For all 600 years of Ottoman rule there was codified bigotry.

And where do we think the order came down from, to senators and MPs, to 'not speak about the incident in open sessions'? The PMO, of course. No one else could demand that of them.

I never said that Palestinians were Ottomans. That region was just a part of the Ottoman Empire for the last 600 years. Before that it was part of other empires/dynasties and whatnot. The Philistines are from 2,000+ years ago, and it was just an area a bit bigger than Gaza is now. There has never, ever been a nation called Palestine encompassing all of the area that the Brits sectioned off as "Palestine". It's like if 2,000 years from now the Australians section off a bunch of land including present-day Wash state, Wyoming, BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan and call it "Winnipeg".

It has been called “Philistia”  since at least Roman times (although it’s named after Philistines who were a Greek people who settled there during the late Bronze Age more than 3,000 years ago, pre-Judaism, and not the indigenous Canaanite population).   DNA shows that modern Hebrews and Palestinians are both descendant from Canaanites (although Ashkenazi Jews have significant European DNA  especially in their maternal lineage).
 

Also interesting is your (false) claim that Palestinians have no legitimate claim because you (falsely) claim they’ve only been there 600 years.  According to that logic all non-indigenous people hav no right to live in the Americas or Australia or any of the other places Europeans have colonized.
