I am a Canadian vet with 34 years of service, Our military is not treated like your military persons are, our vets do not hold any special meaning to our citizens nor are they granted any special treatment. Our military is not on the priority list for spending, every US president in the last 40 years has asked our PMs from both left and right, to increase and upgrade our military...it has not happened yet. 

During that time the right Conservatives have cut vet benefits, cut military budgets, prolonged and reduced equipment purchases, and believe it or not the Conservative party is supposedly pro-military party.

The left (liberals) have done much worse including cutting budgets to the bone, a major reduction of service personnel along with civilian support people, and stalling purchases for decades until pressured by NATO to upgrade. made an election promise to return vets' benefits cut by the right and failed to do so, refuses to settle any claims that vets have had to take to court for a settlement, Closed all Vet hospitals to save funding, and will close all vet homes once the last of the Korean vets have passed on. Today's vets no longer will have old age or hospice to go to. 

It has been under liberal leadership that has sent our military into combat more times than any other political party. 

The bottom line your vets and military are treated so much better than ours, And under this liberal PM, our military is sinking at a much faster pace than any other PM. and is becoming irrelevant in more ways, with the loss of many capabilities we once had.

Your democrats are further right than our conservative party will ever be. Canada is heavily leaning to the left, so much so it would make California look like a paradise for the right.

My point is our nations are not the same, don't get me wrong we want to be the same, but our differences are more than you think.

Republicans flip flopped on the bill AGAIN in response to outrage from veterans and they passed the PACT Act. Toomeys proposed amendment to make the spending discretionary instead of mandatory was also voted down.

Only 11 senators continued to vote for more dead servicemen and veterans…..all Republicans of course….

Then you don't get it at all. All Governments are going to use their military forces regardless of how poor or how good their equipment/training is. Modern equipment and training save lives, they save soldiers' lives, You need to live through that before becoming a vet.

This is where Canadians have failed to protect their soldiers, without their direct support, our government will do whatever they want to our soldiers. Because they don't give a fuck... Just as you just posted, you missed half the equation, without really knowing anything about the topic.

I really care nothing about the  military budget , that's just mostly wasted money . The only thing I care about is when they come home,  the country takes care of them.   Goofball countries see military as power, so a large military isn't needed, if it is only used when it should be. So keep the military budget as is and lower the number of troupes by a number that can be accommodated completely  by the budget.

Yup the department of defense in Canada doesn't know what they are talking about, and we should believe you instead , Canada spend almost three times what the US spends on vets per year, That's per person not for all the vets in both countries This guy will try that bullshit next.. That fact is available any place you want to look. Other than this whiners sights, we can't go with what he suggests because we already know he is just whining, and he is a bullshitter. Why is it so important to you that the military budget get cut? That sounds...dangerous. especially today. IMO we should be redouble the military budget and can the green shit eating up all our funds. While we're at it, double police budgets too.

Vets deserve better than they get...that's more than evident.
