)  They called it "workfare".  It got shot down very fast tho.

You are correct. They pay the minimum wage, as per the law.

Giving a raspberry, blueberry or apple or fruit picker $35 an  hour means that by the time it hits your grocery store it would be $30 or more a pound and no one would buy it and it rots on the grocers shelf. He no longer buys it an then the farmer goes out of business and you would have no choice but to pay for imported produce.....that is picked by foreign workers

No more farmers and no more workers and business and supply chains that support the farmers and what they need to buy and entire towns die.

Frack, you are so smart LOL NOT!

There's a FB post of a local selling frozen 10lb bags of huckleberries for $100.
That's like $20lb for barries. Price of steak!

I already resent paying more for a handful of berries at GougeOn Foods than we earned in High School for picking a whole flat.
Don't forget the same ilk of people were griping in the 1980s that most of the fruit pickers were from Quebec. Just a new generation of belly-achers.

What? Foreign workers?

The program that has been going on since 17973?

I thought the topic was temporary foreign workers, not immigration

I would say it falls under the same umbrella, but if you don't, I'll survive.  Let's swap Liberal "immigration" for "TFW" policy.  Now what?

Well actually it has, their entire economic model has been based on high immigration artificially boosting the gdp to give the appearance of good economics and keep the deficit somewhat repressed.  There hasn't been a time they weren't pushing for that. And it helps business interests that they hope will be supportive of them

Uhhhh no :)  LOLOL no that is not what the source says :)

That's fine, the free market takes care of that and accounts for it as long as the rules designed to keep the playing field level remain in force.  but when you introduce tonnes of free labour instead you create issues.

It's just like saying "People are so greedy for wanting a place to live that it's driving housing up" .   That's not a problem if population growth is natural its when you introduce tonnes of new people without planning for it that you run into a problem.

Hitler, who you consider to be a leftist, never proposed using immigration to fix the German economy.

The Chinese exclusion act happened thanks to the knights of labor.

The 1906 Atlanta race riot was inspired by capitalists using black people as scabs.

Who created the biggest amnesty in us history? Ronald Reagan.

No, sorry. There's no truth to that at all.

Biden opened the borders and let more immigrants in from Mexico than any time in recorded American history

And did you notice something kiddo? Not one of those was a Canadian example and Canada is what we're talking about. Did you think we wouldn't notice? :)

You've gotten a tiny bit better since you got here, you are horrible beyond words at the beginning. But you have a long long way to go before you're any good at this. Keep practicing

He's not the deluded muppet trying to say Hitler was a leftist, and that he was a big proponent of immigration.

"Working captured slave labour to death = promoting immigration"

Yet another fabulously dumb statement from re:Politics' most spectacular clown.

LOL  -  awww little guy, you're losing another fight in another thread so as usual you're going to follow me around and try to dry your tears by jumping in everywhere else :)

So your position is that hitler DIDN"T use slave labour?

The use of slave and forced labour in Nazi Germany (German: Zwangsarbeit) and throughout German-occupied Europe during World War II took place on an unprecedented scale.[2] It was a vital part of the German economic exploitation of conquered territories.

The defeat of Nazi Germany in 1945 freed approximately 11 million foreigners (categorized as "displaced persons"), most of whom were forced labourers and POWs. During the war, German forces brought into the Reich 6.5 million civilians, in addition to Soviet POWs, for unfree labour in factories.[1]

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!  Ohhh NOOOESSS   you're wrong AGAIN!!!

We already know you're wrong about nazis'  not being socialist, that's been proven many times :)

LOL  awwww little guy :)  Always fun to see you fall on your face

Here:  normally i don't waste this much time on you but THAT level of stupid deserves recognition!

Celebrity gif. Chris Evans throws his head back in hysterical laughter.

Why it is hard to find work in Canada? It is because of unpopular government immigration policy. Too many immigrants are imported many of those from China and India have higher educations with university education. The students visa work permits and temporary workers hundreds of thousands each year taking away needed jobs from Canadians citizens.  There are not much jobs needing university degrees and those available, Canadian born and long time citizens have to compete with those who never contributed to Canada and just landed, thanks to Liberal immigration policies past 9 years.

What fight is that?  Where you're trying to tell us the Constitution isn't law?

I gladly invite anyone to check that out that spectacle:

This forum has never seen a bigger buffoon than you.  Why are you linking WW2 history to us?  Who said Germany didn't use forced labour?  Hello!?  🤣

LOL  oh now you're just making stuff up because you know you've lost. In fact I called the constitution the supreme law :)

You're the one who claims that there's no difference between constitutional law and acts of parliament. They're the same thing in your mind. You had no idea that they were different :) " Makes no difference" you said.  :)

Sorry to break it to you little guy but the constitution is very very different than the laws created by the acts of parliament. Acts of parliament do not grant rights as you claim. Only the constitution and constitutional documents do.

I'm sure this will all turn out to be the fault of my post count or how long my posts are though :)  LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!

You are such an epic fail of a person, i literally am laughing and giggling writing this :)  You really need to stick around more! I can't buy this kind of comedy
