That truth was revealed, yet again, this week on Parliament Hill. A House of Commons committee was conducting a rare summertime hearing. The subject: Violence against women.

It’s an important issue. Canadian women are five times more likely to be targeted with sexual assault. In their lifetimes, four in ten Canadian women have experienced some form of violence from a partner. In 2022, almost 200 Canadian women were murdered, mostly by men — that’s one every two days.

So, the Status of Women committee scheduled a meeting this week to hear from police officers and victims themselves.

The Liberals on the committee, it appears, were in a bad mood. They didn’t want their summer vacations interrupted. MPs adjourned early, back in June, and won’t be back until the middle of September: That’s three months on the golf course and away from legislative business.

So, the Grits were grouchy.

Cait Alexander, a young woman who heads an advocacy group called End Violence Everywhere, was there to give evidence. Her family sat behind her as she spoke. “I’m supposed to be dead,” Alexander said. She showed the assembled MPs harrowing photographs of three years ago, when her then-boyfriend beat her and left her for dead. “If you haven’t met a survivor and a victim’s family, well, now you have.”

I watched this committee meeting and it really was sickening.  Libs humiliated those witnesses to "get back" at Cons.

They are using the excuse that they weren't given time to call their own witnesses.  But they had the same opportunity to see the horrifying statistics (sexual assault is up 75% in Canada) when they came out and could have called an emergency meeting on it, too.

But summer holidays..... 🙄

Ask any liberal or NDP socialist arse holes if they really give a crap about anything? Only the destruction of Canada is their goal. The Canada that we all once knew is just about gone. Multiculturalism and diversity(code words for white genocide)is all that they are interested in. Many of our politicians are traitors to Canada and Canadians. They would sell Canada down the tubes for a few pieces of gold. Deplorable scum indeed. 🤮

Yeah this was pretty horrible. And it's not like it's a controversial issue which is more than we can say for abortion. It's something that both parties should be on board with. Domestic violence is bad, surely we all agree.

And her response wasn't much better. Basically saying we're sorry that you're unreasonable and don't like how things went because they didn't go your way. As if these women didn't have a legitimate concern or issue.

Honestly it's like the liberals aren't even pretending to be on the side of the people anymore. There's just no defense for this

Lol...I have a high-strung Euro. I've had to follow a simple rule I heard from Bill Cosby...of all people.

I have perfected the art of being fine with all the barking and ordering...while quietly...ok some what quietly...steering things in the right direction from the background. 

Like my old buddy likes to say...

Well i've seen the same thing with women to be honest. And women do instigate physical violence more often than men. 

But at the end of the day If anything is going to change it starts with the discussion and then moves on to action. So shutting the discussion down on a woman who is obviously severely impacted by physical violence is horrific.

The girl was victimized once, and now the government that is supposed to help work out the solutions necessary to prevent this kind of things just slam the door in her face. Can you imagine how that must feel.

“I’m supposed to be dead,” Alexander told committee members. “Exactly three years ago today I sent a two word WhatsApp message — “please help” — to a friend who thankfully believed me: My ex was beating me, all 6’3”, approximately 250 pounds of him, because he couldn’t find his car keys.

I feel like women are being required (not even asked) to sacrifice themselves at the altar of Liberalism.

Women must allow men into their spaces, their sports, etc.  

Women must allow their kindergarten children to learn about gay sex positions from men dressed as women.

Women must be patient and accept that bringing in millions of immigrants from countries where women have no value, means an increase in violence and sexual assaults against women.  In Canada, this is currently a 75% increase.  In some Nordic countries, it's over 300%.
