You say it is your purpose to convince us that Trump is bad, or to at least let us know so that we have no excuse for it afterward. Well, I mean, what will that accomplish? Most of us here cannot even vote for Trump. Furthermore, Trump might lose. And believe it or not, we just don't agree with you. So, since we are at an impasse on this, and we are unable to engage with each other, I am sort of trying to take a bit of a fun break. You know even in congress and all that they have breaks. My purpose is to invite everyone who can and will use their own sound judgement to take into account objective facts and reality. There can be any number of bombastic liars full of themselves around. As long as they keep it to their private lives it's nothing to do with me, except I wouldn't want them as my friends or even regular acquaintance. This is different and it's nothing to do with personality only the fact that a prolific, principle-less liar is running for a top position in the country, thanks to the party that totally and grotesquely failed its responsibility to the citizens and democracy. And this is not a small matter to be shrugged of. He lied a lot and non stop about "stolen election". He never came forward to either withdraw it and repent or explain what real, objective facts his claims are based on. So it's not going away: he lied and it remains out in the open. He tried to use his powers and influence to overturn democratic election, in essence: embezzle citizens of their fair result. Again, zero responsibility. He is on the record on numerous occasions talking nice and fuzzy about the worst totalitarian thugs on the planet. He never came forward to explain the meaning of this attachment. See, it's nothing to do with the individual: only a pattern of irresponsibility; lies and alliances those who can and will make decisions for themselves should know and think about. And sure, it's never wrong to see and think about choices that can be important. 1 Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant

Quote Jimmy Carter recollected the time he was received by Kim Il Sung during his visit to the DPRK in 1994, when interviewed by the Thai newspaper "The Nation" on November 23. He remembered President of the DPRK Kim Il Sung as a very outstanding great leader who was well versed in everything. Having a very profound knowledge, Kim Il Sung knew almost everything, for example when a certain building was constructed and for what it was, he recalled, adding that he had a successful conversation with the President as he was simple and humble in his personality. http://www.kcna.co.jp/item/2009/200912/news06/20091206-02ee.html So, do you have any hobbies? myata Posted August 8, 2024 Author Report Posted August 8, 2024 A three decades old story about the times long past for all the questions? Thanks but no. Quote Obama went out of his way on the second day of his visit to compliment Putin, a former KGB spy who is the dominant partner in a power "tandem" with current President Dmitry Medvedev. "I am aware of not only the extraordinary work that you've done on behalf of the Russian people in your previous role as prime minis-, uh, as president, but in your current role as prime minister," Obama said at the start of talks. https://www.reuters.com/article/world/us-politics/obama-praises-russias-putin-before-beluga-breakfast-idUSTRE56657Q/ I am kind of curious because you talk about nothing else but Trump. It feels like you think about nothing else. But I know that can't be true. Anyways, we can't always agree on everything, so sometimes a good start is to find things we do agree on. Quote

It puzzles me why and how you couldn't see the difference that is quite obvious? Things can be said in the meetings diplomatically for different reasons its, a part of the job. But praising the thugs freely and gratuitously to the outside world is a different thing. There was no reason for Obama to compliment Putin or Kim speaking to the world and the Americans after his criminal invasions in 2008, Georgia, Syria 2011-... and Ukraine, 2014. If he would have done that, it would be wrong just as it's wrong for anybody. And again, you seem to be quite desperate digging out old dusting stories but we're talking about who they are and what they are doing now. You seem to have forgotten to mention that that story was of 2009. OK now everybody knows it, without having to check the link. myata Posted August 8, 2024 Author Report Posted August 8, 2024 But sure, go ahead and dig out all those instances when leaders of the free world spread gratuitous praise on totalitarian thugs. Maybe we'll learn something new here. Diplomacy doesn't count obviously, it should be a freely shared opinion. Gorbachev shouldn't. And maybe Stalin during WWII that would be strategical. You might have to have some compassion with us and meet us where we are at. Remember how you started a thread about how people have to have civil conversations? Good way to do that is to sometimes talk about things you might have in common. Edited August 9, 2024 by CouchPotato Quote

myata Posted August 9, 2024 Author Report Posted August 9, 2024 Dead brains are utterly convinced that the weight of lies and sh*t amounts to the weight of a rational argument. They throw up so much of it that at some point, they can't tell the difference from the normal world anymore. Soo old and boring... but ok. Some just have to live there: in it, because for them, it's normal and natural. What can you say? Nature is amazing in its diversity. Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
Boges Posted August 9, 2024 Report Posted August 9, 2024 Yesterday, Trump compared his crowds to MLK. He repeatedly couldn't hear the question being asked of him. So how does a swing vote decline to vote for Biden, because he's feeble and old but choose to vote for Trump? Does anyone believe an elected Trump be a sharp, strong and competent leader at the age of 82? Quote
