Dougie93 Posted September 2, 2024 Report Posted September 2, 2024 Communism destroyed the Russian Empire now Russia is in essence demanding that America put that empire back together for them by forcing nations to remain subservient to Moscow but America couldn't do that even if we wanted to so we are now dealing with Russia behaving as an irrational actor, lashing out in an enraged state thus we are forced back into George Kennan's policy of Containment Quote

Russia started their shadow war there... it was already Ukrainian terrority and Ukrainian people. The Ukrainian military did not have to start anything. Russia did. Yeah, I think threatening invasion, pushing a shadow war, seizing Crimea, and full invasion all constitute Russia not just wanting Ukraine to be neutral but demanding through force Ukraine being subservient to their demands. Russia did. https://www.hrw.org/news/2014/07/24/ukraine-unguided-rockets-killing-civilians Interesting that at the time...2014...these "Russian Military" you speak of, are simply called "insurgents". https://www.hrw.org/news/2014/10/20/ukraine-widespread-use-cluster-munitions Another speaking of "pro-Russian rebels" . Is that subservient somehow? well it seems clear that the Kremlin's initial plan was to depose the Ukrainian regime in a blitzkrieg of sorts when that failed, they seemed to have fallen back to Plan B which is a spoiling action to cripple Ukraine ideally for the Kremlin, the Ukrainian army will at some point be forced to break and run falling back to the west bank of the Dnieper river allowing the Russians to advance to the east bank, dividing Ukraine into East & West same as was done to Germany Quote
