No, it was a CONDITIONAL promotion. He accepted that promotion on the CONDITION he would commit to 2 more years service and fulfilling the coursework. 

He did not meet the qualifications. He failed. He backed out. He was demoted. 

He doesn't get to claim he retired as something he was not nor brag about being something he never met the conditions for. That is a lie.

I haven't seen any bodies yet. Not entertaining the delusions of others does not make one responsible for any beatings they receive. Schizophrenics can be bullied as well. It doesn't mean we affirm their delusions. The problem is the bullying itself, not the truth.

I don't "understand" clinical depression. I have a hard time empathizing with that condition. But I do understand that those feelings are real and critical to the people experiencing them. And I understand that the way I respond to and engage with individuals experiencing clinical depression is, literally, a matter of life and death. So I make the small, harmless concessions and do and say the things to keep those people alive. I don't have to understand it. I just have to do the simple, decent thing.

But they don't. Where are all these bodies? The fact of the matter is the suicide rate isn't actually much higher or different than many other teens with many other problems. They claim they feel more suicidal but they don't seem to act on it.

But the facts aren't on your side so you shoot for an appeal to emotion. What happened to liking the science?
