WestCanMan Posted November 30, 2023 Report Posted November 30, 2023 I dunno if this exemplifies some major difference within the political climate of Canada and the US, but the thread titles in this forum are way less "passionate" (and by passionate I mean juvenile) than they are over there. I'd like to think that conservative Canadians hate Trudeau as much as Americans dislike Trump, and that we have the same healthy disrespect of Trudeau's abilities that we do for Biden's. Trudeau does his best to incite hatred against conservatives here but it doesn't seem to stick quite as well. What do you figure accounts for the major difference between the forums here? It's mostly the same posters on each side. All of the 'passion' over there isn't just regarding Trump, or even the GOP. It's not just about Tlaib or Omar or Hunter. It's about everything. It seems like everything is a good vs evil issue there. herbie Posted November 30, 2023 Report Posted November 30, 2023 Maybe because we don'/t actually vote for the PM, we vote for a choice of parties. On the other hand when it comes to support for Trudeau and Biden, beats the alternatives any day. 1 Quote

CdnFox Posted December 2, 2023 Report Posted December 2, 2023 As you can see from the replies - it's because our left up here saves it's stupidity, bitterness, hatred and childishness for the actual thread instead of wasting it on the headlines LOL 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
Queenmandy85 Posted December 2, 2023 Report Posted December 2, 2023 The difference is that Americans take politics too seriously. In Canada, politics is a sport, and as a sport, it is not whether you win or lose, it is how you play the game. You play hard, but after the votes are counted, you shake hands and respect your opponent. I also believe that our politicians are better qualified and deserve respect, regardless of party label. It is no different from the Blue Jays vs the Yankees. If American politicians were more like Aaron Judge or Vladie Guerrero, they would have a more functional government.
