A lot of left leaning moderates have complained of that. If you're not slightly left of castro you're far right.  If you don't buy in to EVERY SCRAP of the 'left agenda' then you will be cancelled.  There's bound to be some backlash from that.

THHHREE is the number of the factions of the american left - socialists, liberals and moderates!!  And the alphabet people FOUR!!!! I've said many years ago when the Democrats were open to welcoming far left democratic socialists into the party that they would eventually take control (which they are well on their way of doing). I was told..... 'no way'.  Why go through all the trouble and expense of starting your own party from scratch when you could simply take one over? As Bill Maher once said...  'I haven't changed, you've changed.'

and this is the state of affairs... that party mouthpieces say "you're either with us or against us". black and white thinking is a human cognitive distortion. there is nothing that is black and white in the universe. close inspection provides that its all grey.

and so political parties prey on this human cognitive distortion. humans are social creatures who have to negotiate all day, every day with family members, workplace colleagues, strangers in department stores... but then a talking head on tv tells them... there is no negotiation! and a large component of the population just has to be told something over and over again in order for it to become a belief system.

and so the modern media environment, the ability for these distorted messages customized just for you in your inbox has flattened the bell curve. what used to be shallow numbers for extremists is now a huge number with only a moderate bump in the middle of people who are not willing to decide based on some imposed ideology. An ideology that laughably changes on a whim... just to be different from the other ideology, because an ideology must always be denigrating the faceless "other". not your neighbour who you enjoy chatting with, but someone else who is coming to destroy you who lurks in the shadows.

My neighbor, is a real nice guy whom I enjoy chatting with, I recently discovered is a staunch Trump supporter.

Like many who grew up in the Soviet block, he associates the Democratic Party with the Soviet Eastern European dictators even though they have HUGE differences. He also believe The Big Lie because he watches FOS LIES.

He does however listen to reason, unlike any of the MAGA CULT here.

Leftist politicians in NA vote in lock-step. 

On the rare occasion that someone like Manchin or Sinnema go against the grain, they can't even take a shit without people screeching outside the bathroom stall. Raging leftards even come to their houses and protest there.

Leftards at the very highest echelons of the DNC, including the presidolt, thought that allowing protests at SCJ's home was just fine because they didn't like the ruling on abortion. 

Leftards felt that the attack on the WH in Aug 2020 was ok, they also thought that an effigy of the president's severed head was just "comedy". 

Can anyone name some leftard politicians in NA who did anything that went contrary to their party's voting block as a matter of conscience?

In Canada you basically have to leave the LPOC if you don't vote how Trudeau tells you.

When people who grew up watching dictators do their thing, and they tell you that the Dems operate the same way, who are you to argue?

You don't know what they saw from their own POV when they were back there, but they LIVED it. It was their entire life.
