Expert?

We don’t have to be experts to observe what Putin is actually doing and actually has done.

Groovy.

So you see that Russia...with a massive military...and Ukraine...with a bunch of old men and unwilling students and very little in the way of arms...are basically sitting there. The Russians move the lines westward slowly while they trash the utilities in the rest of Ukraine. Why haven't they just moved in en masse and taken all of Ukraine. They obviously could...so why?

Likely because, as he's said many times now, Putin doesn't want to destroy of govern all of Ukraine.

This war can only end in 1 or 2 ways.

1. The Ukrainians get rid of The Green T-Shirt and negotiate peace.

2. The Russians grind them down to 5 old ladies and a bunch of elementary school kids.

More of your stupid lies.

Putin did try to take Ukraine at the start of the invasion and failed. Their military was proven to be far less capable, over stretched their logistics, and were pushed back to mostly the already established front lines from their shadow war and all they can do is slowly grind on now.

As Russia was retreating from Kiev, Putin and The Green T-Shirt had negotiated a peace deal...which Johnson put a stop to. I think...as do a lot of "experts" that the retreat was a sign of good will at the time.

Since then, Ukraine has had failure after failure and are losing grunts at an alarming pace.

This is pathetic. NATO or the EU have no right to drag this on. Trump needs to just stop financing this bullsh1t.

Its lamb to slaughter scenes.

The retreat was nothing more than a sign they over extended their initial invasion and had to pull back.

You just keep regurgitating the same lies and Putin propaganda and ver and over again that I have long ago thoroughly debunked.

Debunked by whom...User? CNN? FOX? MSNBC?

Come on User...use your noodle. You trust these news outlets as much as I do...NONE!

Putin is no angel. But "Oh those Russians".

You have no idea what the Russian people think. You superimpose your values on them and think that's fine. It is not fine. Its how we got the Iraq war.

Wakey wakey buddy. The real world is not the corner McDonald's. Trump is every bit as ruthless as Putin is. As for The Green T-Shirt...he's nothing but a bought and paid for actor...trained in Russia BTW. He's a plant. A figment of CIA imagination.

This war is over. The Green T-Shirt has been reduced to a common begger. Do you honestly believe Europe can finance Ukraine in an extended war? Pfft...they can't even finance themselves.

By me. We have had these discussions before. I have already throughly rebuked your Putin propaganda you push here. You just wait a few months and regurgitate it again.

Really? And just what percentage of Ukrainians want a peace deal now?

Apparently a bit more since the article you posted- your article from August cited 69%, it went up to 74% in September according to a poll last month:

https://kyivindependent.com/most-ukrainians-reluctantly-support-peace-deal-freezing-front-line-with-western-guarantees-poll-shows/

I suspect it's even higher now.

That being said, there is what I consider to be bad news in the poll as well:

**

According to the poll, 75% of Ukrainians said that Russia's conditional peace proposal — including Ukraine's full withdrawal from Donetsk Oblast and a ban on NATO entry — would be "completely unacceptable."

Only 17% of respondents said they could accept Russia's demands, which also include lifting sanctions, granting official status to the Russian language in Ukraine, limiting the size of the Ukrainian military, formally recognizing Russian rule over Crimea and the Donbas region, and giving Russia a role in determining Kyiv’s final security guarantees.

**

Until that changes significantly, I think the war will probably go on. I think there is hope that it will though- in your August article, it showed that only around 20%of Ukrainian respondents wanted to seek an end to the war as soon as possible back in 2022. That changed to 69% in August 2025. Perhaps in another year or 2, the 17% of Ukrainian respondents who said they could accept Russia's demands will also increase to a majority of respondents. I certainly hope so, as I believe that the longer Ukrainians refuse to accept the reality that Russia will win this one way or another, the worse it'll go for them.

I also think that an anonymous substack journalist who goes by the name Simplicius is quite good. I believe a poster here named Michael Hardner is the person who introduced me to him. He also came out with an article a few hours ago on the war in Ukraine. It can be seen here:

https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/sitrep-102725-pokrovsk-reaches-its

He ends his article with the following:

Lastly, we’ll leave off with this indicative post from top Ukrainian drone figure Maria Berlinska, who sounds alarms over the growing collapse of the AFU:

Let them fight. I dont care as long as I'm not paying for it and not being dragged into it.

Perhaps NATO should have admitted Russia when they had the chance?

That might have been possible if somebody like Nemtsov had become president and guided Russia towards liberal democracy. It could have ever happened with Putin. Firstly, he’s a tyrant and, secondly, he hates the West.

Yes, really. This fact doesn’t change your pushing other false information as if you were working for Putin propaganda outlet.

Nationalist posted an article from the Miami Herald. Is that "Putin propaganda" to you? Even if you think that, even Ukraine admits that a majority of their population want a negotiated settlement as soon as possible, as I pointed out in a recent post. Quoting it below...

No, I’ve been quite clear in calling him out for which lies he pushes.

Hates it so much that he has broached the idea of joining NATO?

You have no idea what your talking about.

Yeah, that was back in 2000 and was never serious or much more than a few passing comments, of which were him jesting about how NATO should invite Russia and treat them as a power because they don’t ask and won’t stand in line waiting.

A lot has changed since then.

Jesting? A few passing comments? Perdy dern selective an' persumtive of y'all.

Yes. It was exactly that.

Show me where Russia submitted formal request to join NATO.

Google it.

"Vladimir Putin expressed interest in Russia joining NATO early in his presidency, specifically during a meeting with U.S. President Bill Clinton in 2000."

But now you want a formal application.

really...you're just running and ducking now.

No, I already told you this and you said:

Showing me that he made a comment is only supporting my point.

When the presidents of the USA and Russia discuss what they had for breakfast, that's "passing comments".

When the Russian president expresses interest in joining NATO, which was created to keep the USSR in check, and the US president agrees, that's "high level negotiations" that i understand Clinton's military advisors were not too keen on.

I seriously doubt Clinton would go to the Pentagon and say, "Hey guys. Breaking news. Putin likes his eggs scrambled."

This is just like the silly assertion that, because the promise that NATO would not advance eastward was never on paper, it didn't happen.

Ok. So when did Putin seriously pursue this or make formal application?

That was not the assertion.

You tried to absurdly claim a non-binding comment in negotiations that was never part of any formal agreement or informal agreement made by someone who wasn’t authorized to forge any binding agreements who later even said as much and later confirmed by the Soviets, was somehow some kind of actual binding agreement made that was violated.
