There are tall male swimmers. There are tall female swimmers. There are tall basketball players as Black Dog has pointed out. For some reason that has never been an issue. Yet, there are male and female sports. Why do you suppose there is a distinction? Is it an outdated distinction? Should sports just all be co-ed?

But you've established intersex people do not neatly fit in either category so which category should they compete in? Or should they be barred from competing at all?

You can get higher levels just by working out a lot.

And you can get it through genetics.

Are we in the world where we exclude CIS women from competitions because their T is too high?

how about excluding them because they are going to literally kill someone. How about that??

I don't know the answer. But I think it is worthy of discussion. I can sympathize with the situation. I am not really qualified to discuss how much of an advantage one has to have to be considered too good for a certain league. I don't have the scientific knowledge. I don't know much about boxing. I would think it would be more concerning in a pugilistic sport than basketball.

They were in the same weight class correct?

Apparently she had been boxing for years prior to a 2023 "failed gender test".

Did she have a kill count prior to this controversy?

So, no. No, you can't.

You are going to sit here pushing the woke nonsense that there is some grand difference between sex and gender, and you can't even define what a woman is in any meaningful way.

But that's not the issue here. She was never identified as a man.

The fact you think that the well-established difference between sex (biology) and gender( social roles, norms etc) is "woke nonsense" shows what a small minded ignoramus you are.

lol ok - just as I expected - no respect for human life whatsoever, all just to be woke.  So gross.

Again I would be on your side if this boxer had competed as a man at one point and came out as trans. But this boxer has always identified as a woman.

What you're suggesting is that women be tested for Testosterone levels prior to being able to compete as a woman. That's a slippery slope.

"She is XY because she was DQ'd for being XY" is a tautology. Actual evidence would be the results of the test the decision to DQ here was based on , not the decision itself.

That is not what I argued. If you are going to put stuff in quotes, you should accurately quote someone. This is why people might call you dishonest.

You accused me of having nothing to base this on and I presented you with the evidence I did have. I never made any claim that she was XY because she was DQ'd for being XY.

How about if you stop being so f-ing judgmental about other people?  Why not let those people decide for themselves what their gender is?  Why do you think we need a “discussion” and that it’s any of your business? You don’t know what kind of sexual or gender feelings other people have, and it’s none of your business.

Rule #1: Nobody can have sex with another person unless they consent.
Rule #2: A adult cannot obtain consent from a minor;

Beyond that, who you screw and how you feel about it is nobody else’s business and it’s definitely not the government’s business.

No, it is that folks like you want to pretend that a woman can be male and that a man can be a female.

It is that Men are males and Women are Females. When the leftist woke people who believe they are something they are not, they do not say I am acting like a male, they say they are a male.

And yet again, you avoid the question about what is a Woman. You avoided the question because you would be forced to give up the game or give me some meaningless circular garbage of a definition.

It is a distinction to appeal to a different audience for their $$$$

You've not established ^this as fact. Doubt you can provide ANY evidence.

I am not stopping anyone from calling themselves a certain gender. I don't think I should be required to suspend reality for them, though. And I do not think it is good to give minors puberty blockers.

Because these discussions are important. I am referring to discussions about gender and sports. This one is a really difficult one, because as the OP mentioned, it is a muddy area. I mean there are cases where biologically male power lifters are dominating in female leagues. You can choose to ignore that if you wish. Who are you to say we can't have a discussion about it?

No it isn't. Venus and Serena Williams both lost in a tennis match to a man who was ranked 203rd in the world. There is a clear difference in how men and women perform in sports.

If the top players in male tennis suddenly decided they felt like women and wanted to play women's tennis, they would dominate the sport for years. That's why there is a distinction. And yes, I suppose money would factor in there, too, because fans would quickly find such a ridiculous discrepancy in talent not very entertaining to watch.

What you pretend to be "reality" is just you deluding YOURSELF.

You can't have a "discussion" because you've already decided what your "reality" is and is not.

Yes, I have decided that reality is not something based upon how you feel. If it were, there would be no reality at all.

I can have whatever discussion I want.

Except... it is. Democrats are forcing this madness onto everyone with Title 9 rules rewrite. They want to force girls to have to compete against males and to share their lockers with them... Democrats want to force this into the classrooms and compel people to have to buy into the fantasy delusions of others.

So now it’s “fantasy delusion”? First she’s a woman, then she’s not, and it’s your business? Maybe it’s none of your business.
