point proven.... so when the maintenance crew came today to remodel the bathrooms.... I should have blurted out something about covid? Because everyone knows that installing sinks and covid are one in the same.

Yes... hence why a certain subset of the population will be always be relatively Conservative. No matter how society evolves, changes, or grows.. there are going to be some that want the past. It has always been that way.

"Maintenance crew" sounds a lot like "unvaxed horde" imo, and I only watch 20 minutes of CTV a year. You're probably dying this very minute but you don't know it yet.

I guess that at one end of the conservative spectrum you have people who learn the bible/quran/torah by rote, and they'll be credulous dogma addicts, just the same as there are leftards whose only real skill in life is learning by rote who are equally credulous.

Conservatives aren't generally luddites though, we're just not as susceptible to the shiny new bullsh1t as leftards. The average leftard still thinks that there's a pandemic of the unvaccinated and covid deaths were down by 50% in 2022. They can't be reached - no one's at home.

SURE there is - you heard what he said, you just have to "find" it and 'Understand" it.

Which means you have to activate your confirmation bias and look only for info that supports that position and disregard any other evidence which doesn't, and then bang your head with a brick till you're concussed enough for this to all make sense!!!!

If you''re not prepared to do that leg work like he is - how are you EVER going to get to "da TRUTH!!!!"?

This is the question that needs to be beat on constantly...IMO.

"Hey Pixie-Dust. I see you've raised a gas tax and are promoting what appears to be a war on fossil fuels. Since this industry is actually the base of the global economy...and since all your activism is costing Canucks more than many of us can afford...would you be so kind as to provide real proof that your impositions on the population are warranted? Just show us the proof that this climate thing is a real crisis worthy of your impositions...please?"

Followed by something similar to what robo-bot and Flyer responded. Don't you see Fox? Its obvious. Just go outside and you'll see the proof.

This last decade has seen governments at their meanest. At their worst. We celebrate old NAZIs...we force jabs into folks arms and punish them if they don't want their miracle serum...we allow them to tell us what we can and cannot say...and we accept that the sky is falling with no realistic reason.

This was the OP:

Quote

For decades infectious disease control scientists have warned us of new strains of evolving respiratory diseases that will likely be a major danger to mankind. All started with SARS in the early 1990s which bewildered experts. Forget Meteors, Extra Terrestrial invasion, or any of that Biblical apocalypse stuff.

So now the next strain of pandemic will no doubt be met with resistance and ignorance by the Reichwing and anti Vax nutjobs will stand tall and fall small in defiance.

Covid in a small way showed this.

The post of yours that I responded to was suggesting reasons for people being conservative: I mentioned that it's mainly credulity that drags people into the leftard tent and I used covidi0ts as an example of that.

There's literally no better example of of credulity in the whole history of mankind than the way that leftards devour blatantly false covid propaganda.  They make the proverbial lemmings look like diehard iconoclasts.

Nah.

If you got sucked in, you got sucked in. There's nothing subjective about it.

And leftards didn't just believe silently either, they ran around calling everyone else names and committing crimes while they were sucked in.

If it just happened on one occasion and then took everything they saw on CNN with a grain of salt after that it would be somewhat understandable but nuh-uhhh, when CNN says the next blatantly stupid thing they always start running around calling people names again. And again. And again.

CNN cried "WOLF!" 30 times in the last 10 years, and the village idjits took the bait every time.

Subjective you say?

?

It's pure comedy gold.

Then show me an objective, quantitative basis for degrees of gullibility. Now spare me your usual circuitous runaround..

You must be a proud alumnus of Crappinsburg State University, home of the Grunts. They must have a course where no matter what you talk about.. you are instructed to reflexively start babbling about Covid or CNN. The rock band, Coheed and Cambria, is putting out a new album as an example. You then give me 10 minutes of covid rhetoric.. even though one had absolutely nothing to do with the other. You are quite the caricature.. hard to take you seriously.

Gawd you prattle like Biden.

Do you know why the word credulous exists? Or gullible? Because it's a condition that exists among humans. If it didn't, as you seem to think, then there wouldn't be a word for it.

FYI every mental condition or belief under the sun is on a spectrum.

Eg, at one end of the abortion spectrum is kooks who believe that if a 12 yr old gets raped and winds up pregnant, she should have to carry the baby to term. At the other end is people who believe that it's a woman's right to arbitrarily kill a healthy unborn at 9.5 months.

At one end of the credulity spectrum there are diehard skeptics who don't trust anyone and have to see everything themselves in order to believe it, at the other end is people who will believe every stupid thing they hear based on no actual evidence at all.

For example, it was normal to be a bit worried about covid when it first came out and the reports were flooding in from China. There were pictures of dead bodies and reports of people freaking out. Even if you're wrong to have held the level of belief that you did at that time, that's called "erring on the side of caution". That's "prudent". If you still believe all the covid narratives in 2023 you're a total effing dolt. The 'experts' and 'leaders' have been proven to be wrong and to have serious conflicts of interest and to have lied so many times that it's beyond ridiculous.

So no objective quantitative measure of gullibility? I can measure jobs, wages, prices with a purely objective method.. so where is the numerical and purely quantitative measure of gullibilty? Instead.. you produce five paragraphs of meaningless drivel that does not even come close to showing this. Crappinsburg State really pushes out some good ones.

Yup. FYI you can count matchsticks objectively, but there's no such thing as an actual crediblometer, it's just inside your own head.

In order for it tow work you need to have a reasonable understanding of a topic, and how strongly someone else believes in the various accurate/false aspects of it, and then it reveals their level of their gullibility. Sorry, you have to think for yourself.

Eg, if someone else believes in Santa at 35, and you also believe in Santa at 35, your crediblometer will say "That person's not credulous at all. Santa is REAL goddammit!"

After you make that statement, other people will read their own internal crediblometers. It's ongoing.

More off topic nonsense. You still can't produce an objective, quantitative based way to measure this. If you were even 1/10 as smart as you think you are.. you would do the following. You would admit that there is no objective way to measure it and therefore it is purely subjective.. What is gullible to one person is not to another person. But that is too much honesty for you. Crappensburg State University has succeeded with you.

Do you know you can't admit that it is subjective? You want affirmation of your values and beliefs. I do not give them to you so we get the usual sanctimonious, know-it-all diatribes that keyboard warriors like you push out.

Just out of curiosity, what does this mean to you:

Quote

Eg, if someone else believes in Santa at 35, and you also believe in Santa at 35, your crediblometer will say "That person's not credulous at all. Santa is REAL goddammit!"

Seems a lot like I'm saying "What's gullible to one person is not to another person" but I guess we can agree to disagree.

If you wanna rid your vocabulary of the word "credulous" then go for it, because it seems like you're loth to use it. I use it because it's quite descriptive of a huge problem that our society is facing right this very second.

FWIW, here's a heaping dose of "objectivity" for you.

If you think that :

Quote

2021: "Q796QSn.gif IT'S REALL REALLY REALLY BAD HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE DYING! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! Q796QSn.gif "

plus

2022: "30% more people died this year than in 2021"

=

"Things are A-ok now",

just because CTV and Joe Biden said so, you're a credulous dolt.

I.e., really bad plus 30% worse does not equal "ducky"

If the Cultist Narrative Network/Cultist Broadcasting Corporation gave an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters, leftists would believe everything they typed.
