Trump’s Second Term Would Be Even More Corrupt and Vindictive Than His First

This is the best one I've seen.

Quote

A truism of the Trump era is that every accusation is a confession. When Donald Trump hurls wild charges at his opponents, he is telegraphing what he plans to do to them, preemptively justifying the breaking of laws and norms by casting himself as the victim of the very misdeeds he’s going to commit.

That is how we should understand Trump’s ranting in the wake of his 34 felony convictions last week. After he was found guilty, he told reporters gathered outside the courthouse, “This was done by the Biden administration in order to wound or hurt an opponent.” It’s tedious to fact-check such claims — the MAGA movement doesn’t care what’s true and what’s not — but President Biden had nothing to do with the state case brought by Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney. And as if to underline Biden’s refusal to interfere in Justice Department decisions, the federal prosecution of the president’s son Hunter Biden begins this week. In spinning this fantasy about Biden, Trump is telegraphing that, should he return to the White House, he will try to use the Justice Department in exactly the way he’s pretending it was used against him. When the former president compares himself to the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who died earlier this year in an Arctic prison colony, he’s giving himself permission to act like Vladimir Putin.

Republican caterwauling about Trump’s felony conviction provides rhetorical cover for this planned transformation of America’s justice system by making it seem like that transformation has already been accomplished by Democrats. On Thursday, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida, a potential Trump vice president, said that Democrats “have crossed the line in which now the court system is a political weapon, and it’s going to be very hard for it not to come back the other way.” In other words, whatever abuses Trump’s foes are subject to in a Trump restoration will be nothing but well-earned comeuppance. By projecting the authoritarian aggression of their movement onto others, Republicans absolve themselves. It’s the mantra of abusers everywhere: “Look what you made me do.”

Fortunately it's MOSTLY only the MAGA CULT which can't see the truth.

Well of course he's going to be more corrupt and vindictive. Biden has set the bar very high and he's not going to let Biden beat him like that!

Well buckle up. This is going to get worse and worse as we get closer to November

Yeah, I know. I can help my sanity by disconnecting. I have all of the information that I need about this election. No need to keep reading repetitive, hyperbolic garbage that offers nothing.

Do you really? It seems to me that you prefer NOT KNOWING all the facts, cause you keep dismissing anything that does not DIRECTLY AFFECT YOU.

IOW, Trump is OK because you can IGNORE anything that doesn't intrude on Pleasant Valley, NV.

I have never voted for Trump and there is a 0% chance that I will do so this time. Clear enough?

You need to learn to see it for its entertainment value if you can learn to find it mildly amusing as I have your life will be filled with joy over the next few months :)

Otherwise you'll go nuts trying to stay sane. I'm reminded of Ford Prefect's advice to Arthur in the Hitchhiker's Guide:  "Go mad. There is no point in driving yourself mad trying to stop yourself going mad. You might just as well give in and save your sanity for later. '

I find joy in a lot of other things. Plenty of other ways to spend my time/money. Examples would be my kids, hiking in the Sierra Nevadas, going to rock concerts, riding my bike to remote/obscure locations, all of which offer more than reading/watching the same garbage about Trump.

When it comes to joy it never limits yourself. The more things you can find joy in the better

maybe a few but only in the slightest degree. Here's a hint about internet forum posters. They are quite impassioned hence why they end up here or somewhere else. Their mind is made up before they ever come here. Second, anonymity and distance emboldens folks. They say things on here that they would not dare say in person. So you blasting away (much the same as they are) is not changing their views in the slightest.

The articles I post here are informative and NOT "blasting away."

The "blasting" is reserved for those who LIE about the FACTS posted with NO EVIDENCE.

interesting how you think that by posting these articles.. you think that you are going to change the minds of certain posters on here. It has not worked yet.. and you have tried, oh.. but on the 45,789th repetition, it will work.

Aren't liberals always claiming that Republicans use fear tactics in their campaigns.

TRUMP IS GOING TO DESTROY THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can tell how scared the Democrats are they are already at an 11 and they still have 5 months to go.

I get why the DNC is scared because their dirty tricks and rampant election interference will be uncovered if Trump takes office and he cleans house.

Dirty tricks and rampant election interference are the only way Trump can win. That's what he was convicted for in the 2016 election. Duh

Not nearly as many as you MAGA CULT have cost Trump with your threats of violence.
