Gasoline IS expensive now. It wasn't, just a year and a half ago. What changed? It wasn't The Rona, because prices were still low for the first year of it. So what was it?

When Covid hit, demand cratered and oil prices went negative because buyers couldn't find places to store the oil they had bought. Now we have the opposite. Demand is has skyrocketed and all the players who left the industry haven't got production back up. At the beginning of Covid, supply far exceeded demand, now we have the opposite until production finally catches up. Demand has exceeded pre Covid levels because people are playing catch up. It's not complicated.

Oh wait again RnR...you got lucky.

While I was looking for that funny vid I knew about Michael Mann and his hockey stick graph I looked down and I saw a serious one explaining the scam. So I can help you out with a link. Here ya go. Catch up.

So I take it you don't pay the bills in your home?

Of course I pay the bills. And I pay half the cost of most cars because I drive a hybrid that gets 50mpg.

And has enough range to wait out temporary spikes in price the oil companies engineered with 3 refineries shutdown for "maintenance" here simultaneously.

What's it to ya?

IF your daughter charged her car overnight, she wouldn't have to charge it at your house.

You certainly do live in an alternate reality.

cool.

BS.

But that's the point, isn't it. She can't just pop into the local gas station and go.

Again man, I just shake my head at you guys, sometimes, on this issue.

You're convinced you're experts but there is so much basic stuff you don't seem to know.

NO! I'm convinced the EXPERTS know what they're talking about and YOU DON'T.

That graph above is something called "the Hockey Stick Graph".

I know about the 'the hockey stick graph' and that you've not proven it wrong.

You need to look it up. I'm not going to look up basic stuff for you that you should know. But I'll give you a spoiler. Michael Mann's Hockey Stick Graph been debunked beyond any point that anybody but a complete sucker could take seriously. I will give you links to the debunking once you show me you've at least caught up on the basics.

The NOAA is my source. They have credibility and you don't.

That pic looks like it came from Wikipedia. Did it? Tell me if it did and I'll tell you an interesting story about why you can't trust Wikipedia on the global warming issue. I may even give you links?

It matches the graph I posted from NOAA. 1C warming.

And yet none of you even mentioned the largest contributor to climate change, the one no one talks about and everyone forgets.

Asphalt and concrete, asphalt and concrete are responsible for more climate change than ANYTHING else, don't believe me? Think I am crazy? Here is some home truths I'll let you research. How much has the average temperature gone up in large cities as the heat absorbent dirt is covered with the heat reflective  asphalt concrete and glass? How much has rain run off been effected in large cities as the water absorbent dirt is cover in the the same material that water simply runs off of to find dirt so it can be absorbed and replenish the earth. Stop and think about that for a minute and check the numbers. Then please please come tell me about how these asphalt roads these concrete and glass buildings are all natural phenomenon and that I am a crazy person for suggesting such things.

Of course we effect the climate of this planet; simply by existing we effect our surroundings, with out words and  actions. The only way you are not effect the environment around you is if you are living in a bubble. Humans give off heat as well we put out forest fires instead of letting them burn, we build waves breaks to try and stop the Ocean from sending waves far inland. Car emissions are bad yes fossil fuels are bad agreed. But to say we cannot change the environment?

Pull the other one my friend it has bells.

The problem is you're pretty selective about your experts.

And if you're telling now that you knew how hard the hockey stick graph has been debunked but you posted it as claimed fact anyway you need to find better experts.

Far from it. My car has 700 miles of range, and gas prices are already dropping after setting another record in CA.

She can pop into the local supercharger if she was dumb enough to not charge it overnight.

NASA also shows 1C temp rise:

Temperature data from four international science institutions. All show rapid warming in the past few decades and that the last decade has been the hottest on record.

And so what? Biden comes to power, shits on the oil and gas industry et voila...prices go wacky.

Good work.

Shutting down a pipeline UNDER CONSTRUCTION, does NOT affect SUPPLY.

The war in Ukraine DOES affect worldwide supply.

Good work.

High cost producers had already left the market because they were losing money. Oil production isn't just a tap that you turn on and off.

“Experts” as in actual scientists and not “guys who oil companies pay to make cool-looking videos”

But is does affect PRICES.

The war in Ukraine does NOT affect supply or prices.

The sheer stupidity of NATO and the EU affects those.

So you tell me you know the story about the Hockey stick Graph then you post me that as testament to what, exactly?

That maybe the hockey stick graph is not BS?

If so you really need to watch that second video to understand what "Hide the decline" was about.

Or are you just going "Wow, look at how radical they made the slope look on this one. They don't even show the leveling that should be their at the peak. Isn't that great?"

Whatever, I already explained the problems to you with that graph. 1 degree of warming from the time of coolness when some of your "experts were predicting a coming glacial ice age to the warmth of the 1998 super El Nino is no biggie. It doesn't tell us the sky is falling no matter how much you want it to.
