For 50% of the population, Including trans men that still menstruate, tampons or pads are a monthly necessity. And they're not the cheapest products to purchase. 

It's a good gesture to make them available.

BTW my local community pool has unisex change rooms with stalls and bathrooms. My son was with me after his swimming lessons and commented on the complimentary tampons made available. I told him those were for girls and that.

This is not a perverse matter. 

It's the Conservatives that are making it perverse.

I honestly think the freakout about this is because a lot of conservatives think tampons are a sex thing or have a 12 year old boy's attitude that menstruation is icky. That's it.

It would be better for us not to play to kids delusions and allow them to use restrooms of the opposing sex. 

Gender is not "assigned." People are born as boys or girls. With some very rare genetic exceptions, which is not what we are talking about.
